To Glorify God and edify the Body of Christ!
The Offended and Rejection Cycle!
We all have been offended and felt the sting of rejection! Even Christ felt it, yet He is the ONLY one to not sin after feeling rejected and He felt it by ALL man kind!!!

ALL sin offends and rejects!!! Remember when you sin it rejects God and someone else! If a husband cheats on his wife, of course the wife feels rejected! If a wife argues and disrespects her husband, the husband feels disrespected and the children feel rejected too! Their mom has just disrespected the head of the house and their dad! When a child does not obey he rejects the parents authority! So in all cases sin offends/rejects God and man!!

Now lets define rejection! Rejection is any form of unloving, unrighteous and ungodly behavior toward another! It comes from sin and shows the death process mentally and emotionally! So not showing love is unloving toward others. Disrespect, dishonor, manipulation, cheating, hate, hurt vengeance, arguing against authority.........I could go and on!
A good way of understanding rejection in your life is too first admit it. Say to yourself and God, "I feel rejected, unloved, disrespected, dishonored and/or I am offended........."! The use of the "I" word is important as it is saying you are being responsible for your feelings and thoughts, and NOT BLAMING others for your feelings!!!

2nd the bible says in Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
You see the problem is that we love ourselves, so we tend to justify our feelings and then blame or hold the other person responsible for our feelings! It sounds and looks like this..."I am hurt and I do not deserve this, and I deserve to be loved because I am...."! Our pride kicks in and we defend our flesh!!

3rd we tend to then reject others! We say and do things that offend and hurt others because we think we are God and can and should punish them!!!

This can go on and on and on and as quickly as we feel offended we reject others!!!! It becomes a cycle of bitterness and rejection!

If you want to get out of this rejection cycle, simply admit your hurt, identify the person and what they did and then by going to God, Renew your mind in who you are in Christ, and extend forgiveness just as God has forgiven you!

After all, is your sin of unforgiveness or your sinful reaction to the rejection and the other person any different or better then their sin!!! Your sin is just as great as theirs and God has forgiven you!

because God forgave,

Sin brings shame, guilt and fear!
As I said in last weeks blog that I will do some basic teachings on what I call the 5 R's! These 5 R's are what every Christian needs to do daily to have victory in their daily life! Now I will show you the first R in a few weeks, but first lets look at Genesis 3 and see how we got into this mess to begin with!

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Now we talked about this last week how Satan deceives us into thinking we can be a"god" or even "Like God", and live independentantly or find significance without God! I told you how we can set standards, demand obedience and judge others! We can take vengeance, try and control life and live independent of God and others! I also said that we want the appreciation, acceptance and attention of others as well as not ask for help from God or man!!!

Today though I want us to back to Gen 3 and see some other things that we may think and feel!!!

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Now in 1 Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
This verse describes Gen. 3:6 perfectly in fact John is using those same words to describe how we act when we are trying to be a god! Lust of the eyes, Lust of the flesh and Pride of life! Lust and Pride come from the same Hebrew root word, meaning to covet! To take for selfish reasons and to delight in for self! You see we all lust, we all sin and part of sin is lusting! We may lust for power, money and even love!!! We lust for attention and acceptance! We lust for food and gratification in different ways!
Now we also think we deserve love and demand love! We think we are great, smart and above others! We think we know everything and act as if people are to worship us and bow down to our every little whim!!! This is pride!!!
Both lust and pride are self centeredness! Both are sin!

Now when we sin we also have emotions that tell us that we have sinned and help us to know what we are thinking! Emotions are not bad they help us to see what has priority in our thinking at the time!!! Feelings are not be nursed or coddled but they are to be used and understood! They are not to control us, but to help us! So we see in these next verses...

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

The first feeling we all have when we sin is SHAME! They were exposed for what they had done! We all feel shame and this why we protect ourselves from others rather than being transparent!
2. Guilt! Feeling guilty and being guilty of sin as Adam was...helps us to know we need help a Savior to begin with!
3. Fear! We all fear! Fear is used from Gen. to Revelations! We fear problems, people and punishment! We fear death and rejection! We fear failure and future! WE ALL FEAR!!!!

These 3 are the emotions that goes with every sin in some way! Don't deny them or excuse them! Just allow them to tell you what your really thinking and turn to God!

Lastly the next verse deals with not a emotion but a action!!! BLAME!
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

We all play the blame game at some point! "the dog ate my homework or my brother hit me first"..."My wife this or my husband that".....Adam also did something very important that people never see! He blamed GOD! Not just Eve, but GOD! We can do that too! We not only blame others but God! AND its not just that we blame God, but we think we have the right to blame God,
after all when I sin, I THINK I AM GOD!!!!!! Don't you?

in grace and for God,

My problem and yours!
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

For my Saturday blog I thought I would go back through some teachings and basics things that I teach everyone! These are basic things that every Christian needs to know in order to have victory daily in Christ! Just because they are basic does not mean that you learn them and then move on, No these are principles every Christian must do daily for the rest of our lives!! They are basic but not elementary in importance! So here we go and I encourage you to get out your bibles and read and study these daily even after reading this blog today!

Now the women did something that is common with women and this is why the serpent, (aka Satan) talked with her instead of Adam! Women are prone to want relationships! Women are much more relational than men! Women are relationship oriented and men tend to be performance oriented!

So Satan strikes up a conversation and the first thing we need to know is that Satan deceives us! Satan lies, manipulates and deceives us into thinking we can have significance with out God! That we can even be a god and live independent of God! Also I might add that Eve did something that God did not tell them not to do! She said we may "not touch" the fruit! God just said don't eat of it, (ref. Gen.2:16) she shrunk God's boundaries/standards down to her standards!!!! We do this so much in life. We take God's standards and make them tighter, stricter then His and "we could not" do His standard, how are we going to do our standards!!!!

Now if God is God, and we are not.... than He has certain prerogatives that we don't have!

1. He can set standards for mankind, and He has!
2. He can demand obedience!
3. He can judge mankind by those standards!
4. He can take vengeance!
5. He can take and is in control!
6. He can act independent, and do whatever HE pleases!
7. Only He deserves praise, worship and glory!
8. He needs no help from man!

Now if we try to be like God than we sin when we try to do these things....

1. Set standards for others and ourselves!
2. Demand obedience from others and for ourselves
3. Judge others by those standards and with hold love...!
4. We take vengeance!
5. We try to control life!
6. We act and behave independent of God and others!
7. We want and seek the love, acceptance, affection, adoration, affirmation and approval of others!
8. We seek NO help from others!

