I once had a bible study at a church and when you drove out of the parking lot it said
"You are now entering the mission field"
You are a evangelist!!!! We are to share the cross of Christ! We are to tell people our testimony and tell them the good news of Jesus Christ. The question about how to share is often asked. Or I hear " I don't know how or what to say"! Well first take into consideration "who" you are talking to. How long have you know them.
If you just met them ask about them. Get to know them by asking the 4 "F's"!
What do you do for Fun or ask them about their Family? Where or If they work which deals with their Financial area. Which can often lead into helping them in some way...and lastly their Faith! "Do you go to church"? "what church or where did you go when you were young"? Tell them about your Faith, Family and fun things you like to do. Take your time, this isn't a race. One day it is about their Family and the next week you may ask about their Faith. Fun things always bring interest and light knowledge about them.
RELATIONAL CHRISTIANITY! It is always better to have a relationship than not when trying to evangelize. Cold calling, or demanding street blast are NOT the best way to share. That does not mean that it does not work but the percentage is much lower. Also events like Harvest or Billy Graham evangelist crusades are not as good either as one on one evangelism. Again it does not mean it is wrong to have them but the percentage is much lower and the person does not fall through the cracks. People what to know you care about them and they are not another religious notch on your belt. They want to know that you have real answers and that Jesus is real not just a another religious relic.
Discipleship afterwards is also just as important. We don't want to just abandon them after they are saved. Take them to church and teach and spend time with them. Listen to them and learn what they think or what they are going through. To evangelize is just like a parent who gives birth than raises that child. While the birth process is exciting the maturing process is just as important!!!
So share your testimony with others and seek to lead them in some way to Christ. You may not be the one who leads them to Christ but you can help guide in some way. You may not be there when they take that first step but you can teach and minister to them afterwords.

Wanted Dead or Alive!
In todays times we often struggle with hope. We often go through so much that we seem to lose hope! Much of what we go through can be helped if we put life into perspective. Our tendency is to stare to long at the problem instead of the solution.
Rom 14:7  For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. 
Life and death matters are important in the small things as well as the big things we deal with. When we compare death to the things we are going through, life is not so bad. And if we look past death, and toward what we gain in Christ, in heaven peace comes. We have that security and hope.
God Wanted us dead or Alive and we are His dead or alive so live life in hope not in fear!

Rules, Regulations and Rewards! 
Rom 13:1 "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake".
I am sure that most elderly ladies feel a sense of loss when their spouse passes away. But there also may be a sense of relief from being under that authority. The thinking might be "I can do what I want"! "I am not responsible for anyone but myself, and can go were I want without telling anyone". OR....
Yes there are certain freedoms that come from not being under authority but it can also be dangerous grounds too. As we look at the U.S. and we so much anti-authority and anti-police and we see criminals becoming heroes and we see a decline of morals, behavior and of course more crime. The ones who are to protect and provide boundaries and law are now being put on trial. They are now the ones that have become the criminals and the criminals are now the ones being immortalized!
When we condone and accept sinful behavior as the norm our society begins to crumble! We have seen over the last few years a acceptance of homosexuality, transgender and every other type of sexual perversion become lawfully accepted. When the LAW of the land begins to approve of these things and the authority begins to not hold to Godly values we miss lead and the thinking gets twisted. We see this in every area now.
Rules and Regulations are important and when followed they even have Rewards. First there are no punishment. You don't get in trouble if you follow the rules. 2nd and most important you have a "good conscience" which is more important than getting in trouble.
Peter says in 1Peter 3:16 "Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing". 
Authority is there by God, for God and to protect you. Authority is good and when taught and we learn God's ways, God's rules and God's regulations we will have a healthy balanced and spiritual life! And best of all you will have a "good conscience" before God.

Hey, What happend to Enoch?
Hey, What happened to Enoch?
Gen 5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. 
Enoch was just Gone! I wonder if they sent out a missing persons report!
This is all we know about Enoch until we get to the New Covenant books. You see Under the Old Covenant we often see things that reflect the things "to come".  We see Jesus in the Old Cov. books and the Old show us different types of things under the New.
Heb 11:5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
You see Enoch was "caught up", raptured and is a type of the church that is is taken before the Flood! The wrath of God upon man and the earth. Just like we also will be "caught up" before the wrath to come which is that tribulation period. 
God does not punish the righteous with the unrighteous! God does not send judgment on His saints and sinners at the same time! 
Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, 15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
We will be "caught up", raptured and spared the wrath of God so don't fear what is to come. Keep looking up and keep your mind and heart on Jesus Christ! Be comforted and keep that Hope in Him alone! 
1Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

We all experience different things growing up. Some perents were patient some were not. Some parents are permissive some are authoritarian.
The one thing we all have experienced in life is rejection. In some form we all have been disrespected or dishonored. We all have been teased, bullied or called names. Kids can be the worse even if they are just kidding.
Some of us have been molested or raped or beaten harshly. Some us have felt so rejected that we wanted to commit suicide.
BUT let me say to you that you are not alone and that no matter what you have done or what others have done to you, YOU ARE LOVED!!!
Romans 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
No matter what, when or who rejection has come from,God's love can heal! God's love applied like salve can bring healing and even make you stronger and feel more secure and confident.
Don't let past hurts control you, let God's love heal you! Walk in God's Love!!!

