I recently read a blog post by a minister. He said that he was tired and wanted to take a sabbatical ( a rest or break) from ministry because he had given so much. He said he had many say that his counseling and teaching ministry had helped them and that they thought it was so needed in the Body today! That they do not know what they would have done without his ministry. YET he went on to say that while many regarded his ministry as what reconciled them to God and their marriage or family many did not support financially! He said that he thought many just believe and say " the ministry will get by without them giving because God will take of him"!

Now I can relate to that in many ways because I hear the same thing from those I help too! So many want help but refuse to give to help the ministry help others. YET as Paul said that Jesus said: " it is better to give than to receive"!
God never promised you or me financially anything for being in the ministry or for sharing the gospel in any way! What he did say was share with a grateful, thankful, loving heart!

1Cor 9:16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! 17 For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. 18 What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. 19 For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.

Fear of Failure!
Gen 3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

If you have followed or heard me teach you would know that I use the Genesis 3 passage a lot! It is after all were we are introduced to the problem man has today, SIN! Now we all sin, but today I want to touch on one particular sin! One that affects us all in some form and that is the Fear of Failure!

Since we all sin we are all guilty! God says in Rom 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God",...! AND since we all fall short and are guilty we have FAILED!!! We all are failures in some form, no matter how successful we are in anything! And because of pride we hate to fail and work hard to succeed, only to fear failure and punishment from others, ourselves or God! We try to not fail and then turn around and do it again and again! So just face it you are going to fail! You are going to sin!

YET, God has given us a way to be a success and successful and that is by a judicial act on God's part!
Rom 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
God has justified us through Christ blood!
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Justified means in short to be made "RIGHT"! You are Ok, accepted and in good standing with God! He delights in giving you life, love and liberty through His Son, Jesus! He enjoys being with you!

So since we have been justified through grace by faith in Christ sacrificial death and blood! So ALL our sin and guilt is on that cross! WE No longer NEED TO FEAR FAILURE!
So we are a success even if we do not "perform" well! We are in Christ and Christ is in us! And CHRIST IS SUCCESS!!! Failing and failure is NOT WHO YOU ARE, but WHO YOU ARE IS A SUCCESS BY CHRIST!
Stop trying to "BE" good enough and a success on your own and without God! Just realize WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST ALREADY! SLOW DOWN, and learn to be CONTENT IN CHRIST!

Sinners or Saints?
Some one asked me this week how should Christians think of themselves? Sadly most Christians read and see them selves as the Old covenant describes Israel! They see how God constantly rebuked and how they rebelled against God! They see themselves how Jesus described the Pharisees and then say they are not any better then they! They think of them selves as Paul described "EVERYONE" in Romans 3 as always "...come short..." and "dirty rotten sinners", like the "worm" in the Old Test!

Now when a person see's themselves like that and says that over and over that tells you/us what they believe! AND THAT is THAT they do not understand this "NEW CREATURE" THAT THEY ARE!! That do not know really what Christ did on the cross for them! That He has made them righteous and that God "delights" in His children now! That He delights in giving life and love to them!! That it is HIS pleasure to be with and want to spend time with them!!! He has made us NEW and HOLY and RIGHTEOUS!!! JUST as RIGHTEOUS as HIS OWN SON!!!
Sadly the person that still sees themselves as the lowly worm and sinner is STILL SELF RIGHTEOUS!!! You are not a sinner because you sin, you are a sinner because you were born that way, so you sin!!!! BUT NOW you are a holy, righteous SAINT IN CHRIST! To think different is sin and self righteous based on your works not HIS!!!
STOP beating your self up and trying to be "sinless" and "good enough" for God! After all you CAN'T do it and 2 HE has already done the work for you!!!
Walk as a SAINT and not a sinner and give to others instead of being self focused on being "good enough"!!!

3 things to help you study the bible!
Hope you all are doing well today!

Here are 3 things you can to help you study the bible! When reading and studying the bible always,
1. take the bible literally! Meaning that what it says it what it means! (there are only a few verse that you don't take that way! For instance when it says to cut off your hand or poke your eye out! DON'T DO THAT!!!
But for the most part take what it says "FOR WHAT IT SAYS"!!!
2.Always compare verses to other verses! Most verses have other verses that back up or shed light on other verses! If you don't understand a verse find a concordance and compare it to another and it will usually bring clarity!
3. Be sure and be dispensational!!!!! This is the number one thing that will bring clarity to the scripture and clear up confusion! What is written to and for Israel is different then what is to and for the Body of Christ and gentiles today! Don't mix the two! 80% of the bible is written to and for Israel but that 20% left over is of GREAT IMPORTANCE TO YOU!!!!

