(All scripture is from the KJV)
Eph 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savior.
We are to walk in love! Oh how Christ loved us and still does love us, so walk in that love! When we walk in that love we smell great to God because Christ was a sweetsmelling sacrifice unto God!
The sacrifices in the Old and in the future will bring great and sweetsmells unto God, but for now in this dispensation we are to bring ourselves unto God through Christ. We show our difference in smell by NOT being apart of the world. By NOT walking after the flesh and joining in these acts!
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; 4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. 5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. 7 Be not ye therefore partakers with them.
God's love is pure, holy and righteous! Christ showed us God's love, just as He loved us also!!!
So walk in God's love by putting on God's love and knowing Christ love for you and then separating your self from these thoughts, acts and others who do such things,
AND most of all GIVE THANKS unto GOD!!!!

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:
So often people want to talk. They want to argue, because they hate to fail and feel rejected! We all think we have the right to express ourselves, how we want and as much as we want, but the problem is if we are talking we are not LEARNING!!!! To often when being corrected or rebuked we want to justify ourselves. We want to tell our side of why we did what we did.
Can you imagine for a second if you were in the Army and your Sergeant gave you a order and then you said something like "why should I do that"? "What is the point, Sergeant"? "Do I have too"??? You would be pealing potatoes for months or cleaning toilets forever and reprimanded or worse!
You see we can't learn if we are being self willed, self centered or selfish in explaining our selves. We also will not be obedient to what we are to do when we need to do it! Obedience by faith is what is important not justifying ourselves. Justifying ourself stops us from growing, knowing and receiving God's grace and love by faith!
Start listening more and talking less then walk by faith daily and when corrected just receive it!

2Ti 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
The world look for counseling and sadly so does the church in all the wrong places. So often I see pastors who pass their folks onto secular counseling instead of doing it themselves. I believe that every pastor as well as every Christian should do some form of one on one counseling which is really discipleship.
Now most believers will seek help for counseling if their marriage is in trouble. Or if some other type of issue comes up and that is good but really that is just a part and a phase of discipleship.
Counselors, teacher and pastors as well as all saints should first share the gospel message of the cross. Salvation should come first then counseling then discipleship. Now all of this is really discipleship and it just teaching the word of God until Christ if formed in the believer. Until they are mature and teaching others.
Paul taught Timothy who taught faithful men who then taught others.... If you are a believer and have not been taught nor are teaching others get help and start being a disciple who disciples others!

Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.
Yes I said the "S" word! When I say the word submit most people and especially women cringe! They hate that word  but the reality is that it is a great word and just so you know ALL of us have to submit to someone! Men as well as women submit to some sort of authority. Men submit to God first and then all authority at work, government and yes even the church. Women submit to God and to their husbands. Children to God and to parents...
I always ask women which is easier to submit too, God which they do not see or a husband they can see. Everyone I have ever asked said God, but the scriptures says different.
1Jo 4:20  If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?
Yes the word here in this verse is love and about loving someone but when we submit we love and shows us that if we can not submit to someone we see we will never submit to God to whom we don't see. Now some may say "I submit to God all the time"! REALLY prove it! Do you submit your thoughts ALL the time? Do you never sin? Do you ALWAYS DO what God tells you to do in EVERY thought and action!!! You see submission shows us a lot about ourselves and about our hearts.
Submission means to "come under" the mission of another. We are to "come under" the authority of the author of Life, Jesus Christ! We are to yield, obey and come under God's control and direction not our own! We are to "Sub" under His Mission through Jesus Christ.
Submission teaches all of us and shows others especially our kids how to respect each other. How to listen, talk and share life. Most often people are so insecure that they think about themselves and never respect, honor or love another by listening to others.
Learn to submit to God's Mission through Christ and you will have the freedom you always desired.
Eph 5:22  Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. 29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: 30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. 31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

Godliness and Righteousness!
1Tim 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
I am often asked what is the difference between Godliness and Righteousness!
Godliness means the reverence, respect and piety unto God! It also means devout, loyal and obedience unto a Holy God!
Often times it is said and used as a way of saying "act or behave like God"!
Now righteousness is really the result of being Godly! It means to be pure, right and correct in either possession or acts. Christ was pure, holy and perfect and we have that same pure, holy and perfectness given to us by Christ through the Holy Spirit. But we also can see righteous acts and behavior by what we do. The fruit of Godliness is righteousness! Christ "IS GODLY" so He is "Righteous"!
God will only accept Righteousness and we find this only through His Godly Son!!!