Leadership in the church today!!!
Act 24:2 And when he was called forth, Tertullus began to accuse him, saying, Seeing that by thee we enjoy great quietness, and that very worthy deeds are done unto this nation by thy providence, 3 We accept it always, and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. 4 Notwithstanding, that I be not further tedious unto thee, I pray thee that thou wouldest hear us of thy clemency a few words. 5 For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes: 6 Who also hath gone about to profane the temple: whom we took, and would have judged according to our law.
As Robin and I read through our morning bible study together, we read here in Acts 24 about how the Jews were accusing Paul, and it reminded me of the different ways of thinking as far as church leadership. There are elder led, meaning a group of men and there are bishop or pastor led churches. There are also churches that are group congregational led all though that is never biblically sound or explained in scripture. Now all 3 have advantages and disadvantages.
Elder led churches can be good because not one man has total control per say, But it usually takes for ever to get things done and everything has to be voted on as well as men pleasing can swing things in a wrong direction also. The same with congregational led churches who vote on everything. While it seems more democratic and giving people a vote it usually takes forever to get things done and more often than not through out the bible the congregation had it wrong. They would tell Aaron to make a idol... or they would want a King and got Saul.... and on and on through out the bible the "crowd" is swayed and usually ended up bad.
Now God has always used individuals to lead. Paul is one of those as we see him as the Apostle to the gentiles and our leader for today. And at the same time the pastor who teaches usually will have the insight, vision and discernment needed to edify the saints. Now that does not mean that he should stand alone in all things and neither does it mean that he is to rule with a iron hand but he is not a hireling than can be hired and fired, Nor should he be a "yes" man either. He needs support and help and can incorporate men to help as well as seek out the congregational needs. 
Pastor led is the best with support from faithful men and prayer from the congregation is usually the way to go. He needs to be humble, loving and most important teach the Word of God with power, authority and wisdom. He needs to discern dispensationally and teach the grace and mystery message for today.

Our Worth, Walk and Work!
So often I hear two arguments when I share or write on things. One side is the "we are saved and that is all that counts" side! The other is "I fail all the time, I don't know if I am saved and God is not doing anything" side.
The problem is that there is more to the Christian life than "just being saved"! But that is the first thing that needs to happened. We need to be born in order to live the rest of our lives right. But then also there is the way we live the rest our lives! Are we going to walk by faith and be productive in life. Now you don't need to be productive in order to be saved but we are called to walk and work also!
The other side is that "I sin and fail and I don't know if I am saved" thinking. "I seem to be always starting over and trying to be saved again"! 
We need to understand our "Worth" in Christ! The first 3 chapters in Ephesians tells us our worth in Christ. It tells us "who" God is! It tells us "what" Christ has and "who" we are in Him!!! It gives us Our "WORTH" IN HIM!!!!
Chapters 4-5 tells us our WALK! Eph 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,.... 
Our walk is the part of "renewing" our minds and walking by faith in our daily life. It is choosing to receive and rest in His love. It is putting off and putting-on! It is knowing "WHO" you are in Him and knowing your "WORTH" then walking daily in that "worth"! You are walking with confidence, security and boldness. 
Then in Ephesians 5-6 we see our "WORK"! We are to love others and serve the church as well as bring others to Christ! Praying and edifying the Body in some way. It tells us how to operate in our families, work and church. It tells how to treat our spouses and children! 
So read Ephesians and know your "Worth, Work and Walk" in life!

Stephen, Stiffnecked and Standing!
Stephen was a Deacon that was asked to serve the Grecian widows because they felt cheated out of the daily ministering that others received.
Act 6:1 "And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables."
Now today most deacons in the church are not picked because they are faithful men who know the word but they are picked because they know how to fix things and work hard. They can "do" things and be involved but many do not know or read the bible. In fact I have counseled and observed over the years that about 50% of them are not saved. 
BUT Stephen was a faithful man and full of the spirit the bible says....
Act 6:5 "And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:" 
Act 6:8  "And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people". ... 10 "And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake". 
He was so strong in faith and power that they could not help but listen. He spoke with the power and wisdom of God. In fact Stephen was the last prophet to speak before Israel to convince them of their sin and to give them another opportunity to repent!
BUT they resisted and he called them stiffnecked!
Act 7:51 "Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do ye". 
Stiffnecked means rebellious, stubborn and obstinate! That is what allot of folks are today aren't they. They fight , argue and justify their position no matter what and lose the thing they need which is Christ! They are prideful and self righteous but they resist the very Spirit and hope of eternal life.
Sadly the Calvinist teach that man can not resist the spirit. They say that God chose certain men to be saved and that man can not resist the spirit. Well Israel did and Stephan told them they did. Any one can resist the spirit and choose sin and death. So they were stiffnecked toward the Messiah. 
So after they resisted the Spirit and Stephens rebuke, Jesus STANDS UP from sitting at the right hand of God.
Act 7:55  "But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God". 
Remember He was sitting at the right hand of God but now He stands and that means a judgement upon Israel. He judges them to be a apostate nation. He judges them to the wrath of God and that will come later but He will first gather as many gentiles as he can. Israel will no longer be the agent to the world but the gentiles will be that agent of grace to the world. They will be the mouth and body to spread the word of God. They will be the church and they will preach the salvation message to the world. 
So don't be Stiffnecked and Stubborn but rather be like Strong like Stephen and Stand Like Jesus in Victory! Stand Strong in His power and wisdom and share the "good news" of the Gospel of Grace to a lost world!

3 in one today!
Who do I pray to? 
I once had a friend that prayed to Jesus instead of God. He thought that was who we were to pray too.Often times we hear someone pray to Jesus instead of God and it sounds odd to some of us. We are to repent, pray to God the Father for He is the authority even over Jesus, but we have faith through Jesus! 
Act 20:21 "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."
Now God the Father is the one who forgives sins Yet Jesus had that power and authority too. So I encourage you to pray to God the Father by faith in Jesus Christ but they are both valid! 
And with that being said we can also rest in the fact that Jesus is the express image of God!   
Heb 1:2 "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"
Yes I know that Jesus was the form of a man and God is Spirit, but in character and power they are the same. Jesus is God the son, and God is God the Father. So while trusting in Jesus Christ as your redeemer and salvation provider you are repenting to God the Father. The understanding of repenting is a "change of mind" from flesh (sin) to FAITH in Christ, GOD!

