The Word of God "IS" God!
2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

I want to encourage you to read the Word daily! The Word of God "IS" God!! By the revelation of God the "words" are inspired and given to and through authors! NOW it is vitally important to know that the verse says the "scriptures" are inspired, not the men who wrote it! Sometimes in scripture God spoke to unfaithful, gentile men to say things for His purpose...! The words are inspired even if the author is not!

READ the WORD as if they are GOD because they ARE!!!

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. ...

ALSO
The WORD is JESUS too! Notice He says in
John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
AND IN
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Speaking about Jesus!!!So Jesus is the WORD!!!

NOW IN
1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
IT says the Holy Ghost is also the WORD as being ONE with God and Jesus!

So read your bible just as you would be hearing from and talking to God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit!!!

Go fellowship with the Body and have a great weekend!

in Christ,
Howard

Rest your soul by Faith!
As Robin and I read through the Word this morning, as our normal habit, I thought I would share with you...

Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. 10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. 11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The world revolves around one fear to another! If you watch the news you will see that they even cater to the fears and make their stories around them to sell the program and station! They know that the more fear they can create that it feeds the natural man to want to beware and prevent some disaster, some hurt that may becoming our way!!! The mind races to fix, work and protect at all cost! It is fearful and anxious and not at peace!!!!

Sadly many Christians act the same as the world! Because we have had the same nature before coming to the Lord we have old habits that stick with us for our entire life UNLESS we do something about them! Those old habits are in our minds and lived out in our feelings! The battle is not in our SPIRIT because it is filled with the Spirit of God! So our problem is our Soul were our mind, will and emotions are! Our mind is attacked by the world, flesh and yes even Satan! So we need to RENEW our minds on what is already TRUE IN OUR SPIRIT! We are already saved and secure and have PEACE in our Spirit already! We do not need to do anything externally, but rather internally REST MENTALLY ON THE TRUTH IN OUR SPIRIT! We already have God's love, God's grace, God's forgiveness, God's acceptance.....TELL YOURSELF THE TRUTH UNTIL REST AND PEACE ARE MANIFEST....aka REAL!!!!!

Put your SOUL at REST by FAITH in what Jesus has already done...not on what the next fear may be!

resting in Christ,
Howard

What do I 'do" when I don't know what to "do"?
This is something I think we all deal with! What to do when I don't know what to do? I know I can become anxious and think well I need to go "do" something!! I become more aggressive instead of less at times! OR I become less aggressive and procrastinate in doing anything because I don't want to fail or be rejected again!

I think the best thing to "do" when I don't know what to "do" is to "do" nothing, except pray, rest and renew my mind! I need to know and tell myself that if I "do" nothing I am still accepted and loved by God! I need to tell myself that I can fail or even be rejected but that God still loves me and that I don't need the approval of people ! I don't "need" to be successful because I am already a success...and complete, whole and sufficient in Him! I don't need to fear but instead I can "do" or NOT "do"! I can go about my day resting, rejoicing and waiting to discern and make a decision without fear of failure, rejection or punishment from God or anyone else!

"DO" you ever think like this?

let's just enjoy the freedom we have in Christ today!

because He Lives,

GOOD COMMUNICATION!
Good communication is hard, it takes work and time, like any other thing in life! Men usually struggle with this more than women, as we tend to think about doing and work before relationships and therefore talk less than women! Women are much better at communication then men,... yet often take short cuts by yelling and demanding or confusing everything with to many words, thoughts and feelings and not staying on the subject! Both can grow on this subject!

Good communication stays on subject to resolve something and/or we can share with openness about ourselves by taking self responsibility for what we think, feel and say!

Good communication also means good listening skills! Again women are good listeners men are not! So men listen more and speak less...women need to do the same and speak slowly and clearly on the subject without adding more things! (remember ladies we men can not multi-task like you...! Ha!)

When wanting to talk to someone (family or business) and setting a appointment with each other be sure and tell them what you want to talk about and try to work together for a time!

I don't know how many times people call me and say "hey Howard, call me back"! It comes across as 1.demanding and 2.I have no idea what the subject matter is as well as how much time to set aside! It could be for counseling 1-2 hours or a 5 minute question on nothing of great importance which could be answered by email!! To add they often do not want to talk about one thing... but rather they "just want to talk" to someone!

Work at communicating with others and always look at how you share and could improve yourself! Work at being open, transparent and sharing as well as listening to others!

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Have a great weekend folks,

Hope!
There are times when I fear the future! When I think about getting old and retirement, will Robin and I be ok especially financially! Will we have to be in a home and taken care of! Will we be able to function normally!

Do you ever think of these types of things? Even for a minute or two we can have thoughts and fears! We can have worries and doubts! Now just because we have them does not mean we have lost our salvation or faith but rather that we are human! With a fleshly nature, that desires to control and know the future! If I know for sure what will happened then I can prepare for it, or be content and comforted in it! I can work harder to fix the wrong before it happens!

I can't control my earthly future though! I may be hit by a drunk driver or get cancer or....! I may not have enough money, and may need to be taken care of by someone! I will never know and can not control life!

Sometimes it helps to put EVERYTHING in perspective of ETERNITY! While I can not control or know what will happened on earth in my future....I can be comforted and live in peace NOW! I can "feel" secure in Christ Now because the ultimate future is taken care of in Him! If I do get cancer, I will be with Him! If I do get hit by a drunk driver I will be with Him! If I do need help and taken care of by someone, I can still thank Him and know that soon I will be with Him!