You see we are trying to be God and act as if we are God even if we don't know it or do it on purpose!! This is called sin! Sin is being separated from God, independent of God, and trying to find significance without God! This why sin is called "missing the mark", we miss the "perfect" mark of God, and His righteousness! His perfect righteous standard and only Christ is perfect and this is why only Jesus can save us and make us "PERFECT"!

Look at these 8 ways that you may be deceived and are trying to act and be God! I often hear people say "I don't want to be God" or " I don't do those things...." in which I say to them, "than you don't sin at all, your perfect..." and of course they say " no I do sin, but..." in then I say "than you have done at least one of these in some form"!!!

Be honest, be tuff on your self, and see yourself for how you really are, not just how you want to be! NO one's carnal, sinful, flesh ever gets better, so just admit it!!!

ALL sin is on the cross, so you are already forgiven! ALL of sin everyday....ALL OF US! Just be HONEST WITH YOURSELF!

because of Christ,

Living a lifestyle of independence!
Deu 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

Dan 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Psa 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Psa 135:5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Living a lifestyle of independence, is so common today! Yet I guess it always has been!! From the time of Adam and Eve when they sinned against God and thought that they could be a god with out Him, man has struggled with independence! Trying to find significance on our own, and saying to ourselves..." I accomplished this" or "look at who and what I am"! It is so easy to make decisions or act and do something with out considering others! WE believe we have the "right" to do so! After all I am "GOD" we think!!! "I don't need help"!!! "I know what is right or best for ME"!!! The problem with man is we want to be our own god!

There are so many ways of being independent from God and each other! God allows us to relate to each other so that we can see how we also relate with Him!! WOW! In other words how you share and interact with others is how you may interact with God! If you can't share and be transparent with the Body, meaning spouse, children, friends and/or church, you are probably not open and completely honest with God!

Now of course there are growing pains that come with that over time! For instance if you are new believer and beginning to trust in God as your Lord and Savior than you may be beginning to be honest and transparent with God for the first time and that will take time to develop, BUT still not be open to the body! Sometimes new believers ask the Body for help in knowing God and His Word! And that is a good thing, but I am not just talking about doctrine or only the attributes of God, but rather about, our needs, hurts and desires! Our marriages, feelings and our deepest worries and concerns! We need to consider how our decisions good or bad have affected others, and talk with them about those decisions! We may need to extend and seek forgiveness for them!
BUT at some point we must all grow and learn to share our feelings with the Body or else we become even more prideful and INDEPENDENT!

There are so many ways to act independent of our spouse, children and church, without even considering their thoughts , opinions or spiritual understanding. I have seen way to many marriages break up! I have seen way to many families torn apart from each other because of independent hearts and attitudes!

Don't Live a lifestyle of Independence! Be independent of the world and sin, and be interdependent with the Body of Christ and while you learn to be TOTALLY, COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON GOD!

God's authority and mans responsibilty!
Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

OK I will jump on the political bandwagon this one time!!! HA! But With all the mid term election stuff going on I thought it might be a good time to remember some things!

First God has allowed and set up authority in life! He has blessed authority, because GOD IS THE AUTHORITY!!! Let us never ever forget that!

There are authorities in all realms of life, from Family and church to government!

Now if you remember that in Jesus earthy ministry He was under human authority and it was not necessarily perfect! In fact compared to that time our nation, authority and problems are nothing compared to then!

SO how did Jesus handle that authority? First He knew "WHO" was "THE" authority, GOD! And 2nd He knew "WHO HE WAS"!!! He KNEW He was God's son and He KNEW and trusted completely in His Father!!! So He was not intimidated by them! He did submit outwardly and allowed them to treat Him and beat Him as if He was of no importance!
We see in the book of Philippians chapter 2 it say that Jesus..."But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:"!...
That means that He behaved in a subservient way to earthly authority while serving and dying for others! It means that Jesus while being as God, became a man and gave His life for man!

We are asked to do the same, even though we may be beaten, spit on or killed! We too can serve, stand and be strong for God in the midst of any worldly authority!

The answer and understanding for this comes from...
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.....

Love is not weak or silent but it is righteous and therefore respectful!

In other words, we should receive from God His love and know "WHO WE ARE AS CHRIST DID"! And then because of that security and confidence in "OUR" Father, and in knowing we are safe, saved and secure in Him, we then stand, speak and vote for "HIS" views... in love!

BUT always in LOSS, LOVE!

to encourage you always,
in God's grace,

Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Suffering never sounds good! It always seems to hurt or be some negative thing, doesn't it! No one wants to suffer needlessly, and to suffer on purpose for something we want seems probable but we still don't like it! Like when a women goes through birth pains and she suffers, she does not like it but oh the joy of having that baby!!!
OR when we hurt doing a workout ...the old saying comes to mind "No pain ,No gain..." and we keep pushing and suffering to gain!! But that kind of suffering is not what we all have nor do we all want! BUT....

We all suffer, even Jesus suffered! Jesus suffered and learned to be obedient by suffering, the writer of Hebrews says! Now Jesus was perfect so He did not sin, but as He was growing He would have those who would treat Him or even His Father, God, wrongly and He would hurt! YET He always went to His Father even in that pain! Just as He did on the cross when being crucified cried out to His Father, ABBA,ABBA, Daddy, Daddy!

You see suffering is not just intended to hurt or destroy us but to teach us to go to our Father, our God, Our Savior! It teaches us, and tells us where we are mentally and emotionally and whether we are thinking about worldly, earthly, human or anything else besides God! EVERYTHING in LIFE is designed to bring us closer to the CROSS and To Christ!

Now we can suffer because of many things, like someone else's sin or health or disease! AND even because of our own sin! We may continue in sin, over and over and not learn and keep suffering and failing, like Esau did! In Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

You see he kept blaming and being bitter and did not repent unto God! If repentance means to "have a changed mind", Esau kept the SAME mind he had and never came to the Lord! He never was obedient and therefore never matured or had peace!!!

What we do when we suffer is so important! How we handle our sin or rejection, failure and loss is so important! We can do it Esau's way or God's way! We can cry out to our Father and remember what He has done through His Son, Jesus or we can stay the same way and die emotionally!!! We have a choice, in each and every time we suffer!
Choose wisely, Choose God's love over all that suffering and you too will have peace and mature into a obedient, CHILD OF GOD! Renew your mind and rest in His love regardless of the suffering you are going through and be comforted in your Father's arms!

as always in grace,and
may the Lord's love be in you,

Reciprocate, by giving and recieveing!
Rom 15:27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

1Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

I hope this blog finds you doing well today!