On another note Some grace teachers teach that repentance from sin is not necessary, but I would disagree. Repentance is from Genesis to Revelations....Now they may be right as far as "just" stop sinning is NOT repenting, but to say to not repent or that it is not valid is wrong also. What always needs to be presented is the definition of repentance! The definition is NOT " just stop stealing, lying or sinning...." but rather a "change of mind" from self to faith in Christ! The best way to describe this for the believer is found in the bible. To PUT-OFF and PUT -ON,
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. 9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: ... 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

One more thing is on my mind today. I recently heard a popular pastor state that he thought tattoos are ok and that he had gotten several after his conversion. Well as you might know I disagree!!!! First of all the bible says to not get them and second of all it is not that the tattoo itself is the only thing but the motive that is self serving. When we sin we are being our own god and independent of THE God. We are trying to play like we are God!!! God has certain prerogatives that we don't. He sets the rules and standards. He can take vengeance and control life. He deserves the attention and acceptance of mankind, but when we do it we are acting as if we are God. Getting a tattoo is drawing attention to SELF! For this pastor to get one is drawing attention to himself not Christ. He is trying to say "hey look at who I serve" by pointing at himself,...that is with selfish motives! The whole point of the grace message is that we no longer have external ways of expressing our faith but rather it is a internal, eternal Spiritual salvation and Life in us and expressed by LOVE NOT TATTOOS!!!!!
(ps. it is different if you had them prior to salvation, same reason but different timing.... I am not condemning, I am just teaching you. Also if you got them after salvation, be honest with your self, repent and renew and see the selfish motive of wanting attention for them.)

The church today is not a nation nor a particular denomination or religious thinking. It is Jesus Christ and His body on earth as well as heaven. So think of the church as a living organism instead of a organization. It is a moving, walking and talking organism that shares and serves the head and that is Christ!
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fullness dwell;
And just like your body with cells, fingers and different parts but still one body. Now your body works as one unit yet has different functions. Your fingers pick up things while your hair just sits there. Your inward parts are always pumping blood or breaking down food or things, and other parts work muscles, joints and ligaments but ALL one organism working together.
The Body of Christ works the same, different ministries, and different looks yet all one. 
Rom 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: 5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Now it needs to be said that, that "oneness" always needs to be defined. It is always to be by faith, in grace and by the cross work of Christ, not by Law, works or rituals!
With that said marriage is the same way! Marriage is two people, by different sexes coming together to be ONE BODY! One in Spirit, Soul and Body! Now there can be counterfeits and wrong applications of that one body just like in churches that call themselves Christians and apart of the body BUT ARE NOT!!! They can be perverted churches and marriages! 
Now just like in the Body of Christ there needs to be unity and oneness and that is not by rituals or outward traditions like the communion of crackers and grape juice but rather the communion of unity in spirit and heart in Christ.   
1Co 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
Christ is the bread, not some food we partake in now! We are one with Him in reality not in symbolism as was Israel before the cross! 
1Co 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. ... 25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. ... 27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
You see every week or month or year many come together and partake of a food communion in a church, but they are NOT ONE with the Body of Christ. And many that are IN the Body still look at the symbolism instead of the oneness in Christ! They are still trying to get somewhere instead of knowing that they are already there! Which brings about DIS-EASE!!!!  
Now many marriages are the same way. They are still looking for the spouse to make them complete and feel good and feel loved instead of knowing that they are already loved by the one WHO IS LOVE and then giving that to their spouse! They are DIS-eased! Dis-ease brings schisms and problems because one or both in the marriage are trying to get something...they demand love and demand control. They demand, punish and act like their God by judging the other. They judge the other as being not worthy of their love. "WHO ever gave you the right to be God"? 
Marriage is joints and marrow, head and body, fingers and toes, inside and outside working as one Body to bring GLORY to GOD! And NOT looking for someone to love you as you want but rather giving what you already have to another.

As I talk with those who claim to be believers I often see and hear the same sad "worldly thinking"!!! That thinking that says "I can sin and it is ok because I am under grace"! "IF I am saved then I can fornicate after all God has forgiven me", this type of thinking and attitude!
Paul says this in  Rom 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? ... 15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.
Paul says NO!!! we don't continue in sin just because we are under grace, GRACE empowers us to say NO to sin! Grace says because God loves me I don't need to look for love, acceptance and approval from any one else. GRACE says I deserve death, but He has given me life, and I am so thankful that I don't want to sin.
Paul tells Timothy 1Ti 1:8  But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
Now we are not under law, but the law still does it's job and condemns! The law condemns and gives us the understanding of sin. Other than just selfish behavior in many areas, the number one thing I see so often performed and accepted is fornication. Sexual relationships outside of marriage between a man and a women. So many don't know the boundaries when it comes to the law, and the law is clear don't touch!  Here Paul says in Galatians that sexual immoralality is first in line.... 
Gal 5:19  Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
I would like to say that this is a millennial thing. That they are young and inexperienced and seeking love yet don't understand the bible and God's righteousness, but sadly I see older, even elderly folks living together outside of marriage! 
There are 2 sides to marriage. One is Spiritual and the other is judicial. The Spiritual is under God and the second is under the God who has set up the judicial on earth. The Spiritual keeps the Judicial on track and the judicial shows the wrong and condemns when temptation goes a wry! The marriage under the judicial shows the commitment under the Spiritual! You see the Law is useful even in marriage!
So understand the law, sin and the consequences which is death, and don't live under the law but you are under grace and GRACE IS FREEDOM!!!!
1Co 9:21  To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law.