I can keep a "ETERNAL" perspective on everything and LIVE IN HOPE TODAY!!!

Phl 1:21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

in hope,

Sowing and Reaping equally!
Rom 15:27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

1Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

As I said in yesterdays devotional, that I was desiring to hear back from you! I so desire to hear from you all! I want to know how your doing! How your family is doing and your prayer request if any! It encourages me to continue to help you! Some of you did email back and I am grateful for those emails that encourage me to continue daily! Just as I sow hopefully, good spiritual things, hopefully you reap good spiritual things! Yet I want to encourage you to also sow spiritually as well as carnally into others! Now carnally here does not mean bad, sinful things but rather things that can be touched or earthy! Carnally can mean food, shelter, clothing.... I remember my dad giving cars away when I was young! He was giving cars away that I wanted, ha!.... but I was always impressed and encouraged that he gave to others in need! Now I am not saying to give your car away, but rather using that as a example!

When we reap we should also sow! If you sowed seed into the ground and not reap anything it would be worthless work and it would die! Most of you go to work and sow your effort into your job and then expect to be paid for it! Sowing work and reaping pay, that is how life works and you pay for your food, shelter and help protect your family!
Sowing spiritually into others lives is the same! Sowing spiritually uplifting words of encouragement and truth can help others grow in faith and therefore encourage them to live for Christ! Reaping those words only though, and not sowing back can make us self centered and NOT grow in faith! Sadly many go to church and never give back in anyway, they just keep taking and taking!

Sowing and reaping are BOTH equally important! Learn how to give as well as receive!

as always for you, and may God get the glory,
Howard

The Fellowship of love!
Phil. 1:3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, 5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; 6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: 7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. 8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;

Paul tells the church in Philippi that he prays for them and has great joy for their fellowship in the gospel! Paul is encouraged that they are in The Fellowship of LOVE! What I mean by that is that the gospel is about God! It is about God's love for man and how He reconciled with man by showing His love through His son Jesus!

AND so when we are in fellowship we must understand that LOVE! Now this love is not a secular, worldly love but is a righteous, Godly love! It is not perverted nor selfish but it is a giving and receiving of God! It is giving and receiving of God's love to one another! It is always desiring God's will not ours! It respects others boundaries while always within God's boundaries! It is giving as much as receiving!

Just as Paul had the Philippian church in his heart, so let us also have "THE FELLOWSHIP OF LOVE IN OUR HEART"!

in His Love,
Howard

DAILY!
Here are some things you can do DAILY that will help you grow in grace and walk by faith!

1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1. Read Daily!
1Ti 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading...
Read the word for 3-5 minuets or more a day! Read a chapter or two daily.... do what you can, when you can but read! Make it a priority in your life, because it is life and gives life! The more you read the more knowledge you have, the more knowledge you have, the more you will be able to walk by faith and therefore be transformed, which is what God's will is for every believer!

2. BE EXHORTED!...
1 Tim 4:13...to exhortation...
... which means to be refreshed, comforted and peaceful in Christ! It means too "GO TO" Christ and REST in HIM! Spend time with Him and allow Him to minister to your needs, which are always the need to be loved!

3. DOCTRINE UNDERSTANDING!
1 Tim. 4:13...to doctrine.
Spend time in understanding doctrine, meaning the teachings of Jesus through Paul the Apostle to the gentiles!
Paul's books alone are for us today so know and understand the difference between Israel's laws and works verses our Grace worth, walk and works!

4. MEDITATE DAILY!
1Ti 4:15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
..., think and ponder on "WHO" CHRIST is, "WHO"CHRIST is in You and "WHO" you have become! This should come first until Christ is formed in you! Until you walk, feel and mature in Christ love! Meditate on the word constantly!!!

5. REJOICE DAILY!! 1 Thes. 5:16 Rejoice evermore.
Rejoice in Christ daily! Now I know we all have bad days, but if you Renew your mind, Rest in Christ then Rejoice in Him you will find a whole different perspective in life!

6. PRAY DAILY!!!
1 Thes. 5:17 Pray without ceasing.
NEVER EVER STOP PRAYING! Talk with God, be real with God and receive from God!!! Praying is something we are told to do constantly with out ceasing!!!! So Pray, Pray, Pray! Praying is renewing , resting, receiving, meditating.... so PRAY!

7. GIVE THANKS DAILY!
1 Thes 5:8 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Be thankful for God's forgiveness, acceptance and LOVE! He always Loves you and has already forgiven you so THANK HIM CONSTANTLY! A Thankful heart is a content heart! A Thankful heart is a peaceful heart, not a anxious, fearful or demanding heart!

So Read, Exhort, in Christ teachings from Paul! And then Rejoice as you Pray and are Thankful in all things, everyday!

Do these daily and over time you will mature and be at peace as well as have joy in your heart!

in Christ love,
Howard

The communion of Christ TODAY is not bread or wine, but in CHRIST ALONE!
While I know that this may offend some and it is also a very, very short explanation as well as a longer Blog than normal I thought I would share anyway!

Now we often see Jesus using the word cup, baptism or bread in many different ways! In fact let me point out that even in the old covenant books it is used in a way that is not representing food or wine!

Jesus used the word cup or baptism to represent his death and even challenged the disciples, as well as told them you will go through this death for my sake!
Mark 10:38 But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?:
39 And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:

Now it is important to remember at this point that Jesus had NOT died nor was the cross of any benefit to Israel! It was a shame that they had killed their Messiah! BUT the cross became the blessing and grace given tool of God to the gentiles who would accept the risen Christ!

Jesus even asked God too take away the "cup" of death and the cross...Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

So you see that the cup, bread and baptism are used in many different ways! For Israel the natural elements bring a spiritual meaning BUT After the cross AND too the BODY of CHRIST and to the gentiles the natural elements are of NO value! It is always the Spiritual elements that bring LIFE and LIBERTY!
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: 17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. ...
20 Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, 21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not; 22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? 23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh. (please go back and read complete chapter and verses.)

In 1Co 11:18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.....
YOU see there were divisions in Corinth and in the first chapter of 1 Cor. it talks about divisions and who baptized who and Paul said.... 1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
SO PAUL is describing in 1 Cor. 11, not the communion of bread or wine, natural elements but rather the partaking of being UNITED IN CHRIST BODY!
1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. 26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

AND SO when we are NOT in UNITY we are NOT worthy of the BODY OF CHRIST! We are to be in UNITY IN CHRIST IN LOVE!

Don't get caught up in the bread and wine which are only a shadow of the real shedding of blood and Christ cross and bring about NO repentance against the flesh... BUT see the real issue of the heart, mind and Spirit of the COMMUNION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST!

to GOD be the GLORY,
Howard

Stop punishing yourself and others! The blame game is no fun to play!
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

Rom 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Often times we grow up with parents that are harsh even if they know the Lord! Some did not know the Lord and were perhaps even harsher! OR sometimes we go through life and some one time event changes our whole lives forever in some way! Perhaps a molestation, a betrayal or loss of someone! It could be a thousand different things for each one of us, BUT still it is emotional trauma for years!

WE often want a person to be punished and we want justice! We want them to suffer just as we have suffered! We want God to punish them or if not God than man and if man won't , than I will in some way, but they need to be punished in order for me to go on with life! The thinking is like this, " if you do something wrong you need to be punished"! "Every one needs to be punished for wrong including my self"! "Someone needs to take the blame and pay for this"! GET THE POINT!

We often blame others for our sin, and we often want to punish the one who sinned! The one who has sinned needs to be dealt with including myself!!

The problem with all that is that, we put ourselves in the place of God, who is the judge!! AND suffer for it in many ways...bitter, angry, vengeful, and the victim mentally!

We need to realize that Jesus became the propitiation, the sacrifice that has appeased God's wrath and brought the atonement between God and man! We are reconciled to God through Jesus and no one need ever be punished again for sin! The cross of Christ has fulfilled all the requirements for ALL mans sin forever and God's needs no more blood for the punishment or atoning of sin!

You see God is the judge and the only one who needs "too" and "CAN" punish man! He holds the position of authority not you or me! ONLY GOD can bring peace between man and Himself and He has done it though Jesus! God is no longer angry with us because of Christ! So if God, the judge , the only one that has been truly offended by ALL MAN , can forgive we too must forgive and not punish others for their sin as well as not beat ourselves up!

This is not just a fact, but it also helps us emotionally deal with problems and people! By not putting ourselves in the position of God and punishing others we can be free from the bondage of hate and bitterness! IT actually hurts us more to hold onto offences and think that we must blame and punish who ever sins!

We are able to forgive, because we have been forgiven and the power of the living God is within us! So forgive and live in the freedom of the Spirit!

as always for you, in Christ,
Howard

"GOOD WORKS"!!!
We are saved by faith and faith alone and I am NOT suggesting anything different! YET what most legalist say is the fact that we don't follow "THE LAW"!! Notice I said "THE LAW" and not just "law"!!! They often want us to follow "THE LEVITACAL LAW" Along with ALL other laws!!!

Now with that being said we are not saved by "any" law but by faith yet works or fruit as some would say show "WHO" we are devoted too!!! Ourselves or God!

Lets look at some scripture under the Old Cov. given to Israel!
Deut. 30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: ...
John 14:15, If ye love me, keep my commandments.
... 21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

The verses show and ties together devotion and love with obedience!
You see while they had NO cross, No Spirit, No blood.... they were still to follow and be devoted by obedience to the law! IT showed their heart and "WHO" was their God!

We too as gentiles, under grace, with the Spirit in us and after the cross of Christ show our "FAITH" and "HEART" and "LOVE" and "DEVOTION" TO WHOM WE BELONG TOO BY our "GOOD WORKS"!

Lets look at
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

You see Paul is saying that these people showed that they denied God by their works! You see they served themselves and were disobedient!

Now the question that often follows is then "what" are "good" works!!! "GOOD" works are always and anything that brings Glory to God by a "...a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: (1 Tim. 1:5)!!!!! And just so you know....
ONLY BELIEVERS CAN DO GOOD WORKS!!! We can NOT do ANY "Good Works" if we are not saved!!!
You see it is not just preaching or teaching or feeding the poor, helping orphans and giving money... or etc., etc........ BUT it is living by a sincere, genuine faithful heart and mind in all things! That "GIVES" the whole heart and devotion to God by faith! "Good works" are always righteous and Godly and according to His Word!

Just because you go to church or even say "God bless you" or "I will Pray for you" does not mean you are doing a "good work"!

GOOD WORKS are always to bring GLORY TO GOD, without receiving anything in return! Not even a pat on the back, or appreciation or even to get love in return!

I think Mark 7:6 said it best "...This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me".

Lets honor God by a loving, genuine, sincere faithful heart and mind in bringing Glory to God by our
"Good Works"!

for you in Christ love,
Howard

Rejection Roots Reveal Rage!
Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

What is bitterness? Bitterness means a hurt or offense and then a anger or holding of guilt in malice or revenge! A good way of seeing this is by a plant because it has roots... the roots which we can not see underground are the hurts offences and rejections that we feel! But by holding on to them they begin to grow up through the ground and then we see the stem, flower and fruit of those roots! That fruit is anger, hate and vengeful! Those fruits are poison and defile others! They poison, the people who did the offence but it also we defile the people around and even those from far away! The church, family, friends, neighbors ALL may be defiled by your attitude of bitterness! A controlling, independent and judgmental attitude comes from this bitterness and defiles others! Often people get to the point that they do not even want to be around or associate with people that behave that way! The one who acts in this manner then wants even more attention and acceptance BUT NOW goes about it in all the wrong ways! Being controlling and bossy....or Like Esau that want acceptance and cry, whine and plead BUT they do not want to REPENT!!!! They want to be the same way but don't want to submit to God or anyone else AND they want others to change instead of them!

Now just a bit of info on the side here.... Esau became know as the Edomite's which were enemies of Israel! Herod the Great was from the descendants of Esau, and Herod tried to kill JESUS!!!

You see how bitterness and unforgiveness can effect you and others for the rest of their lives....! AND just talking or crying about your hurt does not change anything if anything it waters the roots which fester into even greater weeds of anger and judgement!!!

REPENT, RENEW AND FORGIVE OTHERS!!!! Don't grow into a weed of hate!

Love One Another!
Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

1Th 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. ... 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1Th 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. ... 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.

Rom 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God. ... 14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another.

Here are just a few "one another" verses! The Body of Christ needs to Love, exhort, comfort and receive ONE ANOTHER! We are to teach, edify and minister to one another! We need to forgive, accept and serve one another! There is nothing that the Body, through Christ and His word that we can not do and therefore are called to admonish one another!

We are not to be lone rangers, but rather united in spirit, heart and mind, as well as Body!

If you do not fellowship with other Christians then something is wrong! Pray and be willing to be "willing" to go and be with others not just for others but for yourself too!

We can give spiritually, materially and physical! We can give clothes, food and financially! We can listen, pray and stand along side when another is hurting! We prove by being in unity and fellowship the greatest of the one another verses and that is to LOVE ONE ANOTHER!

in love for you,
Howard

The Secrets of your heart!
1 Cor 14:24 But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all: 25 And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

What secrets are you holding in your heart? Often people come for counseling to fix their marriage or get help with some issue, but I am looking at their hearts! You see the problem is always with our hearts! To whom we live for! To whom we serve, ourselves or God! Once our heart is revealed and the sin is shown and out in the light, we then and only then can we deal with it! The sin is lust, pride and self centeredness in some form! It may look like fear and self protection but it is still self centered not Christ centered!

My job as a minister of God and in counseling someone is to help that person see their sin, and then to walk by faith in Christ! To help them become dependent on Christ! To lead them to the Word, Spirit and Love of God through Christ, until Christ if formed in them! To show them the
SECRETS OF THEIR HEART so that they will fall down and WORSHIP GOD!!!

What are the secrets of your heart dear saint!

in Christ love,

God's love brings balance and security!!!

1Jo 4:8 ...for God is love. ... 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

DEAR SAINTS,
In everything we do there must be a sense of balance! As I get older I notice my sense of balance physically is not the same. My hearing is worse ,my eye sight is worse and I tend to either under or over compensate for things!

The same goes for our spiritual and mental lives as well! Anything can get out of balance! We tend to grow in a area and then make it a law for our selves and everyone else! Anything can become a law if out of balance!

For instance the law of love that God has given us! While we are to love others, we can not demand or "love" unrighteous behavior! We are not to join others in loving the worlds way but rather we are to show the world "what" love looks like or "who love is"..., for GOD IS LOVE! Don't ever forget that Dear Saints!!

Sometimes in order to get over some particular sin or behavior we have to make a principle such as "I won't eat ice cream because I am trying to lose weight".... but eating ice cream is not a sin, unless we over indulge in it! So the principle can "look" or "feel" like a law in order to get results but "A" principle must always be driven by the understanding that this is not good for me AND that God loves me! The Law of God's Love for us is what brings security and must always be understood in order to be free in whatever is bringing bondage into our lives!

LIVE IN THE LAW OF LOVE! AND GOD IS LOVE,and
HE LOVES YOU, DEAR SAINT!

always for you in God's love,
Howard

Thank You Mom!
Mothers day is Sunday and it is a time to reflect as well as celebrate our moms! We all have one and we should say thank you to them.

Now some moms may have given their child up for adoption or perhaps not been the best mom, but we can still give thanks to them for giving us life!

Being a mom has great rewards for instance in
1Ti 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.
Just giving birth has a reward in itself!!! Now this verse encourages moms to be faithful, loving and holy!

Moms also can be such a great influence in our spiritual lives! Teaching and even sharing scripture with their child is one of the greatest privileges a mom can have!
2Ti 1:5 When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.
2 Ti 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Now my mom passed away many years ago but I am always grateful she took me to church each week and she did the best job she could with what she knew to do!

If you don't have your mom in your life or you struggle with offences with your mom, I want to encourage you to forgive as you have been forgiven! Thank God for your mom regardless if she was perfect or not!

By the way some women have not had the privilege of bearing children, that does not make you any less important or less of a women. Your importance and feminine ways are still good and needed in the Body of Christ regardless!

TOO ALL MOMS, THANK YOU!

for you in Christ love,
Howard

Keep Growing!
It is that time of year when Seniors graduate from High school or college! Most feel like they finally are done with school and all the hard work, but really it has only begun! Now the hard knocks of life come! Now is the time to grow even more!

Sometimes believers think this also! "I am saved" and that is all there is to it! Now that is all there is as far as being saved, righteous and forgiven, yet Paul encourages us to keep growing! He says in 2 Cor 8:7 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.

Paul encourages all to abound in everything spiritually speaking! We need to grow in our personal faith! By faith we saved and by faith we continue to live and choose to walk by the spirit! By faith we walk and the result of us growing in faith is that we share Christ! We minister to others and help them grow in knowledge and we show them what true love is! AND all that comes through understanding of God's Grace!

When we try to live by law or works we begin to become isolated and inward in some way,... even if we are trying to do things for others! Giving then is not fruit of the spirit by a byproduct of self righteousness!

So keep growing in everything by spending time with God, receiving from Christ and reading His Word!

Keep growing in grace, love and faith and graduate day by day in the University of Christ!!!

LAW and CURSE vs. BLESSED BY FAITH THROUGH THE SPIRIT !
Gal 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. 10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them. 11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith. 12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them. 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

We all feel down or depressed in some ways sometimes. We tend to beat our selves up for sin or standards that we set and fail at! Those standards are what we have set as a law! Now there is the Levitical laws and they teach us some things about "LAW" in general!

I often hear Christians debating about living or wanting to follow the Levitical law, yet they don't understand that by following "the law" they are putting themselves "under" the law! AND if under you must obey or you would have been under "the curse/blessing" process and program that it brought! So if you were to not follow and do the law than you were cursed!

NOW who in their right mind would want to be cursed!! NO ONE wants to be cursed, RIGHT!! YET that is what would happened if you lived under law!!! You must keep the Law!!!

Now a interesting thing is 1. Gentiles never had the law to begin with...and 2. the Jews were not able to keep it and they had it for a long time!!!

A 3rd thing happens when we try to follow "the" law is that we often "PUT" our selves under "other laws", OUR OWN LAWS, AND Our own standards! And if we fail and do not keep those standards/laws we often "feel" like a failure! We may feel insecure, inadequate or inferior! We may feel guilt and fear! Sometimes we may feel so shameful we can not even function in life!! ANY LAW OR STANDARD can become a so called curse if we try to live by them! How can we tell if we are? by the way we react to them!! The way we react to life in general shows us what we truly believe! It does not matter if you just know the truth, we must choose to walk in that truth! Knowing God's love does not mean your claiming or walking in that love!

We are to walk by faith! In what God has said is true! We are to trust in what Jesus did on the cross! He became the curse for us, so that we may blessed with the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus! That we may receive the promise of life and become God's child!

When you feel unloved, rejected or down and depressed there is some law or standard your trying to live up too and can't! Turn to God, by faith and receive Christ love, life and liberty given to you and STOP living under some imaginary curse!!

for you in Christ love,
Howard

Resurrection Day, not a one time event but a daily lifestyle!
While Christians around the world will celebrate what is commonly called Easter, I want to encourage you to think a little past and hopefully above that! What I mean is that while you should celebrate RESUURRECTION day DAILY, BY keeping your heart and mind on the things above DAILY!

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

This celebration should not be a one time event yearly but rather it should be a DAILY celebration for the believer! It should be exciting and "new" DAILY! WE should be fixed on this from the time we wake up until our heads hit the pillow at night!

One thing we can find comfort in, is found in
...1Thes 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

BE comforted in what Christ did at the cross, and that He rose to give you life, and that our life is in Him, and last but not least you will meet and be with Him again!!!!

Enjoy your weekend, and be comforted by renewing your mind DAILY and SEEK DAILY, the things above in CHRIST!!

as always for you in grace, by faith,
Howard

Be Reciprocal Saints!
I believe that the church has adopted a more worldly view of most things! We see homosexual pastors, same sex marriage and churches! We see women in positions of authority in the church as well as men escaping into irresponsible behavior! We see worldly thinking and behavior instead of a godly and righteous character in the saints! The taking advantage of others! The defrauding of others just because they can and then turn around and say you can't make me or force me"! Which is true but it is still taking advantage of another!

To ask someone to do something for you, without ever any desire to helping them is sin! It is self centered and defrauds God's design for fellowship! Being willing to be willing to give to another is important! Paul said in 1 Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

You see a "RECIPROCAL" thing here! We give you receive, you receive you give! Giving and receiving is God's way, buying and selling is the worlds way! Even more so taking, manipulating and defrauding others is the worlds way!

So when you are with other saints be willing to give as well as receive. You can listen, share and communicate! You can give clothes, food and financially! You can minister in the hospital, home and church building! You can give as well as receive! BOTH are important!!
Be willing to give as well as well as receive! and BE WILLING TO RECEIVE as well as give!!!

always in Christ and for you,
Howard

Giving and Recieving!
2Cor 11:8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

The church is Christ Body which are believers in which gave to Paul to minister the gospel of grace! Paul did not steal, it means he took what they gave and used it to live and travel. Now Paul told the Philippian believers that no one gave as they did! Paul says that they shared what they had earned to give to Paul so that he could minister freely without having to worry about were his next meal or shelter was going to come from!

Giving and receiving is just apart of how God works! Buying and selling is the worlds way, while giving and receiving is God's economy! God gave and we received! We received life, love and liberty! As we give God our lives He receives us as "living sacrifices" unto Him!!!

I don't talk about this often and neither do I ask often but it is necessary for both you and me! While we are blessed when people give to our ministry, you also are blessed by giving! Just as I am blessed to share with you daily devotions, blogs and teach and counsel others, you are blessed by receiving them. So giving and receiving is also reciprocal, one gives the other receives! If only one is giving all the time then it becomes a feeding of ones flesh with out regard for the other! So the church is to give and receive!

While we are not a big ministry nor do we have lots of supporters as others do. We primarily counsel and teach one on one and therefore while being extremely affective for individuals and couples we do not have the mass amount of people who support us! Church's may have more people but do not get down to each individual or families needs. In fact most often than not Pastors do not even counsel but refer them to me or others. In other words Sunday morning church is usually more surface or in general bible learning while one on one ministry is much more specific and therefore growth happens faster and deeper! Jesus spent 3 years with 12 and in specific 3 in particular and they grew to lead and write books in the bible! Jesus spent so many years with Paul from the heavens that Paul a hater of the church ended up being "The Apostle to the world"!

People grow deeper and faster through one on one discipleship, and so I ask you to pray about as well as financially give to help support this discipleship process with me! I have seen lives changed and couples reconciled over and over because of this one on one discipleship counseling ministry!

Any amount is deeply appreciated and I am praying for 20 people to give $50 per month and some one time givers to give $250 or more. We are a 501-c3 so your giving is also tax deductible if want.

Thank you, and may God's grace be with you today!

AUTHORITY!
Philemon 1:9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. 10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

In these verses we see Paul beseech Philemon, the owner of a slave, named Onesimus! This is a great teaching moment for all of us! How to deal with authority!

Most people grow up without parents that teach the Word of God and most often then not those who are believers still walk by the flesh. Most do not read nor teach about authority in their house and usually act the same as the world when it comes to authority! Sadly many and growing is the questioning and changing of the true basic roles of authority in the home today! Many men escape from responsibility and women rescue and take over that role! Being controlling, dominate and overresponsable.... while the men are passive and irresponsible! Sadly even the very sex of these roles have changed! This why homosexuality is so wrong for the very authority has been changed and questioned!

If you do not know what proper authority from a Godly point of view then it looks like this in short for a family!
1. God
2. Jesus
3. Holy Spirit
4. Husband/man
5. Wife /woman
6. Children

Now their is civil and government authority as well but I won't go into that now! BUT ALL authority is to be respected no matter what!

Now I must say that there is authority within human things for instance what one owns and what he does not own! For instance he owns his house, car, food... and while a husband my have authority over his wife and children... He does not own their minds or mouth! People can think and say to a certain extent what they want... YET what they say may affect a response back in discipline or action for instance! IF it is said out of disrespect with attitude and/or argumentative than that needs to be addressed also! I can not tell my wife what to think but I can tell her what the bible says about issues and what God says about issues...!

Now to add, if a person who is in subjection to another's authority it does not matter if it is a object or thought, and they would like to seek and share their thoughts with that person then they should "appeal" to that person! The word "beseech" in Philemon means to "appeal too" or to "beg to entreat" someone who is in the role of authority! So if you want to speak into another's life or share something on someone's position or take a object then "appeal" to that authority!
Most wives want to share their thoughts or ideas or may even disagree with their husbands! They may want to correct him, yet they don't understand why he gets upset when she "speaks her mind"!!! The reason IS because she has not appealed to his authority or respected his role of authority and therefore it comes across as disrespect!!

Here is a way to "appeal" to all authority in whatever situation you are in! You could say.... "May I share something with you"? (now if the authority/he/they say NO, then DO NOT SHARE!!) BUT USUALLY THEY WILL... because you appealed to them first! Another way is "May I ask you a question"? Even if you have your own thoughts or ideas and they may be even better you still need to "appeal"!

Now one last thought, don't appeal by asking then blast away with disrespect that is a sin also and it is a sure way that you will never get that authorities permission to share again! Make sure your mind and heart are walking after the spirit and in a righteous place!
God takes authority very seriously after all
HE IS "THE" AUTHORITY!!

in grace and love,
Howard

Seeking what you don't have and Knowing what you do have!
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

When something is complete it is done, full or perfect! This is what we are are as beleivers! In our Spirit we can not put anything more in for it is full of the Spirit of God! It is full with Christ and His Holy Spirit, you can't fit anymore into this container called your spirit! It is Holy for they are Holy! It is righteous and Godly for they are Righteous and Godly!!! So we are perfect in spirit because they are perfect in spirit!
Now this is a done deal if you are a beleiever! KNOWING this is different than what Israel had for they were always trying to seek God per say! They did not have the spirit in them! They did not have Christ in them!!! They did not have God in them!! So you see they had to seek Him and "DO" things to show the devotion and Godliness!
Anytime you are seeking something there will be anxiety, fear and stress!!! Seeking something is not the same as knowing and having something! Christians often get anxious because they have sinned or feel lost and fearful so they go to seeking God as if He is not there with them, IN THEM!!! You can not get any closer to someone then being IN them!! God is in you! Christ is in you! The Holy Spirit is in you! SO don't seek something you don't have, but REST in the fact that you do have!!! You already have Christ In You, therefore you do not need to do something to "feel" better or "work" harder! OR TO FEEL good about yourself for you are already perfect, whole and complete in Christ!
The above verses say that you are complete ,forgiven and alive in Christ!
STOP being anxious in what you don't have and
REST, RECEIVE AND RENEW IN WHAT YOU DO HAVE!!

in Christ and for you,
Howard

Who will deliver me?
Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

We all struggle with sin! Even though there are those who believe and tell us "IF" we sin then we are not saved or will lose our salvation! Neither of these are true, and are lies! Paul clearly "was" saved and describes here in Romans 7 that he too struggled with sin! But we need to relies that the Christian life is not about "NOT" sinning but rather about CHRIST!!!

You see our flesh sins and at the same time it also wants to be perfect and not let God down... but our flesh is not perfect and has already let God down!! AND God still sent Christ and still loves us! Our flesh sins but we are not our flesh! We are a Spiritual being! We are a spirit in a flesh suit!
THINK SPIRITUALLY!! THINK LIKE GOD WHO IS SPIRIT!

Now the Law was used to give Israel boundaries that other nations did not have and to show a distinct difference between them and the world! It was to show other nations who God was through Israel! It also was to remind Israel constantly "who" God was and to repent, worship and honor Him!!!

Now the Law only condemns it does not give life! It shows sin and makes it exceedingly sinful!
We need to see our selves as the Law sees us so that we can acknowledge our sinfulness, that we are dead spiritually and in need of a Savior! We need to then trust in the cross work of Christ and receive Christ as our Lord and Savior!

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

WHO will save you? Non of us can save ourselves yet we always seem to try! We can not save ourselves, so why do we try to fix ourselves after being saved! We try to fix the fix that has already been fixed!!!! ONLY CHRIST can save, settle and secure our hearts and mind! ONLY CHRIST can help, heal and make holy! ONLY CHRIST can die, deliver and dwell in us! ONLY CHRIST can and HAS done the work on the cross! ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST!
As Paul said so well "...I THANK GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD..."!!!!!

THANK GOD, THANK JESUS and stop trying to fix yourself! Stop dwelling on your sin, and start looking at Christ cross and love for you! Acknowledge your sin but don't dwell on it to the point that your immersed in it and have self pity, self destruction self, self self....and just thank God for your forgiveness and keep receiving His love!

in Christ for you,
Howard

Forgiveness is a one way street!
Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

I often hear people say forgiveness is a two way street, but really it is a one way street, meaning that just as God forgave us we too are to forgive others...... regardless if they admit their wrong, or ask for our forgiveness!

Now reconciling and being in unity "is" or may be called a two way street, but not "extending" forgiveness!

First we are to extend forgiveness, (NO MATTER WHAT they did or do!!!) by understanding that we have been hurt, offended and rejected in some way. Just admit it,... everyone has and always will!! Don't act tuff and say as I have heard some men say," I am a marine I don't get hurt..." blah, blah, blah.... we ALL get hurt! As far as I know no one is bigger or stronger than Christ mentally or emotionally and He felt rejected by man, so just admit it!

2ND we confess to God through prayer that we are hurt/offended... pour out your hurt and feelings to Him... and then admit your fleshly reactions, like anger, hate and/or no longer want to be around this person....thank Him for His forgiveness and then "CHOOSE" to forgive the person for their offence!AND just in case you need to be told, YOUR fleshly, sinful reaction to their offending you is just as sinful as what they did to you in the first place!

Now that is "EXTENDING" forgiveness.....

Now if we did things back, name calling, or anything sinful and usually we do... we need to "SEEK" forgiveness as well.... FOR instance by saying to them "I was wrong" for calling you that name or yelling back or being harsh with you .........."will you forgive me"?

Now we will find "FREEDOM THROUGH FORGIVENESS" if we extend forgiveness every time and are obedient to Christ! Now Christ did not give us His word and instructions to forgive just so we would "only be" obedient to Him, He gave them to us so we could be free from the anguish and anger which controls us! He is not trying to make us obedient robots to Him but to set us free mentally and emotionally!

Kind of like when you tell your kids not to touch something that will hurt them, and they think that you are just saying that to get them to mind you, ro keep them from having fun..... BUT you are saying it to save them from great pain and harm!

Learn to forgive the other person and you will live in freedom regardless of others!

because I too am forgiven,
Howard

Pastor's fail and fall!
In the last week I have heard of several Pastor's who were fired or quit due to different reasons. Pastor's fail and fall! That is just the way it is. They are human and have flesh and sin like everyone else. YET their responsibility is enormous! They not only have to run a church per say like any other organization, but they must do it with morals and heart! YES, Sadly some act as if they built the church or as if they are God! AND Some feel overwhelmed and decide to step down. Either way they are to be forgiven and encouraged to repent and renew! After all they are God's child too!

IT DOES NOT CHANGE THE ROLE OF AUTHORITY!!!
God allows and wants authority in our lives! We need authority in our lives! A child needs parents, we need police and we need pastors and teachers to teach us the word as well as help edify, encourage and yes discipline if necessary the saints in the church!

FOLLOW FIRST!
The writer of Hebrews says Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

So we need to follow the authority yet consider their walk! Paul says in 2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Paul is saying follow me and teach others so that they can teach and follow....The discipleship process is exactly that! One person teaching another, who teaches another, who teaches another....following the more mature one, until Christ is formed in that person! Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

You see we need to learn to follow until we are mature enough to go out alone and in turn teach others! If you can't follow someone, you are prideful! You are acting independent of authority, 1st God than man! We need to listen first, than speak!

Just like teens who think they know it all so can many believers and act prideful and speak when they should listen first! They have not matured enough to know how to behave even though many may be 40, 50, 60, 70 years of age! They may even know "good doctrine" but misuse it or not respect others thoughts or feelings! They act prideful and arrogant!

So follow authority, and take in to consideration that they are human too! They too sin, but God has ordained authority and we are to forgive and pray for them!

Remember that "THE AUTHORITY" IS GOD!!! If you can't follow someone you can see, you will never follow God to whom you can not see!!!

in grace,
Howard

PEACE!
Rom 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Eph 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 2:14 For he (Christ) is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

2 Cor 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Paul Always started his epistles with grace and peace from God our Father....! Paul says that Christ is our peace! Finally Paul tells us to live in peace and that the God of Love and peace shall be with us!

Now peace is both a fact and a feeling! There is peace between God and man today because Christ was the propitiation (sacrifice) for all sin and therefore God's wrath against man has been satisfied! AND
there is also the sense of peace, the "feeling" of peace in ones mind!

Now since Christ is our peace and He lives in our SPIRIT we have peace between God and ourselves in our spirit! So Spiritually speaking we are one, reconciled and have peace!

Now in our SOUL we have our mind, will and emotions this is were the problem is! We can feel anxious and depressed! We can feel shame, guilt and fear! We might feel inadequate, inferior and insecure! Our minds go all over the place and we try hard to not think about these feelings or situations but we still do!

We want to "feel" PEACE, but we feel anxious! We want to fix, correct or control things until we can bring order to our issue and hopefully find peace!

Sadly it does not work and if it did work, it would only work until the next crises or issue arises and then we are right back on that rollercoaster ride of emotions again! Sometimes one issue comes than another, than another.... and our minds are running at warp speed and we are about to have a panic attack and/or emotional breakdown!

SO WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS???
NOTHING!

PEACE only comes from repenting of our sin and renewing of our minds! PEACE comes from knowing and appropriating GOD'S LOVE in our mind! PEACE comes from not "doing", "fixing" or "controlling" but from
RESTING in CHRIST AND GOD'S LOVE!

Christ has done the work, it is a done deal! Learn to rest when you feeling restless or "dis-eased"!

Your PEACE OF MIND is found in Christ and God's love, repent, renew and rest in God's love and you will have peace daily!

in God's love and grace,
Howard

Discipline comes from a great love!
Col 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

As I think about my Grandson buying his first truck, I am amazed at how old he is and that he has grown to be the man he is! Yes I see the immaturity like all teens at 17 but still a man! A young man but still a man!

As the scripture encourages us to be toward our wives it also could go toward our children and grandchildren! Don't be bitter, angry or provoke! In other words we men tend to sound and lean toward harsh, strong and powerful words toward the weaker more vulnerable people in our lives! Women just seem more gentile with words but it does not come easy for men!

I remember when my girls were little that if I just looked at them in anger or disappointment they would cry! On the other hand my son seam not to be as sensitive and needed more discipline.

Either way though gentile words that are straight forward and teaching usually are better than harsh words. Even if they do not learn the first time you can keep a better relationship in the long run!

Teach your kids about God, sin and repentance at a young age! Teach them about Christ, His cross and forgiveness always! Read the bible to them regularly at all ages and be ready to teach in all situations!

Discipline is bringing order to someone's life. Like being discipline at work or exercising we too need to bring order into someone's life with our kids.

As they get older that order switches from mom primarily to dad! Allow that to happened and don't back out dads, and moms let go of that nurturing part!

Discipline is so important when their young and if that happened it will be easier as they get older but if that is not there when they are younger then when they get older it will be tuff!

ALL discipline comes from love,... not punishment!
Love is patient, and looks like teaching, training, correcting and rebuking in love!

as always,

Idols of the Heart!
Eze 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

Do you have "Idol's in your heart"? Of course we know that we all can have idol's and the number one idol is ourselves! Now we all sin, but we all don't repent, feel remorse or reconcile with others! Often some of us say "...we all sin, so leave me alone and look at yourself"!! This type of person does not understand sin or how it affects others! I have seen marriages destroyed by the Christian or one who "claims" to be one, ignoring these idols of their heart!!!

Now sometimes these idols are not the problem in and of themselves! In other words if your idol is T.V. or your phone, there is nothing wrong with watching it sometimes, but if it is away to escape life or relationships then it is a idol!!!

The real problem is not "THE" idol but our heart! The idol or the doing or not doing of something shows our heart, our devotion to God or "SELF"!!!! To pleasure, comfort or love our selves! Lets see what 2 Timothy says...

2 Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

"....Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God...."!!!
....Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth"!

While it is true we all sin, we still need to take responsibility for that sin and repent! If you just say I sin and do not repent you have nothing but the same mind still! A change of mind is necessary...from a self-centered living and thinking to God by faith and grace thinking and living! A righteous and Godly thinking and living life style!

Don't be a Esau...

REPENT and be TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND!!!!

Good Morning Lord!!
Psalm 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Mar 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

There is something about getting up early for me! I like to get up early when it is quiet and I can drink a cup of coffee and read God's word!
Now there is no law about when to read or pray but I think some good wisdom is to begin our day by prayer and reading is good.
Try getting up early and doing some of these things.

1. Pray 3 minutes or so....- Both Jesus and David rose early and prayed.
2. Read 4 minutes or so.... Don't worry about getting into a deep study just read. Our job is to read, the Spirit brings revelation! Start by reading in Romans and read a few verses or a chapter a day!
3. Pray again for 3 minutes or so....Thanking God and receiving His love for you! Renew your mind with God's truth!
Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

4. Go to work!

Now the "or so..." means you can always do more if want and have time, but you can begin with 10 minutes at least!

Start your day out as Paul said in Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

as always in God's love and grace,
Howard