Get help when you need to and ask questions of one another! Don't take the standard church answers until there is clear understanding! The bible is laid out for us as it is written!!!!
as always in grace,

Eph 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; 19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.

It is sad to me when I hear pastors and teachers that are afraid to be BOLD in their sermons! When I hear them back down from making a stance against immoral, sinful behavior! They may say that it is not good for you but do not say it is sin! They may say we need to befriend them and tell them we love them YET we still do not share the gospel with them...THATS NOT LOVE!!! When things like homosexuality is running throughout the church yet without any restraint by the fact in many of the "so called" church's, the orthodox or protestant church's, their are homosexuals pastors!!!

Paul says to pray for him so that he may speak BOLDLY!!! He says that pray for him to make known the Gospel of the mystery unto all and upon all peoples of this world! The mystery that Jesus Christ died and rose for your SINS! The first part and a very important part in being saved is that you know that you are a sinner who needs to be saved! A sinner who's deserves God's wrath and who has been extended grace through Christ cross!!!

So pastors and leaders please be BOLD and speak the truth so that those who are lost and in sin, even the sin of homosexuality may be saved and have victory in life!

AND YOU WHO are NOT in leadership remember this verse...
Phl 1:14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Pray for our leaders!
I rarely ever say anything about politics because to me while they are important they are not the most important! Sharing and preaching the word of God is what is on my heart and is the only thing that will change men's heart anyway including our leaders!

SO in these turbulent times we often think we are in the worst of times and begin to fear or be angry at what is going on in Washington and around the world! BUT let me tell you that while these may seem hard and that there is a spiritual battle going on, there have been worst times in believers history!

Lets take Daniel for instance! Daniel was taken captive when he was 14 approx. and never saw freedom again! Now yes at times he was not in prison all those years but he also could never be free to leave or not be under a oppressive King either! YET Daniel was always faithful to God no matter what!

Paul too was beaten and in prison for his faith but never waivered and in fact told us, as well as practiced, praying for the leaders!

In 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

AND IN Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.

PETER says 1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. 15 For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
... 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward. 19 For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. 21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

While I know it hard at times not to be mad or upset or even fear what may be going on today, just stay grounded in His Word! Don't get caught up in the world's politics but rather receive from God and give by praying for our leaders!

Remember regardless of what happens you are in Christ and He is in you!

give God the glory,

We do sin, and there is life, but....
Judges 16:28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes. 29 And Samson took hold of the two middle pillars upon which the house stood, and on which it was borne up, of the one with his right hand, and of the other with his left. 30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines. And he bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell upon the lords, and upon all the people that were therein. So the dead which he slew at his death were more than they which he slew in his life.

Most of us know the story of Samson, how he from childhood was chosen to be a Nazarite unto God. Now a Nazarite is one who has dedicated his life to God and one of the distinctive things is that He does not cut his hair! Now Samson is very courage's and was chosen by God to be a deliver of Israel from the Philistines! He fought lions and killed a thousand Philistines with a jawbone of an ass!

Now like any other man, he could be tempted and seduced by a women and sin! This women named Delilah was then offered 1100 pieces of silver to find out what the strength of Samson was and then tell the Philistines how to capture him. Sadly he told her and he was eventually captured! The Philistines mocked him and put out his eyes and said "see our god Dagon has delivered our enemy into our hands"!!

Now while Sampson sat in bondage eventually his hair grew back and he called out to God it says in Judges 16:28 And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes....30 And Samson said, Let me die with the Philistines.

You see even in the Old test. God honors those who will humble themselves to be faithful and worship Him. Samson was lost for awhile but even from that God gave him victory! Sampson paid the price for his sin but Sampson went on to destroy the Philistines through the power of God and was WILLING TO LOSE EVERYTHING, EVEN HIS LIFE!!!

We must sometimes be willing to LOSE TO WIN!!! When we get to the point that we will lose everything for God then and really only then will we be saved and have Victory in life! Now by faith we saved, yes, yet so many believers live life on the fence, not really committed to God and with one foot on the wrong side! While being saved, but living a self centered life! Just like Samson loss what he had, he finally gained LIFE IN DEATH!
Are you willing to die to live?

for you in love,

Dan 3:16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. 17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Here in Daniel is a great example for us to understand and to grow in! Israel had been unfaithful and God allowed them to be taken captive, thus starting as Jesus said "the Times of the Gentiles"! Now the King of Babylon had made a image and commanded everyone to worship it! This image was really him and he had said that if anyone would not bow and worship it they would be burned in a fiery furnace! Now Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were Jews and would not bow down and worship the image and so the king was mad! They said our God will deliver us from the furnace or He won't but either way we will not worship any other God!