Who's King?
At times people are very sweet and nice and we think they like us. They say all the right things and we feel comfortable around them. They seem like "good ol' boys" and people we would feel at home with, but we sometimes miss the bigger picture. I think even Stalin, Hitler and Manson would shake your hand and had been nice when you first met them, but all 3 are were murders!!!!
In the gospel of John to the nation of Israel we see that they wanted to make Jesus King by force! Now wait a minute wasn't Jesus sent to be their King? Was He not to set up the Kingdom and be the Messiah King over the world? WHY did He not do it, if that was the goal to begin with? 
John 6:15   When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
Who's King was He going to be, Israel's or GOD'S! Who's King was going to rule, the puppet king of Israel's corrupt nation or God's righteous chosen one.
You see they wanted to make Him King for their self centered rule and use Him. He knew their hearts and what they wanted. He was NOT a men pleaser but a God pleaser!!! He was not going to rule over a Kingdom that did not believe or see Him as the true King and God's righteous one! He was not going to allow them to misuse their religion to manipulate God's faithful people. He was a KING and will be a KING over this world and Israel but it must be done God's way!
Be sure and discern others motives as well as your own. What do they want from you? and what do you want from them? 
Do it God's way for God's reasons and lets give God the Glory!!!

" ye not hear the law"?
Gal 4:21 "Tell me, ye that desire to be under the law, do ye not hear the law"?
I am always sad and shocked when I hear people especially Christians say that we are to "follow" the law! Here are a few examples of the law
Deu 13:6  If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, which is as thine own soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers; ... 9 But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.
Deu 22:20  But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: 21 Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.
These are just a few examples of how hard and strict the law can be. Death by stoning was the norm for these offenses. The shame that would be apart of these procedures were not easy either especially for the women.
Now with that said Paul tells Timothy in 1Ti 1:8  But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; 
The law is good to condemn sinners and ungodliness! Now lets look at another law as is it so appropriate for today! 
Deu 22:5  The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
We live in a age were our laws have actually made it legal and encourages this type of behavior. Presidents have actually said that homosexuals, transvestites and others may now be apart of our armed forces serving together. 
When the so called "equality" of ALL sexes and things are the goals of man we see the decline of Godliness! We see the lowering of God's righteous standards to mans filth and moral decay!
While the law is harsh and we do not follow the law for our salvation we do "hear" the law to condemn unrighteous behavior and sin!!!
Listen folks, "do you hear the Law"?

Who discipled Paul!
Most believers can relate to Peter because they know that he was with Jesus in His earthly ministry.,But did you know that Paul too was with and had seen Jesus. Paul too was discipled by Jesus and was told by Christ to do specific and different things than Peter. Different then John the Baptist and different from the 12 Apostles in fact. 
1Co 15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: 6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep. 7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles. 8 And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
Jesus gave Paul His mission and His instructions. Jesus gave Paul the revelations and therefore the doctrine for the church today. Jesus told Paul what to write and speak and preach. Jesus told Paul and gave Paul the wisdom, power and knowledge. Jesus discipled Paul just as He had with Peter and the 12 apostles. Jesus instructed Peter to go to the circumcision and Paul to the UN-circumcision. Paul's ministry was under grace and contained the mystery, while Peter's was under the law and under the prophecy program. BOTH important and BOTH given particular instructions for their ministry. BOTH had a specific group and church to minister too, but they were different. Confusion comes when we try to put both in the same group and church. AND yes, before you get all mad at me they were and are a different church, assembly and yes they were both saved through Jesus and yes they were both saved by faith as ALL saints are, Old , New and in the Body of Christ but they all receive that salvation through Christ by different ways and instructions.
Now many would then say it does not matter as long as their both saved and there is truth in that, YET if YOU try to be saved by Peter's ministry you would have missed the boat so to speak for it is no longer sailing!!!!
Different ministry, time and to different people will make a difference for you and isn't that important to YOU! Isn't that important for others in your family and church. Isn't that important as you share the Gospel of GRACE and not LAW!!!! While one saves today the other does not!

Follow Righteouness!
Every 4 years we have a election and elect a President. Every 4 years the president changes or we get the same one for another 4 years yet after 8 he's done. So my point is that regardless of the man's beliefs we will have a different one at some point and that man or women may not lead in a godly way. 
BUT regardless of who is president and regardless of what they believe or do we are to "follow after righteousness"!! 
1Ti 6:11  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
2Ti 2:22   Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
We are those who are called to follow after the Lord with a pure heart. We are to follow after righteousness, godliness, faith and Love! We are to be patient, meek and peaceful! We are to take a stand without harming others physically. We are to  FLEE youthful lust, which is not just sexual but any type of physical altercations! We are to live life to the fullest in Christ regardless who is President. We are to live life as Christ lived and How He lives within us now!
2Ti 3:16   All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
We are to correct, rebuke and teach right grace doctrine! We are to instruct others to live in righteousness but we can not physically make them. We are to be soldiers without guns. We are to fight the "good" fight of faith and change hearts by the gospel of Jesus Christ but we do that by the Word of Grace not by force!
The only way to discipline folks today who do not listen nor follow Christ is to separate from them but we do not harm them physically regardless!
Follow Righteousness regardless of  the president and you will have a true faithful heart and peace of mind!