Love without God is Sin!!!
The world and even churches, pastor and teachers say we need to love others more!! It seems they push it and tell us to strive for love YET, it is as if man just does not know how to love at all. Now there is some truth in that BUT we miss something. We miss the definition of love.  GOD IS LOVE!!!
1 John 4:8 ..... for God is love.
AND because we are always told to love and always striving to love we actually miss love all together! How can a Non believer love without God,... after all the bible tells us in  Rom 14:23 .....for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. They are not "in faith" they are not saved! You must be saved in Christ before you can truly Love. Sadly this is the same way with saved saints in Christ. They behave like unbelievers by trying to love without faith!
Most people are reactionary. In other words they are reacting to what someone else says or their actions! They want to love so when the other person sins they coddle them. They do not lead others to God but rather they do things to be nice and protect themselves in the name of love. They seek attention or say things that make them "feel" better, but that is not love, that is LUST! Self centered love is really lust.
For instance telling someone you love them with confronting or correcting them and then letting them die in their sins without ever telling them about God and that their sin is killing them is lust!
We are told to love and the only Law today is the Law of Love, but without faith love becomes lust. After all without faith, God is not involved and if God is not involved WHO gets the glory?

What is your purpose in life? Most Christians struggle with this. Many think in external ways like," what am I to do today" or "what is my ministry"? Notice the words in these verses.
Rom 8:28   And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Eph 1:11  In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Eph 3:11   According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
2Ti 1:9  Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
"God's purpose, His purpose and His will! The "Eternal purpose in Christ" and "In Christ before the world began"!!! God's purpose is to save people and to give life through His son Jesus Christ.
You see it is not what you do for a living or a ministry, but rather in everything you do, do it all for God and His purpose! If you happend to be a carpenter great, so praise God as you build the house and share the good news of the gospel with your co workers. If  you are a stay at home mom share with your kids and if you go to the store share the gospel of Jesus Christ or just pray for the cashier! Wherever you go and what ever you do is a ministry and has purpose!
Just remember God's purpose is to save and give Life through Jesus Christ and your purpose is to do God's purpose!

Rom 13:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour. 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Today is a day we honor civil rights by calling it Martin Luther King Day. Now it is always interesting to me how man always tends to miss the mark just slightly and then pervert God's word.
Now I have nothing against MLK directly. My doctrine is different than his and so i don't agree with him there but I don't have anything major against MLK per say. BUT again man lifts up a man before God or before a cause. Down through history man has built buildings and cities which God told man NOT to do. They have named those cities after man and honored man which God told them NOT to do.  God is the one we should praise, worship and honor not man!
We are told though to respect ALL men and Love all men. It is interesting to me that the ones who yell the most for respect are the ones who generally do not give it!
You don't have to agree with all men but you can respect them for they are God's creation regardless if they know, worship or honor God! We can teach, correct and rebuke as well as warn, exhort and encourage but we are always to Love and Respect all people regardless of Sex, Race or Religion.

Gal 1:14  And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
Have you ever heard a unbeliever say after someone dies, "well she is in a better place now"! Or "they are looking down on us and with us all the time"! Yet if you ask them if they think there is a God or if the are saved they would say "No, I don't believe in a heaven or hell or a God! Even so called Christians say these things yet their works and lives show them to be not genuine.
Tit 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
I always think then if there is no heaven then what better place are these people at! Or if they are with us now after death why can't I see them and were are they looking down from? You see the very idea of being somewhere else after death comes from the Word, AND the understanding that there is a spiritual place comes from God.
You see the things we have been told by man or our own beliefs begin to form traditions of speech and thought and then we begin to live by them, but that does not mean they are true! The traditions of man bring religion!
They bring about some sort of spiritual belief but with out any real life to them. They sound spiritual and we think we are being humble but it is just false humility!
Col 2:23  Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
You see mans traditions bring religion but true faith and hope is only in Christ and His Word!