I wanted to share these thoughts with you, that I think Paul found extremely important to the Body! That is, the idea and understanding of reciprocating! That is to give back in some way, because you have been given too! Christ died for our sins, yet He did not die, just "to die", But that we might give our lives to Him! He rose to conquer death, and give His life so that may receive salvation, but we must give ourselves to Him! Paul writes to the Roman and Corinthian church that since the Jerusalem saints gave them the gospel and spiritual matters that the gentiles should give them carnal or natural things. Things like food, cloths and money!

You see there is a reciprocal type of thinking in ministry!
If someone gives you, something you normally and should reciprocate with "at least" a "thank you"! AND if you can give more at some point, then do..... this is how our thinking and heart should be!

While ministry is about giving, many in the church think that all they have to do is receive, but they also need to give! Now giving can come in many forms! As I said, clothing and financial support, but one more is important first!

1.prayer - prayer is important! It is bringing the spirit into the natural, earthy and fleshly realm! We all need to pray for one another!

2. food/clothing - this can take on many different forms for different people at different times. Sometimes just water is needed, and sometimes food is needed for others, or both! Sometimes a job, cars or cleaning a yard or house is needed, but the essentials is what is most important!

3. Money - Sometimes financial support is needed and given. Now the church is to give financially to different areas in life. For instance to the poor, orphaned, widows and to advance the ministry and gospel of Christ!

4. Thank you - and last but not least, sometimes just a simple acknowledgement and thank you is needed! The appreciation of receiving a word, message or encouragement!

I ask that you think about these things in your life and who you can give too! IF it be the hungry person, or giving clothes to one who does not have! To the widow, orphaned or poor! To the one who needs help staying off drugs or rehabilitation or just a driver to the store or doctor! Perhaps one who ministers to you and how you can give back to them!

I ask that you remember this ministry as we advance the gospel, by teaching and counseling others in how to live by faith in Jesus Christ! By praying and giving financially it helps us to help those who need counsel in the Word! Who need stability and security! Who need their marriage reconciled and honoring God! I also ask that you reply back often with prayer request, and/or appreciation for our work! Let us know how your doing and if and how we helped, that encourages us, to keep going!

in grace,

Pray for ALL men and understand authority!
1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

PAUL ASK us to pray for all men! The Body of Christ needs to be a praying church and community! WHY? Because without bringing in the Spiritual realm we will end up doing things from a earthly, fleshly, carnal way! When we begin to pray for others, or give thanks for our food, or for anything we are saying that we honor the authority of God, the authority over man! The creator and the one who deserves our glory!

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

I RECEINTLY watched a show on Queen Elisabeth of England and I noticed that everyone bowed down to her as they do today to the Queen and royals! Now we are to bow to no one but God and give God the respect and sovereignty that is only His! BUT we are to respect those who are in authority and our government even if you do not agree with them! IT is the position we respect and who deserves this, NOT the person... because God has made and blessed this position! So let us pray for those who govern and have respect for them. All of them need our prayers NOT just our opinions and judgements! Otherwise we look like and act like unbelievers who just complain and demand their lustful and carnal way!

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

I LOVE THESES VERSES!!! Who would have ALL MEN to be saved!!! God loves His creation just as you and I love our kids! He wanted to be with them and spend time with them, so after man rebelled, He sent Christ to the cross so that He might reconcile Himself to them! He was the initiator, even though He was also the offended one! What a great example God is! To show us even when we are the offened we too can extend forgiveness!! Just wonderful and beautiful love shown! SO now all men every where are given the opportunity to come and be reconciled by faith! They have the free will to receive and to call JESUS, LORD!

7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

PAUL says I am a preacher, a teacher and Apostile to the gentiles! He encourages us to pray in faith to God for others! To be free to lift up our hands if desire and to express our dependency and praise to God! To be free and transparent in our emotions and thoughts unto God! Allow yourself to express yourself, without seeking attention unto yourself, but only unto God! Only God deserves the praise and our attention not us!

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

NOW Paul encourages women to not seek attention, which again takes away from God who deserves the praise of man! Often women go to church to find a husband or even try to get men to stare, by dressing very provocatively, so they can feel good about themselves! Here we see again in a different way, to honor God as the authority!

There are also a lot of churches allowing women to be the lead pastor or even allowing women to teach and have authority over men. What this is saying is that God and God's Word is NOT the final authority but man! There is a reason why God wanted this in scripture. He designed men and women different and for different roles! Each ones make up in God's perfect design should be respected and honored by their roles, if they are not we begin to pervert God's creation and change His design! It was not God's intention to have one better or smarter, but rather for the protection, provision of their specific role for each to benefit and create one creature out of two! They are to praise and glorify God not each other! Out of this perfect design they will love, nurture and multiply!

Pray for ALL men, and respect ALL authority!

in grace,

Free will and choices!
2 Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The church has been divided for ever on whether or not there is free will, even though it has been shown over and over through scripture!

Here we see it again, we all have free will, we all make choices! Either responsible or irresponsible choices in life! And either way we are responsible for those choices! We must either gain or lose, succeed or fail, death or life it's up to each one of us! As individuals we must bear that burden of decision! We must either pay the price and sink or climb the mountain in victory!

God showed His love for us through Jesus Christ! He sent Him to the cross and He died for our sins and rose again, so that we may receive life and salvation through Him! So we have the choice to choose the truth that Jesus rose and that only through Him may we have eternal life! Now God offers this to ALL! if HE DID NOT then people would not have the opportunity to "...receive not...", to decline, as it says in verse 10! In order to decline, one must first be offered the gift and so salvation, truth and grace has been extended to all!

In life we all have choices to make, but it is our pride and fears that keep us from receiving! Receiving from God as well as others! So many people who are insecure and just coping with life are also the most prideful too! They won't ask for help, because they are scared of the advice or that it goes against what they really want which may be bad for them! OR they think they are smarter and know more then the person giving advice! Many times the person who is giving advice and counsel has even been through the exact same circumstances and perhaps chose wrongly and paid the price and so wants to help the person not go through that same experience! Others may not have went through the same experience but know what scripture says and can discern right from wrong, good and evil!

As a pastor-teacher and counselor, I have great empathy and sympathy for people, but if a person is bound and determined to do it there way I have no choice but to let that person go through life until life crushes them! I did not say that I wanted them to go through it, I am just saying that the only way this person is ever going to be humbled is to be crushed to the point of repentance and or death! Unfortunately many will go to the brink of death, or great loss, IF THEY COME AT ALL!!! and sadly that is what happens to many!

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Before time began God wanted ALL men to worship and be saved through Jesus! He always loved His creation and wanted the best for us! He sent Jesus to die and too give us salvation. We simply need to believe and receive Him! Be comforted in God's GREAT LOVE! You have a free will so,
make wise choices, CHOOSE LIFE, CHOOSE CHRIST!