It is always hard to adjust to change. It seems at least for me that I like things a certain way the older I get. I like order and I feel more comfortable when things go my way. When things are just how I like them.
BUT that is not life is it! Life is always changing and new good things come and sometimes bad news and things come that we don't like. It is easy to be comfortable and content when things go my way, but so uncomfortable when things don't go my way. There can be big news like new presidents as well as things that throw me into convulsions, like  when my T.V. won't record the big game!!! HA! And for some of us there will be sickness and cancers and even death.  
This is why we must walk by faith in everything, because things change. 
Hebrews11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 
Faith must be applied in every thing we do and must be applied at that moment as well as daily regardless of change, so that we are prepared mentally and emotionally.
How do we apply faith? 
By renewing our minds! 
Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. 
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 
What do we renew our minds with...? The truth of God!
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
1Co 13:6   Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Eph 5:9  (For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)
1Ti 2:4   Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Phl 4:8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Now we first must be confident and trust that God's word is the truth and that we trust in it above everything else! We then tell our selves over and over until Christ is formed in us!
Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,
And that means that we put off rejection from man and failure in performance and begin to walk in the security and confidence of the victory we already posses!
Tell yourself over and over that you are "a child of God who deeply loved, totally accepted and completely forgiven in Christ!!! 
Don't run from change but embrace the GOD that NEVER CHANGES!!!

Seeking Attention!
Seeking Attention!
Let me be blunt seeking attention is sin. It is self centered and not God centered. It is playing God and saying look at me in some form.  It is all about "ME" and always about myself. I believe that seeking attention is something we all do but it is something that has become so norm that we actually approve and accept in the church today. Sadly when we think of someone who is seeking attention we think of those who yell or act silly like a child seeking the attention of a parent or throwing a fit. While that is true it is not the only way people seek attention. Here is a way Peter explains a way women can seek attention.
1Pe 3:1 Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives; 2 While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear. 3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 5 For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:
By trying to draw attention by being pretty and I would go to the extent of flirting or showing off their bodies.... Now don't get me wrong I am not saying a women can't look nice or were make-up but what I am saying is that it should not be with the intent of or a over usage to get attention. 
Here is another way that has become popular again as it was in the 70's and that is long hair and beards.  
1Cor 11:14 Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?
BUT again Why? Why do men sometimes grow long hair and beards!  The attitude is really saying "No one is going to tell me what to look like and wear"! It is a rebellious attitude. It is saying "I am God and I do whatever I please, can you see that"! "Do you see that I don't care what you think"!!!! "I,I,I is the middle of that thinking!!!
I know that the "Duck Dynasty" guys do it, which does not make it right and it has the same self centered attitude! They are know different then any other man and they are just seeking attention and acting Independent of God and others. (By the way I know of few wives that like it, but even if they do like it that does not make it Ok!)
Now this last one is a very popular way of seeking attention even in the church today and especially among youth leaders/pastors or worship leaders! It is this thinking of saying "look at how spiritual I am by my Tattoo"!!!! Lets read what scriptures say about that too. 
Lev 19:28  Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. 
(By the way I know some saints had tattoos before trusting in the Lord and I am not talking about them, yet seeking attention is what you were doing before you came to the Lord. But I am addressing those who continue to get them and even boast in getting them after coming to the Lord.) 
Now some may say that we are no longer under the Law and we are under grace and that means we can do whatever we want!!! REALLY!!! So it is OK to go STEAL, LIE OR MURDER????? Of course Not!! Lets read what Paul tells Timothy...

You see the law tells us "WE NEED CHRIST"! It condemns us so that we will know what sin is and therefore come to Christ! Notice it says that the Law is for the Lawless and ungodly and disobedient men!!! NOW while we are NOT saved by the works of the law and we are saved by God's Grace being extended to us without works we are still shown by law in the sense of sin, yet not condemned to death or hell!!! Actually the the Law of Love is the only Law per say and it does NOT SEEK IT'S OWN! It does not seek attention! In other words while we don't follow the law it still shows us sin in different ways! 
Seeking attention is Sin and these examples are just a few outward ways of seeing it but all of us lust for love and seek attention in many different ways! Be awake and aware of your sin and how you seek attention and then put-off and put on by renewing your mind by Faith in Christ. God has already accepted you so you don't need to seek attention in fact you can GIVE attention to others!

God's Love produces the fruit of Love!
The bible tells us that God is Love!
1Jo 4:8 .... for God is love
And that Love is the end of the commandment! We have no other Law but to love! 
1Ti 1:5  Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Eph 3:17  That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Now we are to be rooted and grounded in this love! Just like a tree which roots need watering and the deeper it grows the more grounded and secure it becomes. It does not blow over with every rejection or insecurity that comes. It does not bend to false doctrine nor does it falter when tested. The roots grow deeper and wider under the ground were you do not see the roots yet ever more secure then ever.  As that understanding of God's love grows deeper we begin to show that fruit by the spirit. That fruit of the spirit is only found in righteousness, truth and goodness which is godliness!!!
 Eph 5:9  For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; 
By the Spirit comes the fruit of love! 
Gal 5:22  But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Now notice that the fruit is singular. It means that the fruit is LOVE that is expressed and manifested by Joy, peace Longsuffering..... 
Some may argue that fruit is plural, and if that is your thinking then I won't argue with you... yet I have never read a commentary or heard a theologian say other wise, we see in scripture that the plural for fruit is used quite often, to name a few....
2Co 9:10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
Phl 1:11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
2Ti 2:6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
Rev 22:2   In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
I have heard some say I am going over and get some fruit in the store... but the place that your going too is a singular department area that houses fruitS.  
Col 3:14  And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 
Now charity is love but it is the Agape love which means God's Holy, righteous and perfect Love! Not Phileo which is human brotherly love. Oh no this Love is perfect and encompass ALL the characteristics of God! It binds all things together which is His Holiness, Righteousness and Godliness! This Love is found only in and through Jesus Christ!
So Grow deep, stable roots in His Love and you will be a secure and strong saint of God! Able to discern good from evil and give Apape love to others! Giving them what is needed for them most to come to Christ and giving Glory to God!