Col 2:20   Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Religion says I must do things! Relationship says I am so thankful to be with Jesus.
Religion says I must go to church and sit, stand and be good, (but i don't want to!) Relationship I get to spend time with my Lord and Savior! I get to pray and dwell on His love. I am privileged to know Him and thankful for Him!
Religion says I have to follow certain ordinances and certain church things and say certain things in order to be saved, accepted and fellowship with God! And when I fail and sin I must jump through a bunch of hoops again and again in order to be forgiven! Relationship says I am saved by faith and that I am forgiven by faith in Christ works at the cross. I don't need to jump through hoops but I am already forgiven and I just need to walk by faith. I want to walk by faith and I want to receive God's love and acceptance. Relationship says that by giving myself to Him I have done the greatest act of faith I can do. It is not my works but by His works that I do nothing to be saved or relate to Him!
Don't get caught up in religion! God is a Father who wants to spend time and relate with you. Religion kills, relationship with Christ brings LIFE!!!!

The word religion takes on many meanings. It can mean to some "what I believe" or it can mean a certain type of theology! But from the bible's point of view it means a "external works of ceremonies and discipline"! Paul even said in
Gal 1:13 For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
Paul (who was called Saul at that time) was trying to do "good" from a external, works point of view and destroy the saints in Christ. He was doing something he thought was right by trying to kill and destroy Christians. Now Paul was a Pharisee Act 26:5  Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
So he knew the Law and did the ceremonies. He loved the "Religion" but it was not what God was doing at that time and it was the external works and not a internal heart or faith in the living Messiah.
Religion says "DO" and most Christians want to perform the law and "do" religion. They want to "do" ceremonies and "do" things that look spiritual. Even those who are not saints at all want to "do" religion and be good. And if they "do" good then they "feel" good about themselves and therefore they are justified before their "own" eyes! They think they are justified before God too but they are not!!!!!
Sadly they look like Saul, "doing" external things that are trying kill and destroy the Body of Christ!

2Cor 11:10   As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia
Paul says that the truth of Christ is in Him, meaning Christ is in Him and that he has received the revelation and truth by Christ and therefore it is in Him. It also means that the power and wisdom of God through Christ is in Him as the Spirit lives in Him. Paul was baptized into Christ by the Spirit just as you are if you are saved!
Because this power is in Christ and Christ in you, you too have this truth within you. You have to use it and appropriate it by your mind and get the understanding by the Word in to your heart, but you have that same truth in you.
Now I want you to understand this and then dwell on it and then do it!!! I want you to say to yourself what Paul said to the Corinthian church. He said  "NO MAN SHALL STOP ME"!!!!!!
NEVER EVER let someone stop you from believing and speaking out about JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD!!!! SHOUT IT, PREACH IT and never ever stop!!! Don't fear man, because you have been accepted by God in Christ!!! GOD IS BIG, man is small so tell the world that JESUS LOVES THEM and died for them. That they too can have eternal Life through JESUS CHRIST!!!

1John 2:15 KJV  Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
While we know that ALL the bible is written "FOR" us it is not all "TO" us. In other words 75% of the bible is written to the nation of Israel. 1 John is one of those books written "to" Israel for their last days through that tribulation period. The doctrine has changed back, but our doctrine is still that grace doctrine found in that revelation of the mystery given to Paul.
Now with that said though there are principles through out all of scripture that we can gain from. For instant here where John says do not love this world. The world ideas, thinking and principles are self centered, Satan controlled and arrogant. This world wants to have put in law or ideas that are perverted to God's laws. God's standard is the standard we are to follow.
Notice verse 16 uses the word "Lust, Lust and Pride"! All 3 of those words come from the word covet which means to take for selfish, self -centered reasons! Lust does not mean just sexually but means to desire and take for self.
Don't listen to the worlds standard of "love" because it is not love is LUST! God's is Love and He is righteous! Love is always Righteous, Godly and Holy or it is not Love!!!!
If you Lust or are prideful repent, by faith, renew, with a changed mind unto God. Walking by Faith and in His love not seeking love and lusting after someone or something other than God!