This is how you want to be! Regardless of your circumstances DO NOT COMPROMISE WHO YOU SERVE! Do not compromise WHO IS YOUR GOD!!! Now that does not mean you can't approach things in different ways. BUT it does mean that you will stay loyal and faithful despite any loss! Jesus lost His life in stating "I AM THE SON OF GOD"!

Breathe "CHRIST" in and out!
The bible says in Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

So God breathed into Adam and he became a living soul! A man who had life and could live as unto God! Sadly Adam chose not too and we have inherited that same nature! Now we too have a choice to breath in ever lasting LIFE through Christ! Now by faith we may receive life in Him!

In the movie the Karate Kid, the older man says to the younger when he was going though some problem to always return to the basic of life, breathing! He says to him, "NO BREATHE NO LIFE"! "Breathe in nose and blow out mouth " he tells him!

SO breathing is a 2 step process we breathe in and breathe out! We need to breathe in Christ and receive life daily! We need to breathe in through our nose, illustrating life from the one source Christ and breathe out our mouths to another source, people!!!!

NOW we can breath out other things as it says here in Psalm 27:12 IT SAYS Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
We can breathe out cruelty, hate and vengeance! We can breathe out bitterness and self centeredness! We can breathe in the stench of self protection and rejection and breathe out fear, shame and guilt!

Lets not do that!
Go back to the basics of "LIFE",

to God be the glory,

Helping you grow in your faith!
1Thes 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

I find myself praying and thinking about you all more and more! I ask myself how can I help build your faith? How can I minister to you what may be lacking in your faith? I often find that saints don't know the scriptures very well but they do know that Christ died for them and that is all they know and so live in shame, guilt and fear most of the time! NOW knowing that He died for them is good but it is not all and even that may be built on wrong doctrine or beliefs handed down through religion or even our parents!

AND so I want to help you and others as much as possible with good sound doctrine! Good sound words of truth!
Paul told Titus in
Titus 1:9 Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.
Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

So if you have questions you would liked answered or know others that might like or need these devotionals tell them about how to sign up or add them to our list so that we may minister to them.

The point is to help you and others live the Victorious Christian Life in Christ and that comes from through faith in sound doctrine!

Let me hear from you,
for God's Glory,

Prayer and the Mystery of the Gospel!

Paul had a regular prayer life! He prayed constantly for the church! He wanted them to have the freedom and salvation that he knew only comes through Jesus Christ! So he prayed for the Saints!

He also asked for prayer! You see while we pray for others it is ok to ask for prayer for ourselves too! Now some saints ONLY pray for themselves and ONLY ask for prayer for themselves! Sadly this is one sided! In everything we do there should be a giving and receiving! We should pray for others and ask for prayer!

BUT here in Ephesians Paul asked for specific prayer! He asked that he saints pray for him to open his mouth boldly to make this mystery known! He wanted to tell others about this mystery in Christ! The mystery that had been hidden in Christ from the foundation of time! The mystery that Christ died on the cross and rose again, and that by faith we may have eternal life! We gentiles today may receive this salvation based solely on God's grace and by faith! That we would be justified and made right before God based on Jesus Christ faithfulness to His Father and to us! That we need not "DO" anything more to receive His love and forgiveness! That we need not work harder to be in God's good grace, but simple receive His great gift of LIFE through Jesus!

God's gift to man was through the cross of Christ! So Paul asked for prayer so that he may be that ambassador who speaks boldly!

I pray that you too would speak boldly about this great mystery in Christ! That you would share your testimony and your experience of life in Christ! That you would share the "Good News' of Christ death, burial and resurrection for our sins and that others may come to Christ by faith!

Please pray for me to do the same and to never ever stop! That this ministry would proclaim, persevere and prosper even more in teaching others how to live in Christ! That we would reach, teach and preach the Gospel of Christ according to the mystery given to Paul by Jesus Christ Himself!!

grace be with you,

The Word of God "IS" God!
2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I want to encourage you to read the Word daily! The Word of God "IS" God!! By the revelation of God the "words" are inspired and given to and through authors! NOW it is vitally important to know that the verse says the "scriptures" are inspired, not the men who wrote it! Sometimes in scripture God spoke to unfaithful, gentile men to say things for His purpose...! The words are inspired even if the author is not!

READ the WORD as if they are GOD because they ARE!!!

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. ...

The WORD is JESUS too! Notice He says in
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Speaking about Jesus!!!So Jesus is the WORD!!!

1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
IT says the Holy Ghost is also the WORD as being ONE with God and Jesus!

So read your bible just as you would be hearing from and talking to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit!!!

Go fellowship with the Body and have a great weekend!

in Christ,

Rest your soul by Faith!
As Robin and I read through the Word this morning, as our normal habit, I thought I would share with you...