End of Year!
For all of you that celebrated Christmas in some way I hope you enjoyed what ever that looked like for you. I hope you get some rest from work and get to spend some time with family, friends and above all Christ!
I know this year has been a challenge for all of us and for some a even greater trial  than others. Yet if we give up our rights and our control we find that we can rest in the Lord as we "do" nothing to gain comfort apart from Him. This is so hard at times but it is exactly what hard times are for and that is to bring us to Christ, and to give Him the Glory always and in ALL things!
Don't try to hang on to anything in this life and that means anything, even family, friends or financial things, for they will all go away and we are left standing before God with only our hearts open and transparent!
1Co 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. 
Only our true motivation and hearts will be the issue and many will be surprised at the outcome. Don't be one of those who do not look at themselves honestly nor appraise themselves with a true appraisal but live in a religious bubble of falsehoods! 
Live each day as if you will meet the Lord physically and YET remember that you are with HIm Now Spiritually!!!
Make 2021 a New Year of heart and hope in Christ!

End of Year!
Another year goes by us and we all have had a different year haven't we, and while it may seem harsh we will survive. But I hope that you won't just survive but you will thrive even during these hard times. I hope that you don't just cope but truely grow in being totally content in Christ alone and not in any circumstance, good or bad!
Keep looking at the Hope of Glory in You!!!
Col 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
 Christ is that HOPE! Christ is God's Glory in Human form! Put your heart and mind on the HOPE IN YOU, not in the things you can see, control or not control! FIX your eyes on things above and not on this earth!
Col 3:2  Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 
It is not the giving or receiveing of presents or the visting of family or friends that matter but it is the time we can say Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was concieved by our GREAT GRACIOUS AND LOVING GOD!!!!

We all have felt hurt by someone at some point. We all sin and struggle with things in some way. Our mind struggles to make sense or to justify our actions or even to forgive another. We hurt mentally and emotionally and struggle with hurt, anger or guilt.
Sometimes I think that we believers think we should never feel guilt or rejection or any other emotions but we do. It is normal to feel this way at first and the goal is not to "not" feel that way but to walk through the process when it does happened. The process is very important to learn and to understand so that each time we feel out of sorts with someone or something we know what to do and know WHO to run to!
The bible teaches the process... 
Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Eph 4:22  That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; 23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. ... 10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:
The renewing process takes time in each situation and is different for each person. Don't fall under more guilt for having the feelings to begin with and don't think that it needs to be resolved in your mind in a certain time. Yet let me say that it does take persistence and work to come to Christ and renew your thinking and for emotions to calm down and rest. I always like to use the analogy of a pot of water boiling on the stove.... and when you turn the heat off it will still be boiling and hot for awhile. That is what it is like with our thoughts and emotions. We may turn off the wrong thinking and begin to renew our minds with God's love but our emotions may still be boiling and hot and working for a while. Give it some time but keep renewing, putting on God's love and you will begin to have peace and rest in your emotions. This may take hours or days and at times depending on the issue it may even take months but it will come. 
Be sure and start the process because it will not start on it's own. We each have a responsibility to begin the process each time and we all have to go through it the same way! Be honest with your thoughts and emotions and tell your self the truth always and begin the process of maturing daily in Christ! 
(ps: Just to add,... don't ask God to take the problem away and think that is all that is needed,...but rather recieve what He has already given you and rest in what you do have, and that is His love! You don't need the other person to seek your forgivness or for the problem to go away to have peace, your peace is in Jesus Christ alone!!!) 
Phl 4:4  Rejoice in the Lord alway: [and] again I say, Rejoice. 5 Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

What to do?
Sometimes in life we think that it is so bad that there is no fix for the present day things going on before us. We get depressed and sad at times. We have this covid thing going on and the suffering and dying of it and to add we also had a election and the losing of jobs and businesses and all kinds of other things. I have heard parents say their kids lives are ruined and that they are depressed and feel lost without activities and school. People get upset when a loved one goes to the hospital and they can't be with them. Some are having babies and some are sick and some are dying. Some die without any one there to be with them nor to say good by to them and all of this is hard for us to deal with, but it does tell us some things about ourselves.
It tells us what we really are thinking and putting our thoughts on doesn't it.  As it says in 1Cor 14:25  And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.  
The secrets of the heart can be seen in us who fear and are looking at this life. When we are sad, depressed or anxious for life and things we have put our hearts in the wrong place and we need to adjust our thinking. Nothing is of more value  in this earthly realm compared to Christ and the heavenly realm! We deserve nothing good given to us yet God has provided life though His Son Jesus! We say we deserve death yet when it really come down to it we cry out "this is so unfair". 
Let us put our faith were our mouth is so to speak. Lets walk by faith knowing that we have a far greater place then this. Let us be Spirit driven instead sight driven! Let us remember that this year has been bad in the natural but I think it has driven many a people to the Lord! Let yet drive you back into the Fathers arms and feel comforted with His love and His voice!

Covid, 2020 and do you think you deserve better!
I often think how spoiled and soft we are today!  Robin and I talk about how we whine and cry about everything and how we think we deserve more and better.
Lets read what Paul went through, just for the ministry aside from any personal things. 
2Co 11:23 Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool ) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft. 24 Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one. 25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep; 26 In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren; 27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches. 29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not? 30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.
Prison, shipwrecked and robbers are enough for me but add in being beaten and stoned not once but 3 times. Whipped almost 200 stripes across his back and body. His body must have felt like mush after a while. He had no pain reliever per say and no nurse helping him feel better. He ate little and for sure it was not pizza! He was cold and no clothes to keep him warm. He was alone most of the time or leading a small group of pastors going through the same things as he did and probably seeking his attention at the same time. He was teaching people who did not want to learn or be corrected. They disrespected him and his ministry. They did not want to follow his doctrine nor his authority. They fought him and rejected him over and over and theses were his fellow Christians not his enemies! And in the end He had nobody around when he died and no grand funeral!!
So the next time you think you have it rough in this year of covid ....stop and think about Paul and then tell yourself I don't have it so bad! Simplify your life and rest and receive from God as well as be THANKFULL for being IN CHRIST!!!