FILTHY LANGUAGE! What you say can tell more about you than you think!
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

When I was young my Dad would cuss and use foul language and I remember at even a young age thinking, "I don't like that" and "that sounds really bad" or "the pastor and Sunday school teacher said that was bad dad"!!
I never got in the habit of cussing or telling bad sexual jokes and I am glad I didn't! Now some people do get in a habit a early age, and it seems normal and is just as hard to break as any other habit!
James 3:5 says....Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Just like drinking alcohol or smoking or any other bad habit it takes consistent awareness and prayer! Repenting (changing of mind...) and renewing of the mind and heart! To realize that something is sinful and that God loves you! He loves you, so you don't need to get attention by over emphasizing with cuss words, or being controlling and demanding or judgeing by cussing and usually yelling follows!

Another thing I see so much of in the world today is how so many professing people, who say they know God, but by their MOUTHS they deny Him!!! How you might say? By the same way they profess Him,... THEIR WORDS!!!! I see this a lot on social media! Facebook especially, when in one post one says "God is great" and "God First" and "I love God", and then in the next post four letter words that make a sailor blush!!!!

Your WORDS can tell more about you than you may think! They say how insecure you are and how you value others! How you put emphasis on certain words to show your feelings about it!
Your WORDS can tell the world that we are NO different than they are! No wonder many call the church and us hypocrites! While you may praise God with your lips, your cuss words show that you don't! STOP acting as if your words mean nothing because they do! Your heart and mind do not serve God but yourself!

WORDS can offend!
I once had a guy who used cuss words and hand gestures to get attention and than say to me "they are just words and fingers...I was the one who thought they were bad not him or others" But that is not true!!!! Some words and gestures are universal for their meaning and always offend! They are offensive to others no matter how you may think of them! As Christians we are called to edify the body with our words and actions!
1Co 14:26 ....... Let all things be done unto edifying.
Don't let cuss words keep you in bondage and not edify the body! Nothing can ruin your testimony faster than cuss words!

WHO do you serve, God or man!? God or yourself?
Take note of your language, and repent, renew and receive from God, receive and know His love which will bring security and take away that insecure tongue and heart!

in God's grace,

Faith in "What" or "Who"?
I hope you all had a great week!

Today I want share with you a point of view that most people in the world have, but get nothing out of, FAITH!
If you do not have faith, it may seem hopeless! So many of us do not believe in anything and therefore have no hope! Many are depressed and even take their own lives because they have no hope!

So faith is important! Almost everyone will say you need to believe in something! Either some religious thing or if nothing else yourself! We may say to ourselves "I am going to be more confident, bold and believe in myself more"!

Now the interesting thing about "that" is that while faith in something is important, "WHAT" you believe in is even more impotant!! For instance you may show great faith in a chair that you like and want to sit in it! It is looks manly or pretty and cool looking! It has a certain charm to it and you just like it, and so you put a great deal of faith in this chair to hold you up when you sit in it! So you go and sit, BUT it falls apart! You hit the ground and hurt yourself! Your chair is worthless! Your chair did not do what it was designd to do!

The same goes for religions and such things! Some put great faith in Buddha, but Buddha is dead! Muhammad is dead and even David of the bible all dead! They can not help or do anything! Even if their philosophy sounded good they are dead! A dead person can not save another dead person! They can not "hold" you up nor promise and do what they say they could!

Now you could believe in your self, yet you will die also! We have no power on our own, we sin, and "WE" need help not the other way around! We can not save ourselves! We can not forgive ourselves we are not the judge, but God is the judge!

God sent Jesus to die for our sins and take the punishment for all sins! Jesus then rose again, conquered death and HE IS ALIVE!!!! Only Jesus is ALIVE! Only Jesus can save us! ONLY JESUS!

You see it is not JUST that you have faith, but rather WHAT you PUT FAITH IN! Walk by FAITH IN JESUS!

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! "WHO" shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

in grace,

When God is small and people are BIG!
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

We are all born in fear! In Genesis Adam sinned and he was fearful because he was guilty and so sin and fear are apart of man! To live in fear is to live in sin, and therefore there is bondage! Fear can restrain us from venturing into all kinds of possibilities and all kinds of adventures in life! It can also keep us in bondage of self centeredness! Protecting ourselves at all cost! Not loving others as we are told and shown to do by Christ! Fear grips every person in some way, some how, no matter who you are! Some tuff men say "I fear no man or nothing", yet that same, very tuff man will be scared to go home after work and hear his 100 lb. wife gripe or say something to him! I have been known on occasion to say to those who say "I do not fear anyone or anything" "your a liar"....WHY? Because we all fear it is apart of our sinful flesh! Just because you don't see it or recognize it or admit it does not mean it is not there! ALL sin has some fear element to it! Either before we sin or during or after! We may fear we will get caught, before we even do it but do it anyway... we may fear as we are even doing it but enjoy it to much to stop.... we may fear the consequences that come after the sin......! Fear keeps us in bondage!

1Th 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

The interest thing about fear is that what ever we fear has become a idol and BIG to us! We see it as much more powerful and bigger than God! God has become little because he is now on the backburner instead of the front burner of our minds!

As your sitting in your chair as you read this, just look at the light above your head on the ceiling, that's God! Now take your hand and put it right in front of your eyes and look at it! It blocks out the light and becomes BIG! Your hand has now become bigger to your eyes! It has become the idol that has blocked the light of God! Don't let your performance, works... or other people's opinions become BIG, your idols and fear them!

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Remember while people or performance may have become your idol and fear is gripping you and holding you in bondage, they are not the problem! We do not fight flesh and blood but rather everything that is exalted in our minds above God! We have allowed the person or thing to become exalted, Big, and therefore we fear! We have allowed fear to keep us in bondage! Just because you know that God is bigger does not mean that your flesh is not reacting to fear! Have you ever seen a movie and either began to cry or you get mad or your feelings begin to do something! You begin to react to the stimuli of what you are seeing! FUNNY AND SADLY IT IS NOT EVEN REAL! That is what Hollywood wants, but we are reacting to what we see, feel or desire!

Fear is a feeling that God allows us to have in order to show us we are exalting something else above Him! Don't be arrogant and say you do not fear, just recognize it, admit it and call what it is, and than bring your thoughts into obedience of Christ by receiving, and resting in His love for you!

If you want to know the antidote for fear it is Love! but not worldly love... Only God's love, WHY only God's love, because GOD IS LOVE!
1 Jo 4:8 ...for God is love. ... 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Put on God's love each and every day as well as everytime time you fear and walk in freedom instead of bondage!