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The world revolves around one fear to another! If you watch the news you will see that they even cater to the fears and make their stories around them to sell the program and station! They know that the more fear they can create that it feeds the natural man to want to beware and prevent some disaster, some hurt that may becoming our way!!! The mind races to fix, work and protect at all cost! It is fearful and anxious and not at peace!!!!

Sadly many Christians act the same as the world! Because we have had the same nature before coming to the Lord we have old habits that stick with us for our entire life UNLESS we do something about them! Those old habits are in our minds and lived out in our feelings! The battle is not in our SPIRIT because it is filled with the Spirit of God! So our problem is our Soul were our mind, will and emotions are! Our mind is attacked by the world, flesh and yes even Satan! So we need to RENEW our minds on what is already TRUE IN OUR SPIRIT! We are already saved and secure and have PEACE in our Spirit already! We do not need to do anything externally, but rather internally REST MENTALLY ON THE TRUTH IN OUR SPIRIT! We already have God's love, God's grace, God's forgiveness, God's acceptance.....TELL YOURSELF THE TRUTH UNTIL REST AND PEACE ARE MANIFEST....aka REAL!!!!!

Put your SOUL at REST by FAITH in what Jesus has already done...not on what the next fear may be!

resting in Christ,

What do I 'do" when I don't know what to "do"?
This is something I think we all deal with! What to do when I don't know what to do? I know I can become anxious and think well I need to go "do" something!! I become more aggressive instead of less at times! OR I become less aggressive and procrastinate in doing anything because I don't want to fail or be rejected again!

I think the best thing to "do" when I don't know what to "do" is to "do" nothing, except pray, rest and renew my mind! I need to know and tell myself that if I "do" nothing I am still accepted and loved by God! I need to tell myself that I can fail or even be rejected but that God still loves me and that I don't need the approval of people ! I don't "need" to be successful because I am already a success...and complete, whole and sufficient in Him! I don't need to fear but instead I can "do" or NOT "do"! I can go about my day resting, rejoicing and waiting to discern and make a decision without fear of failure, rejection or punishment from God or anyone else!

"DO" you ever think like this?

let's just enjoy the freedom we have in Christ today!

because He Lives,

Good communication is hard, it takes work and time, like any other thing in life! Men usually struggle with this more than women, as we tend to think about doing and work before relationships and therefore talk less than women! Women are much better at communication then men,... yet often take short cuts by yelling and demanding or confusing everything with to many words, thoughts and feelings and not staying on the subject! Both can grow on this subject!

Good communication stays on subject to resolve something and/or we can share with openness about ourselves by taking self responsibility for what we think, feel and say!

Good communication also means good listening skills! Again women are good listeners men are not! So men listen more and speak less...women need to do the same and speak slowly and clearly on the subject without adding more things! (remember ladies we men can not multi-task like you...! Ha!)

When wanting to talk to someone (family or business) and setting a appointment with each other be sure and tell them what you want to talk about and try to work together for a time!

I don't know how many times people call me and say "hey Howard, call me back"! It comes across as 1.demanding and 2.I have no idea what the subject matter is as well as how much time to set aside! It could be for counseling 1-2 hours or a 5 minute question on nothing of great importance which could be answered by email!! To add they often do not want to talk about one thing... but rather they "just want to talk" to someone!

Work at communicating with others and always look at how you share and could improve yourself! Work at being open, transparent and sharing as well as listening to others!

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Have a great weekend folks,

There are times when I fear the future! When I think about getting old and retirement, will Robin and I be ok especially financially! Will we have to be in a home and taken care of! Will we be able to function normally!

Do you ever think of these types of things? Even for a minute or two we can have thoughts and fears! We can have worries and doubts! Now just because we have them does not mean we have lost our salvation or faith but rather that we are human! With a fleshly nature, that desires to control and know the future! If I know for sure what will happened then I can prepare for it, or be content and comforted in it! I can work harder to fix the wrong before it happens!

I can't control my earthly future though! I may be hit by a drunk driver or get cancer or....! I may not have enough money, and may need to be taken care of by someone! I will never know and can not control life!

Sometimes it helps to put EVERYTHING in perspective of ETERNITY! While I can not control or know what will happened on earth in my future....I can be comforted and live in peace NOW! I can "feel" secure in Christ Now because the ultimate future is taken care of in Him! If I do get cancer, I will be with Him! If I do get hit by a drunk driver I will be with Him! If I do need help and taken care of by someone, I can still thank Him and know that soon I will be with Him!

I can keep a "ETERNAL" perspective on everything and LIVE IN HOPE TODAY!!!

Phl 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

in hope,

Sowing and Reaping equally!
Rom 15:27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

1Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

As I said in yesterdays devotional, that I was desiring to hear back from you! I so desire to hear from you all! I want to know how your doing! How your family is doing and your prayer request if any! It encourages me to continue to help you! Some of you did email back and I am grateful for those emails that encourage me to continue daily! Just as I sow hopefully, good spiritual things, hopefully you reap good spiritual things! Yet I want to encourage you to also sow spiritually as well as carnally into others! Now carnally here does not mean bad, sinful things but rather things that can be touched or earthy! Carnally can mean food, shelter, clothing.... I remember my dad giving cars away when I was young! He was giving cars away that I wanted, ha!.... but I was always impressed and encouraged that he gave to others in need! Now I am not saying to give your car away, but rather using that as a example!

When we reap we should also sow! If you sowed seed into the ground and not reap anything it would be worthless work and it would die! Most of you go to work and sow your effort into your job and then expect to be paid for it! Sowing work and reaping pay, that is how life works and you pay for your food, shelter and help protect your family!
Sowing spiritually into others lives is the same! Sowing spiritually uplifting words of encouragement and truth can help others grow in faith and therefore encourage them to live for Christ! Reaping those words only though, and not sowing back can make us self centered and NOT grow in faith! Sadly many go to church and never give back in anyway, they just keep taking and taking!

Sowing and reaping are BOTH equally important! Learn how to give as well as receive!

as always for you, and may God get the glory,

Phil. 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, 5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: 7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. 8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

Paul tells the church in Philippi that he prays for them and has great joy for their fellowship in the gospel! Paul is encouraged that they are in The Fellowship of LOVE! What I mean by that is that the gospel is about God! It is about God's love for man and how He reconciled with man by showing His love through His son Jesus!

AND so when we are in fellowship we must understand that LOVE! Now this love is not a secular, worldly love but is a righteous, Godly love! It is not perverted nor selfish but it is a giving and receiving of God! It is giving and receiving of God's love to one another! It is always desiring God's will not ours! It respects others boundaries while always within God's boundaries! It is giving as much as receiving!

Just as Paul had the Philippian church in his heart, so let us also have "THE FELLOWSHIP OF LOVE IN OUR HEART"!

in His Love,

Here are some things you can do DAILY that will help you grow in grace and walk by faith!

1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1. Read Daily!
1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading...
Read the word for 3-5 minuets or more a day! Read a chapter or two daily.... do what you can, when you can but read! Make it a priority in your life, because it is life and gives life! The more you read the more knowledge you have, the more knowledge you have, the more you will be able to walk by faith and therefore be transformed, which is what God's will is for every believer!

1 Tim exhortation...
... which means to be refreshed, comforted and peaceful in Christ! It means too "GO TO" Christ and REST in HIM! Spend time with Him and allow Him to minister to your needs, which are always the need to be loved!

1 Tim. doctrine.
Spend time in understanding doctrine, meaning the teachings of Jesus through Paul the Apostle to the gentiles!
Paul's books alone are for us today so know and understand the difference between Israel's laws and works verses our Grace worth, walk and works!

1Ti 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
..., think and ponder on "WHO" CHRIST is, "WHO"CHRIST is in You and "WHO" you have become! This should come first until Christ is formed in you! Until you walk, feel and mature in Christ love! Meditate on the word constantly!!!

5. REJOICE DAILY!! 1 Thes. 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
Rejoice in Christ daily! Now I know we all have bad days, but if you Renew your mind, Rest in Christ then Rejoice in Him you will find a whole different perspective in life!

1 Thes. 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
NEVER EVER STOP PRAYING! Talk with God, be real with God and receive from God!!! Praying is something we are told to do constantly with out ceasing!!!! So Pray, Pray, Pray! Praying is renewing , resting, receiving, meditating.... so PRAY!

1 Thes 5:8 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Be thankful for God's forgiveness, acceptance and LOVE! He always Loves you and has already forgiven you so THANK HIM CONSTANTLY! A Thankful heart is a content heart! A Thankful heart is a peaceful heart, not a anxious, fearful or demanding heart!

So Read, Exhort, in Christ teachings from Paul! And then Rejoice as you Pray and are Thankful in all things, everyday!

Do these daily and over time you will mature and be at peace as well as have joy in your heart!

in Christ love,

The communion of Christ TODAY is not bread or wine, but in CHRIST ALONE!
While I know that this may offend some and it is also a very, very short explanation as well as a longer Blog than normal I thought I would share anyway!

Now we often see Jesus using the word cup, baptism or bread in many different ways! In fact let me point out that even in the old covenant books it is used in a way that is not representing food or wine!

Jesus used the word cup or baptism to represent his death and even challenged the disciples, as well as told them you will go through this death for my sake!
Mark 10:38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?:
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

Now it is important to remember at this point that Jesus had NOT died nor was the cross of any benefit to Israel! It was a shame that they had killed their Messiah! BUT the cross became the blessing and grace given tool of God to the gentiles who would accept the risen Christ!

Jesus even asked God too take away the "cup" of death and the cross...Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

So you see that the cup, bread and baptism are used in many different ways! For Israel the natural elements bring a spiritual meaning BUT After the cross AND too the BODY of CHRIST and to the gentiles the natural elements are of NO value! It is always the Spiritual elements that bring LIFE and LIBERTY!
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. ...
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. (please go back and read complete chapter and verses.)

In 1Co 11:18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.....
YOU see there were divisions in Corinth and in the first chapter of 1 Cor. it talks about divisions and who baptized who and Paul said.... 1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
SO PAUL is describing in 1 Cor. 11, not the communion of bread or wine, natural elements but rather the partaking of being UNITED IN CHRIST BODY!
1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

AND SO when we are NOT in UNITY we are NOT worthy of the BODY OF CHRIST! We are to be in UNITY IN CHRIST IN LOVE!

Don't get caught up in the bread and wine which are only a shadow of the real shedding of blood and Christ cross and bring about NO repentance against the flesh... BUT see the real issue of the heart, mind and Spirit of the COMMUNION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST!

to GOD be the GLORY,

Stop punishing yourself and others! The blame game is no fun to play!
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Rom 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Often times we grow up with parents that are harsh even if they know the Lord! Some did not know the Lord and were perhaps even harsher! OR sometimes we go through life and some one time event changes our whole lives forever in some way! Perhaps a molestation, a betrayal or loss of someone! It could be a thousand different things for each one of us, BUT still it is emotional trauma for years!

WE often want a person to be punished and we want justice! We want them to suffer just as we have suffered! We want God to punish them or if not God than man and if man won't , than I will in some way, but they need to be punished in order for me to go on with life! The thinking is like this, " if you do something wrong you need to be punished"! "Every one needs to be punished for wrong including my self"! "Someone needs to take the blame and pay for this"! GET THE POINT!

We often blame others for our sin, and we often want to punish the one who sinned! The one who has sinned needs to be dealt with including myself!!

The problem with all that is that, we put ourselves in the place of God, who is the judge!! AND suffer for it in many ways...bitter, angry, vengeful, and the victim mentally!

We need to realize that Jesus became the propitiation, the sacrifice that has appeased God's wrath and brought the atonement between God and man! We are reconciled to God through Jesus and no one need ever be punished again for sin! The cross of Christ has fulfilled all the requirements for ALL mans sin forever and God's needs no more blood for the punishment or atoning of sin!

You see God is the judge and the only one who needs "too" and "CAN" punish man! He holds the position of authority not you or me! ONLY GOD can bring peace between man and Himself and He has done it though Jesus! God is no longer angry with us because of Christ! So if God, the judge , the only one that has been truly offended by ALL MAN , can forgive we too must forgive and not punish others for their sin as well as not beat ourselves up!

This is not just a fact, but it also helps us emotionally deal with problems and people! By not putting ourselves in the position of God and punishing others we can be free from the bondage of hate and bitterness! IT actually hurts us more to hold onto offences and think that we must blame and punish who ever sins!

We are able to forgive, because we have been forgiven and the power of the living God is within us! So forgive and live in the freedom of the Spirit!

as always for you, in Christ,

We are saved by faith and faith alone and I am NOT suggesting anything different! YET what most legalist say is the fact that we don't follow "THE LAW"!! Notice I said "THE LAW" and not just "law"!!! They often want us to follow "THE LEVITACAL LAW" Along with ALL other laws!!!

Now with that being said we are not saved by "any" law but by faith yet works or fruit as some would say show "WHO" we are devoted too!!! Ourselves or God!

Lets look at some scripture under the Old Cov. given to Israel!
Deut. 30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: ...
John 14:15, If ye love me, keep my commandments.
... 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

The verses show and ties together devotion and love with obedience!
You see while they had NO cross, No Spirit, No blood.... they were still to follow and be devoted by obedience to the law! IT showed their heart and "WHO" was their God!

We too as gentiles, under grace, with the Spirit in us and after the cross of Christ show our "FAITH" and "HEART" and "LOVE" and "DEVOTION" TO WHOM WE BELONG TOO BY our "GOOD WORKS"!

Lets look at
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

You see Paul is saying that these people showed that they denied God by their works! You see they served themselves and were disobedient!

Now the question that often follows is then "what" are "good" works!!! "GOOD" works are always and anything that brings Glory to God by a "...a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (1 Tim. 1:5)!!!!! And just so you know....
ONLY BELIEVERS CAN DO GOOD WORKS!!! We can NOT do ANY "Good Works" if we are not saved!!!
You see it is not just preaching or teaching or feeding the poor, helping orphans and giving money... or etc., etc........ BUT it is living by a sincere, genuine faithful heart and mind in all things! That "GIVES" the whole heart and devotion to God by faith! "Good works" are always righteous and Godly and according to His Word!

Just because you go to church or even say "God bless you" or "I will Pray for you" does not mean you are doing a "good work"!

GOOD WORKS are always to bring GLORY TO GOD, without receiving anything in return! Not even a pat on the back, or appreciation or even to get love in return!

I think Mark 7:6 said it best "...This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me".

Lets honor God by a loving, genuine, sincere faithful heart and mind in bringing Glory to God by our
"Good Works"!

for you in Christ love,

Rejection Roots Reveal Rage!
Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

What is bitterness? Bitterness means a hurt or offense and then a anger or holding of guilt in malice or revenge! A good way of seeing this is by a plant because it has roots... the roots which we can not see underground are the hurts offences and rejections that we feel! But by holding on to them they begin to grow up through the ground and then we see the stem, flower and fruit of those roots! That fruit is anger, hate and vengeful! Those fruits are poison and defile others! They poison, the people who did the offence but it also we defile the people around and even those from far away! The church, family, friends, neighbors ALL may be defiled by your attitude of bitterness! A controlling, independent and judgmental attitude comes from this bitterness and defiles others! Often people get to the point that they do not even want to be around or associate with people that behave that way! The one who acts in this manner then wants even more attention and acceptance BUT NOW goes about it in all the wrong ways! Being controlling and bossy....or Like Esau that want acceptance and cry, whine and plead BUT they do not want to REPENT!!!! They want to be the same way but don't want to submit to God or anyone else AND they want others to change instead of them!

Now just a bit of info on the side here.... Esau became know as the Edomite's which were enemies of Israel! Herod the Great was from the descendants of Esau, and Herod tried to kill JESUS!!!

You see how bitterness and unforgiveness can effect you and others for the rest of their lives....! AND just talking or crying about your hurt does not change anything if anything it waters the roots which fester into even greater weeds of anger and judgement!!!

REPENT, RENEW AND FORGIVE OTHERS!!!! Don't grow into a weed of hate!

Love One Another!
Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

1Th 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. ... 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1Th 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. ... 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Rom 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. ... 14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

Here are just a few "one another" verses! The Body of Christ needs to Love, exhort, comfort and receive ONE ANOTHER! We are to teach, edify and minister to one another! We need to forgive, accept and serve one another! There is nothing that the Body, through Christ and His word that we can not do and therefore are called to admonish one another!

We are not to be lone rangers, but rather united in spirit, heart and mind, as well as Body!

If you do not fellowship with other Christians then something is wrong! Pray and be willing to be "willing" to go and be with others not just for others but for yourself too!

We can give spiritually, materially and physical! We can give clothes, food and financially! We can listen, pray and stand along side when another is hurting! We prove by being in unity and fellowship the greatest of the one another verses and that is to LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

in love for you,

The Secrets of your heart!
1 Cor 14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

What secrets are you holding in your heart? Often people come for counseling to fix their marriage or get help with some issue, but I am looking at their hearts! You see the problem is always with our hearts! To whom we live for! To whom we serve, ourselves or God! Once our heart is revealed and the sin is shown and out in the light, we then and only then can we deal with it! The sin is lust, pride and self centeredness in some form! It may look like fear and self protection but it is still self centered not Christ centered!

My job as a minister of God and in counseling someone is to help that person see their sin, and then to walk by faith in Christ! To help them become dependent on Christ! To lead them to the Word, Spirit and Love of God through Christ, until Christ if formed in them! To show them the
SECRETS OF THEIR HEART so that they will fall down and WORSHIP GOD!!!

What are the secrets of your heart dear saint!

God's love brings balance and security!!!

1Jo 4:8 ...for God is love. ... 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

In everything we do there must be a sense of balance! As I get older I notice my sense of balance physically is not the same. My hearing is worse ,my eye sight is worse and I tend to either under or over compensate for things!

The same goes for our spiritual and mental lives as well! Anything can get out of balance! We tend to grow in a area and then make it a law for our selves and everyone else! Anything can become a law if out of balance!

For instance the law of love that God has given us! While we are to love others, we can not demand or "love" unrighteous behavior! We are not to join others in loving the worlds way but rather we are to show the world "what" love looks like or "who love is"..., for GOD IS LOVE! Don't ever forget that Dear Saints!!

Sometimes in order to get over some particular sin or behavior we have to make a principle such as "I won't eat ice cream because I am trying to lose weight".... but eating ice cream is not a sin, unless we over indulge in it! So the principle can "look" or "feel" like a law in order to get results but "A" principle must always be driven by the understanding that this is not good for me AND that God loves me! The Law of God's Love for us is what brings security and must always be understood in order to be free in whatever is bringing bondage into our lives!

Thank You Mom!
Mothers day is Sunday and it is a time to reflect as well as celebrate our moms! We all have one and we should say thank you to them.

Now some moms may have given their child up for adoption or perhaps not been the best mom, but we can still give thanks to them for giving us life!

Being a mom has great rewards for instance in
1Ti 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Just giving birth has a reward in itself!!! Now this verse encourages moms to be faithful, loving and holy!

Moms also can be such a great influence in our spiritual lives! Teaching and even sharing scripture with their child is one of the greatest privileges a mom can have!
2Ti 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
2 Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Now my mom passed away many years ago but I am always grateful she took me to church each week and she did the best job she could with what she knew to do!

If you don't have your mom in your life or you struggle with offences with your mom, I want to encourage you to forgive as you have been forgiven! Thank God for your mom regardless if she was perfect or not!

By the way some women have not had the privilege of bearing children, that does not make you any less important or less of a women. Your importance and feminine ways are still good and needed in the Body of Christ regardless!

Keep Growing!
It is that time of year when Seniors graduate from High school or college! Most feel like they finally are done with school and all the hard work, but really it has only begun! Now the hard knocks of life come! Now is the time to grow even more!

Sometimes believers think this also! "I am saved" and that is all there is to it! Now that is all there is as far as being saved, righteous and forgiven, yet Paul encourages us to keep growing! He says in 2 Cor 8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

Paul encourages all to abound in everything spiritually speaking! We need to grow in our personal faith! By faith we saved and by faith we continue to live and choose to walk by the spirit! By faith we walk and the result of us growing in faith is that we share Christ! We minister to others and help them grow in knowledge and we show them what true love is! AND all that comes through understanding of God's Grace!

When we try to live by law or works we begin to become isolated and inward in some way,... even if we are trying to do things for others! Giving then is not fruit of the spirit by a byproduct of self righteousness!

So keep growing in everything by spending time with God, receiving from Christ and reading His Word!

Keep growing in grace, love and faith and graduate day by day in the University of Christ!!!

Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We all feel down or depressed in some ways sometimes. We tend to beat our selves up for sin or standards that we set and fail at! Those standards are what we have set as a law! Now there is the Levitical laws and they teach us some things about "LAW" in general!

I often hear Christians debating about living or wanting to follow the Levitical law, yet they don't understand that by following "the law" they are putting themselves "under" the law! AND if under you must obey or you would have been under "the curse/blessing" process and program that it brought! So if you were to not follow and do the law than you were cursed!

NOW who in their right mind would want to be cursed!! NO ONE wants to be cursed, RIGHT!! YET that is what would happened if you lived under law!!! You must keep the Law!!!

Now a interesting thing is 1. Gentiles never had the law to begin with...and 2. the Jews were not able to keep it and they had it for a long time!!!

A 3rd thing happens when we try to follow "the" law is that we often "PUT" our selves under "other laws", OUR OWN LAWS, AND Our own standards! And if we fail and do not keep those standards/laws we often "feel" like a failure! We may feel insecure, inadequate or inferior! We may feel guilt and fear! Sometimes we may feel so shameful we can not even function in life!! ANY LAW OR STANDARD can become a so called curse if we try to live by them! How can we tell if we are? by the way we react to them!! The way we react to life in general shows us what we truly believe! It does not matter if you just know the truth, we must choose to walk in that truth! Knowing God's love does not mean your claiming or walking in that love!

We are to walk by faith! In what God has said is true! We are to trust in what Jesus did on the cross! He became the curse for us, so that we may blessed with the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus! That we may receive the promise of life and become God's child!

When you feel unloved, rejected or down and depressed there is some law or standard your trying to live up too and can't! Turn to God, by faith and receive Christ love, life and liberty given to you and STOP living under some imaginary curse!!

for you in Christ love,

Resurrection Day, not a one time event but a daily lifestyle!
While Christians around the world will celebrate what is commonly called Easter, I want to encourage you to think a little past and hopefully above that! What I mean is that while you should celebrate RESUURRECTION day DAILY, BY keeping your heart and mind on the things above DAILY!

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

This celebration should not be a one time event yearly but rather it should be a DAILY celebration for the believer! It should be exciting and "new" DAILY! WE should be fixed on this from the time we wake up until our heads hit the pillow at night!

One thing we can find comfort in, is found in
...1Thes 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

BE comforted in what Christ did at the cross, and that He rose to give you life, and that our life is in Him, and last but not least you will meet and be with Him again!!!!

Enjoy your weekend, and be comforted by renewing your mind DAILY and SEEK DAILY, the things above in CHRIST!!

as always for you in grace, by faith,