Ecclesia means the called out assembly of believers! It is the church and is not a particular organization in fact it is not a organization at all but a living organism, called the Body of Christ. Jesus is not a building but He is alive being born of natural birth but completely spiritual in nature. He is God by Spirit and nature and was human by Body as well completely sinless and Holy! The church is a living, breathing and moving organism contained in people not mortar!
The ecclesia is who we are in Christ. Therefore any form of fellowship and gathering of 2, 3, or 300 does not matter for it is the Body and ecclesia of Christ.
Mat 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. 
Don't get caught up in these denominational type church's . Don't think that you have to go to a building with a cross on top, with 4 songs and 30 minuets of preaching from a pulpit and then out you go, Oh No!!!!!
Rom 16:5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house.....  
1Co 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord,
with the church that is in their house.
Col 4:15 Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.
Any place will do with any one who believes and calls upon the Lord Jesus Christ is of the Body of Christ! Meet in your home, your office or in the park it does not matter! No tithes or offerings are required nor any other ordinances needed, just show up!!! Make the Word the priority as well as Jesus Christ and you are "IN" CHURCH!!!

Biblical Christian Counseling
There are a lot of different counselors just like there are a lot of different churches and pastors. One church believes this and another church opposes that belief. Many pastor and yes even grace pastors don't believe in counseling or they think every counseling is secular counseling which is not true! Many pastors think they counsel from the pulpit only or they will meet only  3-4 times with a person and is usually just helping someone through that one issue and they try to just fix the issue instead of teaching the people to live in Christ!
In other words they don't really teach the people how to live in Christ, they teach them to work even more. True Christian counseling takes time and consistent teaching until Christ is formed in the believer before you can really get to the issue.
A good saying is "if you have not changed your "will", you are of the same mind "still"!!! In other words if your will has not moved toward God and you are not saved or walking after the spirit you will behave the same sinful fleshly way even if the issue goes away. THE ISSUE is NOT the problem but the WILL IS!!!
Don't make the mistake of thinking that if the issue is resolved or everything "seems" better that your heart or the other persons heart is different! It does not matter if you are successful, rich, poor  or powerful, LOST IS LOST, AND sin is sin!
True Biblical Christian counseling is walking with the person regardless of time and then teaching, correcting and rebuking as well as constant exhorting, encouraging and edifying the believer to know his Identity in Christ and reaching out in righteous love toward others. This reaching out is not just being nice but rather teaching, preaching and yes counseling the next person, just as Christ did the 12 and just as Christ did from heaven toward Paul! A perfect way of seeing this is how Paul taught Timothy and then how Timothy shared with others.
2Ti 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. 
2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
The Body has in many ways failed because it has not first grasp the right doctrine!  and 2. it has failed to disciple and disciple correctly, meaning to do more one on one or small groups that speak into one another's life. Preaching and Teaching a lesson is good but it only informs the believer it does not rebuke, correct nor discipline the saint! Informing the saint is only the first step, the second step is watching, listening and correcting! It is rebuking, exhorting and instructing over and over and over.......... ...until the fruit of righteousness is lived, seen and given to others!
The Body has failed,... because just as the world always wants more the church has made the mistake that bigger is better! The reality is that we have a lot of babies and orphans in the Body of Christ and so the Body look weak is weak in many different ways!
If you want to grow in God's grace and have victory get one on one discipleship counseling.  You can also support those that do counsel the word, by being a prayer and financial partner with them. Just as any church needs support so also does a counseling ministry. There is no difference in fact in these ministries and if  churches were doing their jobs there may not need other ministries. YET as I always say the church is not a building or denomination, it is people, saints in a living Body and That Body is Christ! There is no such thing as a Para church ministry there is just ministry!

I enjoy lifting weights and walking. I have been a competing weightlifter over the years and enjoy competing mostly with my self, But I have a tendency to over train and then feel exhausted afterwards.  I take to many sets to failure and pushing myself to far, ( and sin is involved in that mind set by the way.) After I am done working out I am so exhausted that I sometimes can't do the things that I need to do. I need to get some other work done but I am just to tired and therefore have lost the purpose of exercise and the purpose of the other work.
Setting priorities and boundaries and then sticking to them is important for me. Other wise I just keep going in the wrong direction. Stopping when I achieve a certain amount of sets or weight or walk a certain distance is good enough, especially since I am no longer competing. It really is silly to push so hard at my age and for what reason. I am convinced that we compete for sinful reasons anyway!
If my energy is depleted by working out then I have no energy to do what is more important. This is one reason I read and study before I exercise.
1Ti 4:7  But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. 
You see we can put many things before God and godliness. We can exercise or work or put family and school activities  before Christ. We can do most anything before God but what profit are those things. Spiritual exercise gives us peace, joy and security within which is what we are really looking for in all the other things we do.
Have fun, work hard but give God the respect, priority and attention He deserves and you will reap a full, complete and satisfactory workout for Life!
Give your ENERGY to God and in "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him". Col 3:17