Free at last, free at last,

Stop hiding behind Walls, Works and Words!
As I meet and counsel with couples.... one of the things I have to deal with is a build up of Walls! In relationships it easy to build up walls so that we can protect ourselves from being hurt and rejected! This is common with everyone to some extent! When our spouse hurts us we want to reject or take vengeance on them in some way! We may just shut down completely and not talk or share life with them! We also may say things like " I don't do what you do"...and "I am better than you, you do this or that......"! "and Why don't YOU love me the way a man (or women) is suppose to...doesn't the bible say your suppose to love me and give yourself to me....."! You see we use "OUR WORKS" (our performance or success...) against them, or to manipulate them! We use "OUR WORDS" and even quote the bible... to protect ourselves, defend our selves or to again manipulate them! Most of us can relate to this in some way....!

I have noticed in church's, pastor's, bible studies, social media and any other type of social places that we all do the same thing! We tend to "hide behind Walls, Works and Words"! We tend to use the bible to protect ourselves from being open and honest with one another! We quote scripture, throw out bill board answers and counsel from the word as well but not really listen to each other! We only want to "teach" and parrot doctrine, "God says this", "Paul says this" and "we need to rightly divided that"....... when really we haven't matured enough to even be honest with ourselves! Being honest with God and ourselves is the first step to being humble and submit to God to begin with! AND then hopefully we can be honest with the body also! IF we are hiding behind our works (successes and performance) and words (biblical words, doctrine ...) we begin to be even more prideful and arrogant! Paul said in 2 Cor. 12:9 that he would rather glory and boast about his infirmities, so that the power of Christ might rest on him and be shown through him!

Relating to God, your spouse, children and even your church, starts with being humble, taking a honest appraisal and look at yourself and just admitting it! Admitting your sin, isn't failure in fact it is the first step to being a mature Christian! Fearing rejection from others keeps you in bondage to THEM not free in Christ!
Stop building WALLS and start building Relationships, first with God than with others! Build a strong foundation using the 5 R's, Repentance, Renew, Rest, Reconciliation and Reach!

in faith, by grace,

Old verses New!
Perhaps this BLOG will date me a little, but when I was young we only had one phone and it hung on a wall in the hallway! When it rang it would be 1 or 2 or 3....rings so you knew who it was for, because it was a party line, meaning your neighbors all shared the same line! It also meant if you were nosey that you could listen in on their calls! OOPS!!! We can't imagine phones like that now could we! Things change, life changes!

Have you tried to put OLD car parts in a NEW car today they just don't work and even if you could it would really bog the car down and possibly make it worse! So we shouldn't do that, but I bet some people do or try too!

While all that sounds Old and ridicules, that is what many Christians do in life and with their understanding of the bible! The bible starts in Genesis..."in the beginning..." and ends in Revelation's! This is God's time table for man and shown and given for eternity! He has blessed us with a book that shows us everything from beginning to end, but we are not at the end yet! We are somewhere in the middle too end! God has shown us how He dealt with those in the beginning and the how He formed Israel to give man and the world structure and boundaries! Man had no Law or boundaries and was wicked so He allowed Israel to be the deliverer of those boundaries through the Law! They were not very good at following those Laws so God was going to send A Messiah to help them, redeem them and therefore the world! BUT they did not accept Him and they killed Him! This is all "OLD parts" in a way! It was Law and work and ordinances...., that Israel had to perform in order to be cleansed ,holy and accepted! Since the ones who were suppose to know and do these ordinances could not, or better said would not and than killed the deliverer... God said I will bring "NEW PARTS" to fix the problem! These "NEW" parts are simply found in Christ alone! Christ death, burial and resurrection was all the parts/work needed and if received by faith and "put in our car" it will be fixed eternally! Don't try to conform nor perform and put old parts, via law, works and ordinances into YOUR car, just remember your car is fixed by the greatest mechanic there is, JESUS!

The instruction manual for these "new" parts are found in Paul's writings. Trying to put Israel's parts into gentile cars will only result in a bogged down life! By the way Jesus earthly ministry was to Israel, (the books Matthew -John under law)! Peter, James and Johns books are addressed to Israel also,
so read Paul's books for your car to run properly and to ZOOM AWAY IN LIFE!

1Tim 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

As I had heard and read and then watched the news on TV give the announcement of John McCain's death and then give his funeral and ceremonies, I am left with a lot of mixed feelings! He did seem to be a man of honor and of servant type life and attitude! Yet I have been around to long enough to know that that is usually on the surface of the man. In other words, we must always go back to the word and see what the word says about man! We are born in sin! We without Christ are lost and bound to hell! We need a Savior and that Savior is Jesus Christ! By faith we receive His life, His grace, His love and His forgiveness! We are made righteous and "New"! There is a change of heart and character!

Now it is this character that I want to talk about! If our character, our Spirit is not changed than we will be the same, yet by sure will power we can change our behavior for a while or when we need too! We can actually fake life by being "good" and "honorable" with out a truly changed Spirit! These things are seen in the not so public eye or in the "little" things in life! The things that are hidden from most but seen everyday if we look for them! A heart for the Word, for the body, praying and perhaps subtly and just as important in our mouths! When I hear a person cuss or tell a bad, sexual or immoral joke I cringe on the inside! A alluded, bad joke shows more than you might think about the character of that person!

HONOR is shown and seen from a character that has been totally changed from the Spirit of God! So then the only one who should be praised and HONORED is GOD through JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD! Give God the glory and honor HE DESERVES!

Godliness is being committed and content in the King of kings and Lord of lords!
1Tim 6:1 Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. 2 And they that have believing masters, let them not despise them, because they are brethren; but rather do them service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort. 3 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

Godliness! The teaching of Godliness is missing in many areas of our society, but perhaps never as much as in our homes! Parents teach your kids about God, who He is and how they can be saved! Paul always says that the gospel of grace in which he teaches is the gospel of salvation for today! Any one who does not teach, believe or follow this doctrine is in error! The bible is a book of transition, in other words it changes according to Gods purpose for man! God does not change but His ways and instruments have! We are saved by faith in grace, in Christ death and resurrection alone! This is only found in Paul's books and is called the mystery not prophesy!

4 He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, 5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

Paul tells us to withdraw from those who will not listen or submit to this Godliness or gospel. They always want to argue, battle over law and works! Separate yourself from these people! Separation is the "only discipline" the church can do toward others. We can't spank or beat, or throw in jail but we can separate. It is my belief that if the church, the people that is, would do this more in everyday life with family and friends, that they would come to Christ faster and the church would be more Godly in the fellowships!

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Being CONTENT, in Christ is the most important thing you can be outside of salvation to begin with! Being content means no matter what the circumstances are, no matter what is going on,... I am at peace and rest in God's arms and I no longer need to fear failure, rejection or any man!
I need not find comfort in anything else but in God's love!
God is the comforter, so be content in His Love for you!

It is hard for those who have money and success, to believe and trust in God or others for that matter, because they have been so self efficient and self righteous and can get and buy anything they want! By the way, Notice Paul says "for the love of money".... rich or poor can lust for money!

11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. 13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

Notice that Paul encourages Timothy and us to follow righteousness first!! Than Godliness 2nd!! Not just love! While God is love, and we receive that from Him, we first must understand that God's love is always righteous and Godly! The church seems to have that confused with worldly love! That is why we need to separate from ungodliness! To show the world as well as keep ourselves and the church pure!

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: 15 Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

Let us Honor and remember His great Power, because He is the KING OF kings and LORD of lords! God is Spirit and His very being shines so bright that no one can approach except through Christ! He is Perfect, Holy and Righteous! HE IS THE GREAT "I AM"!!

Thank Him Church! Praise Him! Be content in Him alone!
Godliness is being content in the KING of kings and
LORD of lords!!!

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; 19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. 20 O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: 21 Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.

Some will fail and error when it comes to faith in the gospel of grace alone, but You Dear Saint, keep that which is committed unto you! STAND IN FAITH, STAND IN GRACE and let Your family and friends know and be encourage by your FAITH!

grace be with you all,

Our Hope is in Christ, alone!
1Thes 4:1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. 2 For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. 3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: 4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour; 5 Not in the lust of concupiscence, even as the Gentiles which know not God: 6 That no man go beyond and defraud his brother in any matter: because that the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also have forewarned you and testified.

We defraud, take from others when we seek our own pleasure at the expense of another! By fornicating, living with, sexually involved in any way outside of marriage it is sin! So many Christians or they claim to be beleivers live in this sin, live after their own flesh and pleasure and not for the Lord! They are looking for love, acceptance and affection in the wrong place! This only brings more death, more sadness and emptiness within!

4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness. 8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

God has called us to Himself and to receive life from Him not man! When we sin in defrauding by fornification we sin against God and man! The Spirit of God brings life from within! So many Christians have no confidence in them selves because they seek man's love instead of God's love!

4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; 11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

When we receive God's love and mature in His love we will be confident, secure and giving to others! We will listen and stead of talking! Our talk will be about God, not ourselves! Our talk wil be to encourage others to go to God, and receive from Him! Our hearts will be to be rightly work and to be self sufficient so that we can give to others in some way! We will be honest with others as well as ourselves! Honest with God and Honest with the Body of Christ!

14:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

When we are saved and "IN" the Spirit of God and walk "after" the Spirit of God, we have such HOPE! Our HOPE is in Christ! NOW and in the future for ever!! We know that no matter what goes on now, whether we are killed for our beleifs , or are picked on for how we live our lives in Christ we will soon be with Christ in physical form! NOW we still find comfort and hope in our Spirit and mind now, but we can also find HOPE in the Body of Christ too! Encourage one another that Christ is coming for us and we do not need to fear what man can do to us, but rather we can comfort man, with God's love and Christ life!

Ask for help, it shows a humble heart!
1 Cor 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

My granddaughter use to tell me how to tie her shoes! She acted as if she was the only one who knew how! She was the authority on tying her shoes, and grandpa did not how and did it all wrong!
Its funny how at even a young age we can act so bossy and controlling!

Often I find adults and even Christians behave in a way that says I know more and I know how life works! They may have some experience in life, but experience alone does not mean you know how life really works! In fact experience and knowledge alone can actually make us even "more" prideful! We learned how to cope in certain situations and circumstances and want to pass that on, but it does not mean that it was dealt with rightfully nor Godly!

Sometimes I find the Christian who is so controlling who has studied a few hours in life to now tell me everything he knows about the bible and God! Sadly he thinks he is the authority because he has "studied" or "googled" something over the weekend! I can usually tell that this person knows very little because he will almost always go back to Law, or go to the book of revelations and want to tell me everything about the end times! That's everything they are interested in! How to "do" the "do'es" and How to control his future that way he can feel secure, he thinks!

Folks it does not matter how much you study if your character does not transform into more Godliness and that only comes trough repentance! It does not matter how much experience you have been through if you do not know or rely on God! It does not matter IF YOU ARE NOT HUMBLE! We ALL need help, we all need to be taught, trained and corrected in life! Until Christ is formed in us!
Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,...
Get help!

Identity and sin! To whom do you belong too?
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Identity gives meaning and purpose! So knowing "WHO" we are and to "WHOM" we belong too, makes a big difference! If you are a believer than you are a "child of God" "who is deeply loved, totally accepted and completely forgiven"! We forget "WHO" lives in us and "WHO" we live "IN"!!!! We live "IN" JESUS, in heaven, Spiritually!!!

Rom 14:23.... for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

So when we forget our identity, and not walk by faith we sin! And sin is death! It "feels" like death! It looks like death and it torments us! Although we may enjoy it at will kill us! Just like someone who takes drugs and gets high, it may "feel" good at first, but soon you are hooked on it and in bondage to it! Sadly it is not just the drugs that you are in bondage too but also to Satan, the world and performance, success or failure! You want attention and affection from others and lastly in bondage to your very own emotions!

1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, 10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;

So while we do not live under the law for salvation and it does not give life, we can use the law to understand what is sin! Sadly many believers do not listen to the Spirit nor know the Word of God well enough to even know if it is sin! They believe what they believe is normal even though it is sin! I see so many young people living "in" sin yet go to church, quote scripture and believe that what they are doing in their everyday life is OK!

Jas 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

If you are a believer and know what your doing is wrong, repent! Run to God, walk in faith, and turn your back on whatever you in bondage too! If you are a child of God and know what is good unto God then do it! Don't sacrifice your conscience for pleasure! Your internal for external pleasure! Your internal, Spirit and Soul and is much more important than your body, YET what you do with your body shows what you are believing! It shows to "whom" you are serving, "SELF" or GOD!

God's grace gives....!
Rom 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; 12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; 13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. 14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. 15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. 17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. 18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. 19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. 20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. 21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Paul tells us in Romans 1-8, That we are justified, reconciled and righteous in Christ! Paul then tells us we have different gifts, functions and ministries in the body! BUT ALL of us are to be aware and be ready to do these things....
2. Be kind
3. not be slothful/lazy
4. Rejoice,patient and pray
5. give
6. bless
7. rejoice and real!
8. Be of one HUMBLE mind
9. not be vengeful
10.peaceable if possible

10 things to pray about and be aware of
BUT ALWAYS, ALWAYS ,ALWAYS remember who you are in Spirit and "WHO" is in you doing the work!

in grace always,

2 Co 8:5 And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.....
7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

I use to golf before I hurt my back some years back! I also use to play a lot of different sports. I was a weightlifter, and as in all sports the tendency is to be more aggressive in order to do better! In order to hit the ball harder and get more yardage...! BUT in golf the more aggressive usually means hitting the ball the wrong way. Slicing and dicing the ball. I never was any good at golf, needless to say!

Like Golf, Growing Spiritually seems hard sometimes. We tend to think if we are more aggressive, as well as work and strive we will grow! BUT just as I played golf, that can make it worse! Don't work harder work smarter!

Notice verse 5 from above! "BUT FIRST THEY GAVE THEMSELVES TO THE LORD"! Receiving, means yielding, submitting and allowing God to be GOD! Receiving means I do less, and rest more! It means allowing God to do HIS work through me! So try receiving and resting more and then you will abound even more in these areas!

1. First everything Spiritually!
2. faith
3. speaking/sharing
4. knowledge
5. diligence
6. love
7. grace

Now Paul emphasis the grace part! Grace is given, so receive it! We can not receive if we position our minds and hearts to work in order to get! We must first receive grace from God and then GIVE to others!

To often teachers teach and churchs hear "give to others first and "THEN" you will "feel" the grace of God and the gift of giving"! The problem with that is that we would be giving out of our flesh, our efforts, our works.... to "GET" FIRST... verses the other way around... and that is called "sin"!

Receive from God and then give to others!

Lying Lips, dishonor God!
Lying Lips, dishonor God!

While we all sin... there is a difference in a way a person goes through life! We all may think and have sinful thoughts....but we all do not act on them! If we act on those sinful thoughts and do not repent aka "change of mind", we will go down a very hard road! Both are sin but one is engaging the body and can affect others greatly as well as ourselves! The difference is like someone thinking and lusting after someone but not acting on it,...OR one who has a affair with someone, and then continues without regard for God or others!... AND at the same time goes to church, and/or talks about how "great" God is "without" ever discerning their own hearts and behavior! One "who seems" to give God praise through there lips YET dishonors Him with their bodies! In Matthew 15:8 Jesus tells Israel,"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me".

You see we can talk and say great words about God, but if our everyday, day in and day out life is not given over to God we are not honoring God we are actually hurting our selves, family AND the BODY OF CHRIST! No wonder non believers say the church is no different then them, and full of hypocrites!

Remember Rom 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service".

The way of TRUELY WORSHIPPING GOD is through our bodies as well as your Spirit! The everyday, day in and day out, "living sacrifice" is accepted by God! Your body is not yours to begin with, if your a believer.
1 Co 6:18 "Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. 19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's".

Your body is God's, as well as your Spirit and Soul!
Remember, "lying lips, dishonor God"...
BUT a body that is sacrificed unto God,

for your edification,

Don't be deceived, child of God!!
1Co 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

I often see Christians who know that God has forgiven them and that we live in the dispensation of grace! YET they still are deceived in the fact that they can live and do whatever they want with out consequences! While on one hand they are forgiven on the other hand sin brings death! We may have eternal life but live now in bondage! Bondage to fear, men pleasing, and seeking love and affection from others! We may walk in rejection, death and lust constantly to feel comforted or loved! We may think we are getting a way with sin or we may even think we can work it out eventually but that is not what scripture tells us! The truth is what we sow is what we reap! If we sin, there is a death process and the more we walk in that direction the worse it will get! On the other hand, the more we sow and walk according to the Spirit the more we benefit and have life!

Seek God, receive His love and be discipline in honoring and worshipping Him! In Spirit, Soul and Body!

Don't be deceived child of God, for GOD IS LOVE!

Sadly we see that suicide has sky rocketed as of recently! Teens, adults, as well as the rich and famous! People are hurting, sad and with out hope! Feelings of rejection and a need for love and security! Desperate for change but can not find it!

The reason for this is that their focus is on self! We may not like to say it, or perhaps we think it is being mean but the reality is that they are consumed with self! They "lust for love, and fear rejection"! Now I can this because I too have been there! I too have come to that place where if I would have had a gun it would be over with! BUT again I was consumed with self!

The bible calls this sin! Funny that ALL of us have this same problem, yet some take it to the point of suicide! It is like a child's tantrum, that if "I don't get my way, then I will end it now"! "Give it to me or else, I'll show you"!
After all "I AM GOD"! This really is the crux of it all! Trying to be God of our lives! Satan set it up in Genesis 3 and it has been going on forever! I can be my own God!!!

Perhaps what is even saddest to me is that the answer to all this is Jesus Christ! We want love, He gave it! We want life, He died to give it to us! We want acceptance He receives us! WE want HE GIVES!

While we need to be sympathetic toward those who are struggling with suicide, let us never forget the problem, sin and the answer, JESUS!

WHO adds to your life?
Gal 2:6 .....for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:

Often times we want and seek others opinions! We want them to like us, to love us and to accept us! Their opinion means more than God's opinion of us! People seem BIG and God seems small! But Paul says here in Gal. 2:6 "for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:"! No one can add more to your life than Jesus! For JESUS IS LIFE! God's opinion is THE ONLY opinion that matters! Make God BIG and others small! Now that is not to say we can ignore others, or act prideful, arrogant or unloving toward them in fact just the opposite! We are to love them because God loves us! We can forgive as God forgave us! We can correct, rebuke and exhort them because we are not caught up in "their" opinion but rather God's! And encouraging them to go to God, seeking God love, because this is loving them!
WHO is more important in your life...people or God?

1. Do I seek others acceptance?
2. Do I want praise for my work?
3. I get sad/depressed when my spouse or children don't appreciate what I do or say "I love you"!
4. I often seek guidance from others first before God's word!
5. I often seek love, approval, acceptance, affirmation, applause, attention...from others!

If you do any of these things at all,
This is telling you are looking for some one to "add" to your life other than God!
Make GOD BIG and others small!

Living in the Present!
Rom 6:22 BUT NOW being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
AND 1Co 10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

I often look back and think of my childhood, and rememeber the good times and yes sometimes the bad! While it is ok to look back and reflect on those times we can not "live" there! We must "LIVE" in the present! Now our past can teach us things that we should not do, as well as things that may help us today! BUT we can't "LIVE" there! LIKE old cars that use certain parts for it's engines, can not be used in new ones! They may not even make the old ones!

The same goes for the future! We can dream, hope and fantasize about our future but we can't "LIVE" there! We need to not set unrealistic expectations for ourselves or others! WE can't control the future, and besides, God has already told us the future! IF you are a believer you are in Christ, and in heaven now! When your physical body dies you will be with Him then too! We also know that those that are lost and don't know Jesus as Lord and Savior, well they will be in hell and lost for ever!!

SO you we should not "LIVE" in the past, and we should not "live" in the future, but we should "live" in the present!
We can be honest, confess and repent of our PAST... We can be obedient and faithful with the PRESENT... and we can be hopeful trust and excited about the FUTURE.... but we must "LIVE IN THE PRESENT!

If you are struggling in life, often times you may find that you are looking at a past sin of yours or someone else's! Just be honest, confess it to the Lord, and renew your mind by receiving His love, and if need forgive! You also may be struggling with the future of your spouse or kids, or others! While you may have depression about your past, Anxiety is about the future and again just be honest and share with the Lord, and renew your mind!
Whether it is PAST-PRESENT-FUTURE all is forgiven, and you are SECURE IN CHRIST!

Spouses Seperation and the Sanctified Saint!
I hear people say in church or counseling that their marriages are so bad, They just want to stop, and get a divorce! The reason for this, most of the time, one of them or both say " they just don't love me"! "They do not talk or care about me"! Now while that may be true, we must always keep a Christian, Godly and Spiritual point of view of our thoughts and perspectives! For instance Christ died for you even when You were UNLOVABLE! A sinner, someone who was totally incapable of love! God initiated and sent Christ to reconcile the world before the world was capable of even knowing or giving love. You and I can do the same as God did and that is to be the initiator of love! Here are some things you can do in order to be the initiator of God's righteous love!

1. REPENT- while you may have been the receiver of sin and rejection by your spouse, your reaction out of your flesh, is sin too! Anger, mad, bitterness, holding them guilty of not loving you...... comes from your flesh and is called sin! Stop setting standards that your spouse must love you, and treat you a certain way! Demanding and judging as if you ARE GOD! SET no expectations, even Godly expectations! That is between God and them not you! Don't let pride get in the way!

2. RENEW your mind constantly... "I am a child of God who is deeply loved, totally accepted and completely forgiven"! "I am a saint, that is sealed in the most high God, sealed, secure and transformed in to a NEWCREATURE"!!!! I don't "NEED" my spouses love but rather I will "GIVE" my spouse love! Because I am loved and secure in Christ!!!!

3. REST in Christ and in Christ ALONE! Let your emotions and mind have time to come to peace in Christ and God's love! Until rest comes you are still fleshly but it will come if you continue to "Tell yourself the truth, by faith and receive it"... you will have to "work" to rest!

4. RECONCILE BY EXTENDING FORGIVENESS!!! You will walk in bitterness, rejection and death if you do not extend forgiveness!!! Forgiveness with out standards or expectations back! "... forgive as you have been forgiven.." AGAIN Don't let pride get in the way! (saying they need to forgive me first!!!)

SEEK FORGIVENESS for your sin that you did against your spouse! It does not matter if they seek your forgiveness, you are responsible for your sin and heart! and AGAIN Don't let pride get in the way! (like they need to ask me first!)

5. REACH out to them when you can, however you can! Just like if you love and lead someone who is lost to Christ, do the same with your spouse! AGAIN Don't let pride get in the way! (saying they need to come to me first!!!)

IF you find that you can not do these things, than it is "you" who need help and need to come to God! It is you that has the problem, and perhaps just as much as your spouse! EVERYTHING in life is too drive us to the cross, that we may have life in Christ and glorify God! Perhaps what is needed is for you to come to the cross!

in grace and love,

So often we need help but don't ask for it! It really is a lie from Satan, that we believe, just like in Gen 3:1-2! That we can play/act and think that we are God! We think we can fix, work or do life on our own! ONLY God, is God and needs no one! Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!
Isa 40:13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
Yet even God chose to create man to be with Him!

Here are some questions to ask yourself!
1. Why Do I seem to struggle through life?
2. Do I feel depressed or anxious?
3. I tend to think that I "should" be able to handle circumstances alone, yet I'm not!
4. Why do I hurt emotionally most of the time?
5. If I ask for help I will look weak, stupid or ....?
6. I often think that no one can do it right, or how I would it, so I might as well do it myself!
7. "When I have asked for help no one is ever there to help me"!
8. "Why ask for help, all they ever do is lecture, preach or yell at me"!
9. "Where is God, and God only wants to punish me, I am alone"!
10. Everything I do seems hard....!

These are just a few things you may say or ask yourself! If you could relate to any of the questions or statements then get help! Asking for help, from God, and others may not only help but "SAVE" your life! ASK for help, life does not need to be hard all the time! Ask God, a spouse, parent, pastor/teacher, friend and yes even a Christian counselor!

Memorial Day!
I remember when I was young that we went to my mom's family cemetery and put flowers on the graves of her family members! Even if they did not serve in combat it was a time when my mom could remember and decorate their graves! We also had a reunion for her families side! Now I have to admit that those reunions were not my favorite thing to do, especially for a whole weekend, but it was only one weekend!

Monday is Memorial day and we remember those who fought and died for our country! If you have family or friends who died remember them! Also I encourage us to remember and honor those who died that we do not know! Their have been several wars and sometimes we forget those in the past such as the revolutionary, civil and World war 1 and 2! Their was the Korean, and Vietnam war! As well as some not so popular but just as significant wars, such as the Mexican-American, Spanish and all the Indian wars dating back to the revolutionary times! Their were wars that we sent troops too help, but the war was not ours to speak of! We have the more modern wars such as Iraq, Afghan and middle east in general! These that are mentioned are really only scratching the surface of the involvements as well as the loss of life of so many! Don't forget them as well as those who serve and have served to protect and allow such great freedom that we have here in the U.S.!

NOW just as important that we remember so many millions of men and women who have died for our country, let us NEVER, EVER, FORGET, the ONE man who died for the world! The ONE man who died so that even those who died in war may have hope in battle before they too were killed! The ONE man that took on ALL and stood against the enemy and the one who tries to rob the eternal and internal freedom within us!

That One man called JESUS!

enjoy and remember,

Let these things rule your heart!
Here are some things that if you let them rule your heart it will make a difference in your marriage and relationships!

1. Put on God's Love for you, daily!
2. Extend and seek forgiveness!
3. Let God's peace rule your heart!
4. Let God's Word have priority in your life, so that...
5. you can teach, admonish, and exhort others to Christ!
6. Let your heart "sing" with gratitude of God's grace!
7. Do all things as if you are serving, and giving to God...
8. Submit to God, and each other,
9. Obey to whom is in authority, not argumentative
10. Have a single, serving, heart for God!

Do these routinely and you will see your life change as well as those around you!

Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. 22 Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: 23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

in grace,