What's on your mind?
As voting for the president is on most of our minds we see a enormous amount of mail and ads going on. Most of us and too many in my opinion, talk about politics to much. It is easy to say this and say that about who we like or dislike. It is easy to become bitter with government and authority in general. From the time we were little we said we did not want to be controlled by our parents or any authority. Fighting for freedom and independence so that we can do whatever we want whenever we want seems to be engrained in our fleshly sinful self so easily. We want to be independent from God and be our own god. Funny in a very sad way is to look at the mess we have made of this world by our own independence!
What you do and say is a direct line to your thinking. IF you seem to talk or post mostly about politics then you are consumed with it. If you talk and post mostly about family then you are consumed with family and probably idolize family above God. AND yes some may say if you talk and post mostly about God then you may be consumed about God or Godly things
... BUT if I have to choose what I am going to think and be consumed about, I hope it is God!
Col 1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

Today I am having my sprinkler system for the lawn completely over hauled. New lines put in with bigger and more solid material so that it won't leak anymore. It cost us a lot of money when it leaks and then to patch everything cost to fix that. 
Patch work cost no matter what the problem is. Patch work is what you do to stop the bleeding before you get someone to the hospital but you don't want to do that daily or the person could die and it is a lot of work.
That reminds me of how Israel had to work under the law. They had to bring a animal and sacrifice it for the remission of sins, but it was not permanent. Patch work....
Heb 10:4  For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 
That patch work was a type of thing to take away sins but not complete. But we see in Hebrews 10:8  Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: 12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; 13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. 14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.  
Christ died for ALL sins once and for ALL! ALL sins of the past and future of every man! No more patch work!
Rom 3:25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 
Once you have trusted in Christ, you do not need to fear or keep thinking you are bleeding out in spirit and have lost your salvation. You are healed completely in spirit. No more patches for your spirit. Just keep telling your yourself I am saved and secure in Christ and Live in the Newness of Life in Christ!

The Lonely Mission!
Loneliness is something we all may feel. Often times we feel lonely even when around family or friends. We may actually be alone at times. Elderly people often feel lonely because they have lost their spouse and even remarry at a old age just because they are lonely. 
We all can struggle at times with this loneliness. Although I don't feel lonely I can think and feel loneliness when it comes to writing these devotionals. When I don't hear from people I don't know if they read them or like them and therefore don't know if I should continue at times. I would love to hear from you all, BUT....
Lets hear how Paul handled loneliness.....
2Ti 4:6  For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. ... 16 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge.  
Paul knew that he was going to be with the Lord soon. His final days before his death were at hand. He probably felt lonely at times. He say in verse 16 "... no man stood with me, but all men forsook me..." . In other words he was alone. Sometimes we can feel alone if we "stand alone" even when people are there,... if they all stand against you then you can feel alone!
BUT Paul says even in this 
2Ti 4:2  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
... 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Paul kept preaching and doing the work that he was called to do to the end. He says in verse 17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. 
Paul's MISSION was kept by preaching and teaching so that all gentiles might hear and know JESUS CHRIST AS THEIR SAVIOUR!!!  You have a MISSION also dear saint so even if you feel alone and are the lone believer in your family or among your friends just keep proclaiming Jesus as you rest in Him and IN HIM ALONE! Even if You are the only one that knows the grace doctrine and have experienced the forgiveness and love of Christ, keep Receiving from God and Reaching out to others and Just so you know you are NOT ALONE!!!

Cycles of despair!
So often we all go through cycles of despair! We are sad or depressed and struggle in life. You have probably went through this your self in some form. Now some might not be as bad as others and some may say it is nothing while some may say it is devastating and seek counseling or even medication.
Now the medical community has known this for a long time and take advantage of this by giving meds out like candy it seems. Our children get medicated for everything now and I have found that in every home of every child their is a element of dysfunction! Now when I say dysfunction I mean sin and when I say sin I mean divorce or no male/dad in the home. Or a insecure, dominate and controlling mom who babies or coddles the children and does not allow the dad to lead. Or a over aggressive father who beats or puts down the kids or a weak leader of the home. Some parents do not spend time with their children and leave the child to do whatever they please. The parent is to busy trying to fix their own lives that the children are left to figure out the standards of life on their own without boundaries. This is what sin can do to all of us with all our parents.
Because we all sin and every parent fails in some way we all can be affected by this cycle of despair!. Yet the solution and answer for all is the same, Jesus Christ! God knew this and showed His love for us by sending Jesus to the cross!
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 
and God loves us so much.... Eph 2:4   But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 
The rejection cycle is used as a term to tells us that we are walking in despair and death! While all sin is death in some form,  we could call it the death cycle, the flesh cycle or sin cycle. We could call it the self centered cycle ALL would have elements of truth in calling them that but the point is that it does not matter what you call it but that this despair, this cycle "feels" bad and it seems real! And as feelings go it is real, but a far as God goes it is a LIE!!! If your a Christian that is truly saved then you are sealed in His love! You are secure in His love! You are sanctified which means set apart and separated from this world in His love!!! You are Accepted and Approved in His love! You are His and He is your Protector and Provider! He is your Father and He is your Daddy! You are not the same person you were, you are a New creation! You do not need another persons acceptance or approval! You don't need to seek attention from man because you have the attention of God Almighty!!! You don't need to walk in shame or guilt or fear of failure or fear what others think of you. You do need not to perform or the approval of others to feel loved and valued!
STOP walking in a cycle of despair, death and destruction and START walking in the LOVE, LIGHT and LIBERTY that you have in CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD! 
How do you do that by RENEWING THE MIND!!!!! RENEW DAILY with the truth that you are Loved by God! That you are accepted in Him and that you do not need others acceptance, approval or affection! You do not need attention in order to feel valued! You do not need Appreciation in order to feel like you accomplished something! 
RENEW your mind with the truth of God and start walking in the CYCLE OF HOPE, FAITH AND LOVE!!!
1Co 13:13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity
