BRING GLORY TO GOD
Resurrection Day, not a one time event but a daily lifestyle!
While Christians around the world will celebrate what is commonly called Easter, I want to encourage you to think a little past and hopefully above that! What I mean is that while you should celebrate RESUURRECTION day DAILY, BY keeping your heart and mind on the things above DAILY!

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

This celebration should not be a one time event yearly but rather it should be a DAILY celebration for the believer! It should be exciting and "new" DAILY! WE should be fixed on this from the time we wake up until our heads hit the pillow at night!

One thing we can find comfort in, is found in
...1Thes 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

BE comforted in what Christ did at the cross, and that He rose to give you life, and that our life is in Him, and last but not least you will meet and be with Him again!!!!

Enjoy your weekend, and be comforted by renewing your mind DAILY and SEEK DAILY, the things above in CHRIST!!

as always for you in grace, by faith,
Howard

Be Reciprocal Saints!
I believe that the church has adopted a more worldly view of most things! We see homosexual pastors, same sex marriage and churches! We see women in positions of authority in the church as well as men escaping into irresponsible behavior! We see worldly thinking and behavior instead of a godly and righteous character in the saints! The taking advantage of others! The defrauding of others just because they can and then turn around and say you can't make me or force me"! Which is true but it is still taking advantage of another!

To ask someone to do something for you, without ever any desire to helping them is sin! It is self centered and defrauds God's design for fellowship! Being willing to be willing to give to another is important! Paul said in 1 Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

You see a "RECIPROCAL" thing here! We give you receive, you receive you give! Giving and receiving is God's way, buying and selling is the worlds way! Even more so taking, manipulating and defrauding others is the worlds way!

So when you are with other saints be willing to give as well as receive. You can listen, share and communicate! You can give clothes, food and financially! You can minister in the hospital, home and church building! You can give as well as receive! BOTH are important!!
Be willing to give as well as well as receive! and BE WILLING TO RECEIVE as well as give!!!

always in Christ and for you,
Howard

Giving and Recieving!
2Cor 11:8 I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

Philippians 4:15 Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only.

The church is Christ Body which are believers in which gave to Paul to minister the gospel of grace! Paul did not steal, it means he took what they gave and used it to live and travel. Now Paul told the Philippian believers that no one gave as they did! Paul says that they shared what they had earned to give to Paul so that he could minister freely without having to worry about were his next meal or shelter was going to come from!

Giving and receiving is just apart of how God works! Buying and selling is the worlds way, while giving and receiving is God's economy! God gave and we received! We received life, love and liberty! As we give God our lives He receives us as "living sacrifices" unto Him!!!

I don't talk about this often and neither do I ask often but it is necessary for both you and me! While we are blessed when people give to our ministry, you also are blessed by giving! Just as I am blessed to share with you daily devotions, blogs and teach and counsel others, you are blessed by receiving them. So giving and receiving is also reciprocal, one gives the other receives! If only one is giving all the time then it becomes a feeding of ones flesh with out regard for the other! So the church is to give and receive!

While we are not a big ministry nor do we have lots of supporters as others do. We primarily counsel and teach one on one and therefore while being extremely affective for individuals and couples we do not have the mass amount of people who support us! Church's may have more people but do not get down to each individual or families needs. In fact most often than not Pastors do not even counsel but refer them to me or others. In other words Sunday morning church is usually more surface or in general bible learning while one on one ministry is much more specific and therefore growth happens faster and deeper! Jesus spent 3 years with 12 and in specific 3 in particular and they grew to lead and write books in the bible! Jesus spent so many years with Paul from the heavens that Paul a hater of the church ended up being "The Apostle to the world"!

People grow deeper and faster through one on one discipleship, and so I ask you to pray about as well as financially give to help support this discipleship process with me! I have seen lives changed and couples reconciled over and over because of this one on one discipleship counseling ministry!

Any amount is deeply appreciated and I am praying for 20 people to give $50 per month and some one time givers to give $250 or more. We are a 501-c3 so your giving is also tax deductible if want.

Thank you, and may God's grace be with you today!

AUTHORITY!
Philemon 1:9 Yet for love's sake I rather beseech thee, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ. 10 I beseech thee for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:

In these verses we see Paul beseech Philemon, the owner of a slave, named Onesimus! This is a great teaching moment for all of us! How to deal with authority!

Most people grow up without parents that teach the Word of God and most often then not those who are believers still walk by the flesh. Most do not read nor teach about authority in their house and usually act the same as the world when it comes to authority! Sadly many and growing is the questioning and changing of the true basic roles of authority in the home today! Many men escape from responsibility and women rescue and take over that role! Being controlling, dominate and overresponsable.... while the men are passive and irresponsible! Sadly even the very sex of these roles have changed! This why homosexuality is so wrong for the very authority has been changed and questioned!

If you do not know what proper authority from a Godly point of view then it looks like this in short for a family!
1. God
2. Jesus
3. Holy Spirit
4. Husband/man
5. Wife /woman
6. Children

Now their is civil and government authority as well but I won't go into that now! BUT ALL authority is to be respected no matter what!

Now I must say that there is authority within human things for instance what one owns and what he does not own! For instance he owns his house, car, food... and while a husband my have authority over his wife and children... He does not own their minds or mouth! People can think and say to a certain extent what they want... YET what they say may affect a response back in discipline or action for instance! IF it is said out of disrespect with attitude and/or argumentative than that needs to be addressed also! I can not tell my wife what to think but I can tell her what the bible says about issues and what God says about issues...!

Now to add, if a person who is in subjection to another's authority it does not matter if it is a object or thought, and they would like to seek and share their thoughts with that person then they should "appeal" to that person! The word "beseech" in Philemon means to "appeal too" or to "beg to entreat" someone who is in the role of authority! So if you want to speak into another's life or share something on someone's position or take a object then "appeal" to that authority!
Most wives want to share their thoughts or ideas or may even disagree with their husbands! They may want to correct him, yet they don't understand why he gets upset when she "speaks her mind"!!! The reason IS because she has not appealed to his authority or respected his role of authority and therefore it comes across as disrespect!!

Here is a way to "appeal" to all authority in whatever situation you are in! You could say.... "May I share something with you"? (now if the authority/he/they say NO, then DO NOT SHARE!!) BUT USUALLY THEY WILL... because you appealed to them first! Another way is "May I ask you a question"? Even if you have your own thoughts or ideas and they may be even better you still need to "appeal"!

Now one last thought, don't appeal by asking then blast away with disrespect that is a sin also and it is a sure way that you will never get that authorities permission to share again! Make sure your mind and heart are walking after the spirit and in a righteous place!
God takes authority very seriously after all
HE IS "THE" AUTHORITY!!

in grace and love,
Howard

Seeking what you don't have and Knowing what you do have!
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

When something is complete it is done, full or perfect! This is what we are are as beleivers! In our Spirit we can not put anything more in for it is full of the Spirit of God! It is full with Christ and His Holy Spirit, you can't fit anymore into this container called your spirit! It is Holy for they are Holy! It is righteous and Godly for they are Righteous and Godly!!! So we are perfect in spirit because they are perfect in spirit!
Now this is a done deal if you are a beleiever! KNOWING this is different than what Israel had for they were always trying to seek God per say! They did not have the spirit in them! They did not have Christ in them!!! They did not have God in them!! So you see they had to seek Him and "DO" things to show the devotion and Godliness!
Anytime you are seeking something there will be anxiety, fear and stress!!! Seeking something is not the same as knowing and having something! Christians often get anxious because they have sinned or feel lost and fearful so they go to seeking God as if He is not there with them, IN THEM!!! You can not get any closer to someone then being IN them!! God is in you! Christ is in you! The Holy Spirit is in you! SO don't seek something you don't have, but REST in the fact that you do have!!! You already have Christ In You, therefore you do not need to do something to "feel" better or "work" harder! OR TO FEEL good about yourself for you are already perfect, whole and complete in Christ!
The above verses say that you are complete ,forgiven and alive in Christ!
STOP being anxious in what you don't have and
REST, RECEIVE AND RENEW IN WHAT YOU DO HAVE!!

in Christ and for you,
Howard

Who will deliver me?
Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good. 13 Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.

We all struggle with sin! Even though there are those who believe and tell us "IF" we sin then we are not saved or will lose our salvation! Neither of these are true, and are lies! Paul clearly "was" saved and describes here in Romans 7 that he too struggled with sin! But we need to relies that the Christian life is not about "NOT" sinning but rather about CHRIST!!!

You see our flesh sins and at the same time it also wants to be perfect and not let God down... but our flesh is not perfect and has already let God down!! AND God still sent Christ and still loves us! Our flesh sins but we are not our flesh! We are a Spiritual being! We are a spirit in a flesh suit!
THINK SPIRITUALLY!! THINK LIKE GOD WHO IS SPIRIT!

Now the Law was used to give Israel boundaries that other nations did not have and to show a distinct difference between them and the world! It was to show other nations who God was through Israel! It also was to remind Israel constantly "who" God was and to repent, worship and honor Him!!!

Now the Law only condemns it does not give life! It shows sin and makes it exceedingly sinful!
We need to see our selves as the Law sees us so that we can acknowledge our sinfulness, that we are dead spiritually and in need of a Savior! We need to then trust in the cross work of Christ and receive Christ as our Lord and Savior!

14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. 21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. 22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

WHO will save you? Non of us can save ourselves yet we always seem to try! We can not save ourselves, so why do we try to fix ourselves after being saved! We try to fix the fix that has already been fixed!!!! ONLY CHRIST can save, settle and secure our hearts and mind! ONLY CHRIST can help, heal and make holy! ONLY CHRIST can die, deliver and dwell in us! ONLY CHRIST can and HAS done the work on the cross! ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST, ONLY CHRIST!
As Paul said so well "...I THANK GOD THROUGH JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD..."!!!!!

THANK GOD, THANK JESUS and stop trying to fix yourself! Stop dwelling on your sin, and start looking at Christ cross and love for you! Acknowledge your sin but don't dwell on it to the point that your immersed in it and have self pity, self destruction self, self self....and just thank God for your forgiveness and keep receiving His love!

in Christ for you,
Howard

Forgiveness is a one way street!
Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

I often hear people say forgiveness is a two way street, but really it is a one way street, meaning that just as God forgave us we too are to forgive others...... regardless if they admit their wrong, or ask for our forgiveness!

Now reconciling and being in unity "is" or may be called a two way street, but not "extending" forgiveness!

First we are to extend forgiveness, (NO MATTER WHAT they did or do!!!) by understanding that we have been hurt, offended and rejected in some way. Just admit it,... everyone has and always will!! Don't act tuff and say as I have heard some men say," I am a marine I don't get hurt..." blah, blah, blah.... we ALL get hurt! As far as I know no one is bigger or stronger than Christ mentally or emotionally and He felt rejected by man, so just admit it!

2ND we confess to God through prayer that we are hurt/offended... pour out your hurt and feelings to Him... and then admit your fleshly reactions, like anger, hate and/or no longer want to be around this person....thank Him for His forgiveness and then "CHOOSE" to forgive the person for their offence!AND just in case you need to be told, YOUR fleshly, sinful reaction to their offending you is just as sinful as what they did to you in the first place!

Now that is "EXTENDING" forgiveness.....

Now if we did things back, name calling, or anything sinful and usually we do... we need to "SEEK" forgiveness as well.... FOR instance by saying to them "I was wrong" for calling you that name or yelling back or being harsh with you .........."will you forgive me"?

Now we will find "FREEDOM THROUGH FORGIVENESS" if we extend forgiveness every time and are obedient to Christ! Now Christ did not give us His word and instructions to forgive just so we would "only be" obedient to Him, He gave them to us so we could be free from the anguish and anger which controls us! He is not trying to make us obedient robots to Him but to set us free mentally and emotionally!

Kind of like when you tell your kids not to touch something that will hurt them, and they think that you are just saying that to get them to mind you, ro keep them from having fun..... BUT you are saying it to save them from great pain and harm!

Learn to forgive the other person and you will live in freedom regardless of others!

because I too am forgiven,
Howard

Pastor's fail and fall!
In the last week I have heard of several Pastor's who were fired or quit due to different reasons. Pastor's fail and fall! That is just the way it is. They are human and have flesh and sin like everyone else. YET their responsibility is enormous! They not only have to run a church per say like any other organization, but they must do it with morals and heart! YES, Sadly some act as if they built the church or as if they are God! AND Some feel overwhelmed and decide to step down. Either way they are to be forgiven and encouraged to repent and renew! After all they are God's child too!

IT DOES NOT CHANGE THE ROLE OF AUTHORITY!!!
God allows and wants authority in our lives! We need authority in our lives! A child needs parents, we need police and we need pastors and teachers to teach us the word as well as help edify, encourage and yes discipline if necessary the saints in the church!

FOLLOW FIRST!
The writer of Hebrews says Hebrews 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

So we need to follow the authority yet consider their walk! Paul says in 2 Tim 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Paul is saying follow me and teach others so that they can teach and follow....The discipleship process is exactly that! One person teaching another, who teaches another, who teaches another....following the more mature one, until Christ is formed in that person! Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

You see we need to learn to follow until we are mature enough to go out alone and in turn teach others! If you can't follow someone, you are prideful! You are acting independent of authority, 1st God than man! We need to listen first, than speak!

Just like teens who think they know it all so can many believers and act prideful and speak when they should listen first! They have not matured enough to know how to behave even though many may be 40, 50, 60, 70 years of age! They may even know "good doctrine" but misuse it or not respect others thoughts or feelings! They act prideful and arrogant!

So follow authority, and take in to consideration that they are human too! They too sin, but God has ordained authority and we are to forgive and pray for them!

Remember that "THE AUTHORITY" IS GOD!!! If you can't follow someone you can see, you will never follow God to whom you can not see!!!

in grace,
Howard

PEACE!
Rom 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Eph 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 2:14 For he (Christ) is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

2 Cor 13:11 Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

Paul Always started his epistles with grace and peace from God our Father....! Paul says that Christ is our peace! Finally Paul tells us to live in peace and that the God of Love and peace shall be with us!

Now peace is both a fact and a feeling! There is peace between God and man today because Christ was the propitiation (sacrifice) for all sin and therefore God's wrath against man has been satisfied! AND
there is also the sense of peace, the "feeling" of peace in ones mind!

Now since Christ is our peace and He lives in our SPIRIT we have peace between God and ourselves in our spirit! So Spiritually speaking we are one, reconciled and have peace!

Now in our SOUL we have our mind, will and emotions this is were the problem is! We can feel anxious and depressed! We can feel shame, guilt and fear! We might feel inadequate, inferior and insecure! Our minds go all over the place and we try hard to not think about these feelings or situations but we still do!

We want to "feel" PEACE, but we feel anxious! We want to fix, correct or control things until we can bring order to our issue and hopefully find peace!

Sadly it does not work and if it did work, it would only work until the next crises or issue arises and then we are right back on that rollercoaster ride of emotions again! Sometimes one issue comes than another, than another.... and our minds are running at warp speed and we are about to have a panic attack and/or emotional breakdown!

SO WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO FIX THIS???
NOTHING!

PEACE only comes from repenting of our sin and renewing of our minds! PEACE comes from knowing and appropriating GOD'S LOVE in our mind! PEACE comes from not "doing", "fixing" or "controlling" but from
RESTING in CHRIST AND GOD'S LOVE!

Christ has done the work, it is a done deal! Learn to rest when you feeling restless or "dis-eased"!

Your PEACE OF MIND is found in Christ and God's love, repent, renew and rest in God's love and you will have peace daily!

in God's love and grace,
Howard

Discipline comes from a great love!
Col 3:19 Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. 20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

As I think about my Grandson buying his first truck, I am amazed at how old he is and that he has grown to be the man he is! Yes I see the immaturity like all teens at 17 but still a man! A young man but still a man!

As the scripture encourages us to be toward our wives it also could go toward our children and grandchildren! Don't be bitter, angry or provoke! In other words we men tend to sound and lean toward harsh, strong and powerful words toward the weaker more vulnerable people in our lives! Women just seem more gentile with words but it does not come easy for men!

I remember when my girls were little that if I just looked at them in anger or disappointment they would cry! On the other hand my son seam not to be as sensitive and needed more discipline.

Either way though gentile words that are straight forward and teaching usually are better than harsh words. Even if they do not learn the first time you can keep a better relationship in the long run!

Teach your kids about God, sin and repentance at a young age! Teach them about Christ, His cross and forgiveness always! Read the bible to them regularly at all ages and be ready to teach in all situations!

Discipline is bringing order to someone's life. Like being discipline at work or exercising we too need to bring order into someone's life with our kids.

As they get older that order switches from mom primarily to dad! Allow that to happened and don't back out dads, and moms let go of that nurturing part!

Discipline is so important when their young and if that happened it will be easier as they get older but if that is not there when they are younger then when they get older it will be tuff!

ALL discipline comes from love,... not punishment!
Love is patient, and looks like teaching, training, correcting and rebuking in love!

as always,
in love and grace,
Howard

Idols of the Heart!
Eze 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

Do you have "Idol's in your heart"? Of course we know that we all can have idol's and the number one idol is ourselves! Now we all sin, but we all don't repent, feel remorse or reconcile with others! Often some of us say "...we all sin, so leave me alone and look at yourself"!! This type of person does not understand sin or how it affects others! I have seen marriages destroyed by the Christian or one who "claims" to be one, ignoring these idols of their heart!!!

Now sometimes these idols are not the problem in and of themselves! In other words if your idol is T.V. or your phone, there is nothing wrong with watching it sometimes, but if it is away to escape life or relationships then it is a idol!!!

The real problem is not "THE" idol but our heart! The idol or the doing or not doing of something shows our heart, our devotion to God or "SELF"!!!! To pleasure, comfort or love our selves! Lets see what 2 Timothy says...

2 Tim 3:1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

"....Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God...."!!!
....Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth"!

While it is true we all sin, we still need to take responsibility for that sin and repent! If you just say I sin and do not repent you have nothing but the same mind still! A change of mind is necessary...from a self-centered living and thinking to God by faith and grace thinking and living! A righteous and Godly thinking and living life style!

Don't be a Esau...
Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

REPENT and be TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND!!!!

Good Morning Lord!!
Psalm 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Mar 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

There is something about getting up early for me! I like to get up early when it is quiet and I can drink a cup of coffee and read God's word!
Now there is no law about when to read or pray but I think some good wisdom is to begin our day by prayer and reading is good.
Try getting up early and doing some of these things.

1. Pray 3 minutes or so....- Both Jesus and David rose early and prayed.
2. Read 4 minutes or so.... Don't worry about getting into a deep study just read. Our job is to read, the Spirit brings revelation! Start by reading in Romans and read a few verses or a chapter a day!
3. Pray again for 3 minutes or so....Thanking God and receiving His love for you! Renew your mind with God's truth!
Phl 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

4. Go to work!

Now the "or so..." means you can always do more if want and have time, but you can begin with 10 minutes at least!

Start your day out as Paul said in Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

as always in God's love and grace,

Parents and children...Discipline vs Punishment!
Col 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21 Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Sometimes we parents don't know how to handle our own kids, especially as they get older! Hopefully this Blog will help a little!

When children don't mind or get out of control or won't listen...... we are hurt and rejected because what they are doing is Disrespecting the authority! That is called SIN!!! Treat sin like you would with everyone else! It is a good time to show them Repentance, Renewing and Reconciling with others!!!

We tend to react out of that rejection and YELL!!!! Words that punish and reject verses building discipline in their lives! Discipline is what is needed and you want to be discipline with your relationship with God also by repenting, renewing and forgiving before you YELL!

Talk to them about their sin, and help them repent and do it with them! The younger you start the better of course!

As for the physical discipline (action) that depends a lot on their age. A gentile tap on the rear, after going to the Lord, or to taking the phone, car, or T.V. away, depending on their age!! Now the taking away of things and the talk should not be long. Make the time fit the crime for their age. Don't take away their phone for a month. They do not need to be hung or be given the death sentence!

Now occasionally you have a adult (13-19) that is underage if you know what I mean. And it does not matter what you do, no matter what,... they just "do not" conform to your household! AND if AFTER talking to a Christian counselor or your pastor does not help, then you may need to ask them to leave, but that is under some extreme conditions!

First check you heart , your sin! Are you harboring anger or resentment from all the disrespect! Have you been yelling at your kids or taking action in love?

Bringing their heart into discipline unto God is the goal!
Discipline not punishment!

Reconciled, Restored and Recieved!
Rom 5:10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. 11 And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Rom 11:15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

So many of us struggle with being accepted and loved by God! We feel the guilt of our sin daily! We are focused on our success and failures and our performance in life, instead of on Christ and His works at the cross!

While it is true that God's wrath was on man, it is also true that God still desired to have a relationship with man! He wanted to be with and give man everything, which is found in Christ His son! So He sent Christ to the cross so that Jesus would die for our sins and rose to give us life through Him! God did this because he cares for us and wanted us to be reconciled to Him!

We are reconciled to God meaning, as believers we are forgiven, restored and righteous in Him! We no longer need to fear punishment from God! We no longer need to work to be accepted by God! We no longer need to "do" all the right things and perform for God to want us! We no longer need to be perfect for God, for Jesus is perfect for us! We do not need to hold onto guilt or even false guilt to show our piety or humbleness! We do not need to fear the rejection of God based on our performance! But rather we can walk in victory knowing we are deeply loved, totally accepted and completely forgiven! For we are
RECONCILED, RESTORED AND RECIEVED BY GOD!

for you, in love,
Howard

God has done the work, just receive, by faith!!!
As I counsel and teach others I see a pattern of lies and deception that so many believers have bought into! This pattern is that only God can change people and only God can help me change! Some will say 'when will God do this..." and or "God do that... for me or someone else"!
The truth is that God has already done everything needed for life and security in Him! You see the problem is not God but us!

In and under the old covenant which ends at the cross by the way, not at the beginning of Matthew! God did do things for Israel to show WHO he was and to help them follow Him! AND so that Israel would be faithful and then the world, we gentiles would follow Israel to God! But when Israel failed to follow and believe in Jesus the redeemer, and Christ was crucified than God said I will do everything needed, ALL Gentiles need to do now IS BELIEVE!!!

You see it's not waiting on God to "do something", but it is BY FAITH IN CHRIST....that we are whole, secure and transformed!!!! We are transformed in Spirit immediately after we believe and then daily by renewing our minds, over and over until Christ is formed in us!!! While our Soul and Body struggle day to day our spirit is secure in heaven in Christ!

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Gal 4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

So stop asking, begging and waiting for God to keep showing you something or changing you, just receive, renew and rest on what He has already done in you!
WALK BY FAITH!

as always in grace,

The miracle is the conception of Christ!
Luke 1:4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast been instructed. 5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth. 6 And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless. 7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years. 8 And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course, 9 According to the custom of the priest's office, his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. 10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time of incense.

Sometimes Christmas is so worldly and profit minded! Stores profit and we give gifts to others and usually we profit from receiving some gift! BUT it might be good to realize that Christmas as we know it is not when Jesus was born but rather His immaculate conception that was the real miracle. Jesus was born like any other baby, but it was His conception by the Holy Spirit that was truly wonderful!

Now it might help if we understood that December is not the time Jesus was born but conceived! AND why is this so important to us also, because it is God's Spirit that is conceived in us as well! I know the bible talks about being born again, but He was really talking about Israel in John 3! We today are regenerated into a New Creation, a New baby if you will! Something from nothing type of birth! Israel was already God's son, child, but we gentiles were not!

So in a very short way and not all the details, I will share the time frame of Christ conception!

Now John the Baptist was Jesus cousin and his dad was a priest, who worked in the temple and burned incense. Now he did this during the course that was set up in the old covenant under the month of Abijah ,(Abia) which is the eighth course to serve. Starting in March-April for the first course... Abijah would have been in the time frame of June and John would have been conceived in June. Jesus was conceived 6 months later in DECEMBER!!!! Again short and not explained in great detail but you get the point I hope! SO Jesus birth was around September time frame!

You see while the world celebrates Christ birth and that is fine per say,... we should remember the conception was Supernatural, Spirit filled, Spirit produced and Spirit led by God in a normal earthy women!

WE TOO are conceived by the SPIRIT and Spirit filled, Spirit formed, Spirit led and Spiritually produced in Christ!!!

From nothing to SOMETHING NEW!!! YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD WHO IS SOMETHING IN CHRIST!!!!
PRAISE HIM THANK HIM AND GIVE GOD THE GLORY,
THIS CHRIST-MAS!!!!!

have a wonderful, SPIRIT, and CHRIST FILLED CHRIST-mas!

in God's love,
Howard

The Offended and Rejection Cycle!
We all have been offended and felt the sting of rejection! Even Christ felt it, yet He is the ONLY one to not sin after feeling rejected and He felt it by ALL man kind!!!

ALL sin offends and rejects!!! Remember when you sin it rejects God and someone else! If a husband cheats on his wife, of course the wife feels rejected! If a wife argues and disrespects her husband, the husband feels disrespected and the children feel rejected too! Their mom has just disrespected the head of the house and their dad! When a child does not obey he rejects the parents authority! So in all cases sin offends/rejects God and man!!

Now lets define rejection! Rejection is any form of unloving, unrighteous and ungodly behavior toward another! It comes from sin and shows the death process mentally and emotionally! So not showing love is unloving toward others. Disrespect, dishonor, manipulation, cheating, hate, hurt vengeance, arguing against authority.........I could go and on!
A good way of understanding rejection in your life is too first admit it. Say to yourself and God, "I feel rejected, unloved, disrespected, dishonored and/or I am offended........."! The use of the "I" word is important as it is saying you are being responsible for your feelings and thoughts, and NOT BLAMING others for your feelings!!!

2nd the bible says in Eph 5:29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
You see the problem is that we love ourselves, so we tend to justify our feelings and then blame or hold the other person responsible for our feelings! It sounds and looks like this..."I am hurt and I do not deserve this, and I deserve to be loved because I am...."! Our pride kicks in and we defend our flesh!!

3rd we tend to then reject others! We say and do things that offend and hurt others because we think we are God and can and should punish them!!!

This can go on and on and on and as quickly as we feel offended we reject others!!!! It becomes a cycle of bitterness and rejection!

If you want to get out of this rejection cycle, simply admit your hurt, identify the person and what they did and then by going to God, Renew your mind in who you are in Christ, and extend forgiveness just as God has forgiven you!

After all, is your sin of unforgiveness or your sinful reaction to the rejection and the other person any different or better then their sin!!! Your sin is just as great as theirs and God has forgiven you!

because God forgave,

Sin brings shame, guilt and fear!
As I said in last weeks blog that I will do some basic teachings on what I call the 5 R's! These 5 R's are what every Christian needs to do daily to have victory in their daily life! Now I will show you the first R in a few weeks, but first lets look at Genesis 3 and see how we got into this mess to begin with!

Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

Now we talked about this last week how Satan deceives us into thinking we can be a"god" or even "Like God", and live independentantly or find significance without God! I told you how we can set standards, demand obedience and judge others! We can take vengeance, try and control life and live independent of God and others! I also said that we want the appreciation, acceptance and attention of others as well as not ask for help from God or man!!!

Today though I want us to back to Gen 3 and see some other things that we may think and feel!!!

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Now in 1 Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
This verse describes Gen. 3:6 perfectly in fact John is using those same words to describe how we act when we are trying to be a god! Lust of the eyes, Lust of the flesh and Pride of life! Lust and Pride come from the same Hebrew root word, meaning to covet! To take for selfish reasons and to delight in for self! You see we all lust, we all sin and part of sin is lusting! We may lust for power, money and even love!!! We lust for attention and acceptance! We lust for food and gratification in different ways!
Now we also think we deserve love and demand love! We think we are great, smart and above others! We think we know everything and act as if people are to worship us and bow down to our every little whim!!! This is pride!!!
Both lust and pride are self centeredness! Both are sin!

Now when we sin we also have emotions that tell us that we have sinned and help us to know what we are thinking! Emotions are not bad they help us to see what has priority in our thinking at the time!!! Feelings are not be nursed or coddled but they are to be used and understood! They are not to control us, but to help us! So we see in these next verses...

7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. 8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. 9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? 10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?

The first feeling we all have when we sin is SHAME! They were exposed for what they had done! We all feel shame and this why we protect ourselves from others rather than being transparent!
2. Guilt! Feeling guilty and being guilty of sin as Adam was...helps us to know we need help a Savior to begin with!
3. Fear! We all fear! Fear is used from Gen. to Revelations! We fear problems, people and punishment! We fear death and rejection! We fear failure and future! WE ALL FEAR!!!!

These 3 are the emotions that goes with every sin in some way! Don't deny them or excuse them! Just allow them to tell you what your really thinking and turn to God!

Lastly the next verse deals with not a emotion but a action!!! BLAME!
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.

We all play the blame game at some point! "the dog ate my homework or my brother hit me first"..."My wife this or my husband that".....Adam also did something very important that people never see! He blamed GOD! Not just Eve, but GOD! We can do that too! We not only blame others but God! AND its not just that we blame God, but we think we have the right to blame God,
after all when I sin, I THINK I AM GOD!!!!!! Don't you?

in grace and for God,
Howard

My problem and yours!
I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving!

For my Saturday blog I thought I would go back through some teachings and basics things that I teach everyone! These are basic things that every Christian needs to know in order to have victory daily in Christ! Just because they are basic does not mean that you learn them and then move on, No these are principles every Christian must do daily for the rest of our lives!! They are basic but not elementary in importance! So here we go and I encourage you to get out your bibles and read and study these daily even after reading this blog today!

Now the women did something that is common with women and this is why the serpent, (aka Satan) talked with her instead of Adam! Women are prone to want relationships! Women are much more relational than men! Women are relationship oriented and men tend to be performance oriented!

So Satan strikes up a conversation and the first thing we need to know is that Satan deceives us! Satan lies, manipulates and deceives us into thinking we can have significance with out God! That we can even be a god and live independent of God! Also I might add that Eve did something that God did not tell them not to do! She said we may "not touch" the fruit! God just said don't eat of it, (ref. Gen.2:16) she shrunk God's boundaries/standards down to her standards!!!! We do this so much in life. We take God's standards and make them tighter, stricter then His and "we could not" do His standard, how are we going to do our standards!!!!

Now if God is God, and we are not.... than He has certain prerogatives that we don't have!

1. He can set standards for mankind, and He has!
2. He can demand obedience!
3. He can judge mankind by those standards!
4. He can take vengeance!
5. He can take and is in control!
6. He can act independent, and do whatever HE pleases!
7. Only He deserves praise, worship and glory!
8. He needs no help from man!

Now if we try to be like God than we sin when we try to do these things....

1. Set standards for others and ourselves!
2. Demand obedience from others and for ourselves
3. Judge others by those standards and with hold love...!
4. We take vengeance!
5. We try to control life!
6. We act and behave independent of God and others!
7. We want and seek the love, acceptance, affection, adoration, affirmation and approval of others!
8. We seek NO help from others!

You see we are trying to be God and act as if we are God even if we don't know it or do it on purpose!! This is called sin! Sin is being separated from God, independent of God, and trying to find significance without God! This why sin is called "missing the mark", we miss the "perfect" mark of God, and His righteousness! His perfect righteous standard and only Christ is perfect and this is why only Jesus can save us and make us "PERFECT"!

Look at these 8 ways that you may be deceived and are trying to act and be God! I often hear people say "I don't want to be God" or " I don't do those things...." in which I say to them, "than you don't sin at all, your perfect..." and of course they say " no I do sin, but..." in then I say "than you have done at least one of these in some form"!!!

Be honest, be tuff on your self, and see yourself for how you really are, not just how you want to be! NO one's carnal, sinful, flesh ever gets better, so just admit it!!!

ALL sin is on the cross, so you are already forgiven! ALL of sin everyday....ALL OF US! Just be HONEST WITH YOURSELF!

because of Christ,
Howard

Living a lifestyle of independence!
Deu 10:17 For the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:

Dan 4:35 And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?

Psa 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Psa 135:5 For I know that the LORD is great, and that our Lord is above all gods. 6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.

Living a lifestyle of independence, is so common today! Yet I guess it always has been!! From the time of Adam and Eve when they sinned against God and thought that they could be a god with out Him, man has struggled with independence! Trying to find significance on our own, and saying to ourselves..." I accomplished this" or "look at who and what I am"! It is so easy to make decisions or act and do something with out considering others! WE believe we have the "right" to do so! After all I am "GOD" we think!!! "I don't need help"!!! "I know what is right or best for ME"!!! The problem with man is we want to be our own god!

There are so many ways of being independent from God and each other! God allows us to relate to each other so that we can see how we also relate with Him!! WOW! In other words how you share and interact with others is how you may interact with God! If you can't share and be transparent with the Body, meaning spouse, children, friends and/or church, you are probably not open and completely honest with God!

Now of course there are growing pains that come with that over time! For instance if you are new believer and beginning to trust in God as your Lord and Savior than you may be beginning to be honest and transparent with God for the first time and that will take time to develop, BUT still not be open to the body! Sometimes new believers ask the Body for help in knowing God and His Word! And that is a good thing, but I am not just talking about doctrine or only the attributes of God, but rather about, our needs, hurts and desires! Our marriages, feelings and our deepest worries and concerns! We need to consider how our decisions good or bad have affected others, and talk with them about those decisions! We may need to extend and seek forgiveness for them!
BUT at some point we must all grow and learn to share our feelings with the Body or else we become even more prideful and INDEPENDENT!

There are so many ways to act independent of our spouse, children and church, without even considering their thoughts , opinions or spiritual understanding. I have seen way to many marriages break up! I have seen way to many families torn apart from each other because of independent hearts and attitudes!

Don't Live a lifestyle of Independence! Be independent of the world and sin, and be interdependent with the Body of Christ and while you learn to be TOTALLY, COMPLETELY DEPENDENT ON GOD!

God's authority and mans responsibilty!
Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. 5 Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. 6 For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. 7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

OK I will jump on the political bandwagon this one time!!! HA! But With all the mid term election stuff going on I thought it might be a good time to remember some things!

First God has allowed and set up authority in life! He has blessed authority, because GOD IS THE AUTHORITY!!! Let us never ever forget that!

There are authorities in all realms of life, from Family and church to government!

Now if you remember that in Jesus earthy ministry He was under human authority and it was not necessarily perfect! In fact compared to that time our nation, authority and problems are nothing compared to then!

SO how did Jesus handle that authority? First He knew "WHO" was "THE" authority, GOD! And 2nd He knew "WHO HE WAS"!!! He KNEW He was God's son and He KNEW and trusted completely in His Father!!! So He was not intimidated by them! He did submit outwardly and allowed them to treat Him and beat Him as if He was of no importance!
We see in the book of Philippians chapter 2 it say that Jesus..."But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:"!...
That means that He behaved in a subservient way to earthly authority while serving and dying for others! It means that Jesus while being as God, became a man and gave His life for man!

We are asked to do the same, even though we may be beaten, spit on or killed! We too can serve, stand and be strong for God in the midst of any worldly authority!

The answer and understanding for this comes from...
Romans 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.....

Love is not weak or silent but it is righteous and therefore respectful!

In other words, we should receive from God His love and know "WHO WE ARE AS CHRIST DID"! And then because of that security and confidence in "OUR" Father, and in knowing we are safe, saved and secure in Him, we then stand, speak and vote for "HIS" views... in love!

BUT always in LOSS, LOVE!

to encourage you always,
in God's grace,
Howard

Suffering!
Hebrews 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Suffering never sounds good! It always seems to hurt or be some negative thing, doesn't it! No one wants to suffer needlessly, and to suffer on purpose for something we want seems probable but we still don't like it! Like when a women goes through birth pains and she suffers, she does not like it but oh the joy of having that baby!!!
OR when we hurt doing a workout ...the old saying comes to mind "No pain ,No gain..." and we keep pushing and suffering to gain!! But that kind of suffering is not what we all have nor do we all want! BUT....

We all suffer, even Jesus suffered! Jesus suffered and learned to be obedient by suffering, the writer of Hebrews says! Now Jesus was perfect so He did not sin, but as He was growing He would have those who would treat Him or even His Father, God, wrongly and He would hurt! YET He always went to His Father even in that pain! Just as He did on the cross when being crucified cried out to His Father, ABBA,ABBA, Daddy, Daddy!

You see suffering is not just intended to hurt or destroy us but to teach us to go to our Father, our God, Our Savior! It teaches us, and tells us where we are mentally and emotionally and whether we are thinking about worldly, earthly, human or anything else besides God! EVERYTHING in LIFE is designed to bring us closer to the CROSS and To Christ!

Now we can suffer because of many things, like someone else's sin or health or disease! AND even because of our own sin! We may continue in sin, over and over and not learn and keep suffering and failing, like Esau did! In Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

You see he kept blaming and being bitter and did not repent unto God! If repentance means to "have a changed mind", Esau kept the SAME mind he had and never came to the Lord! He never was obedient and therefore never matured or had peace!!!

What we do when we suffer is so important! How we handle our sin or rejection, failure and loss is so important! We can do it Esau's way or God's way! We can cry out to our Father and remember what He has done through His Son, Jesus or we can stay the same way and die emotionally!!! We have a choice, in each and every time we suffer!
Choose wisely, Choose God's love over all that suffering and you too will have peace and mature into a obedient, CHILD OF GOD! Renew your mind and rest in His love regardless of the suffering you are going through and be comforted in your Father's arms!

as always in grace,and
may the Lord's love be in you,
Howard

Reciprocate, by giving and recieveing!
Rom 15:27 It hath pleased them verily; and their debtors they are. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, their duty is also to minister unto them in carnal things.

1Co 9:11 If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?

I hope this blog finds you doing well today!

I wanted to share these thoughts with you, that I think Paul found extremely important to the Body! That is, the idea and understanding of reciprocating! That is to give back in some way, because you have been given too! Christ died for our sins, yet He did not die, just "to die", But that we might give our lives to Him! He rose to conquer death, and give His life so that may receive salvation, but we must give ourselves to Him! Paul writes to the Roman and Corinthian church that since the Jerusalem saints gave them the gospel and spiritual matters that the gentiles should give them carnal or natural things. Things like food, cloths and money!

You see there is a reciprocal type of thinking in ministry!
If someone gives you, something you normally and should reciprocate with "at least" a "thank you"! AND if you can give more at some point, then do..... this is how our thinking and heart should be!

While ministry is about giving, many in the church think that all they have to do is receive, but they also need to give! Now giving can come in many forms! As I said before...food, clothing and financial support, but one more is important first!

1.prayer - prayer is important! It is bringing the spirit into the natural, earthy and fleshly realm! We all need to pray for one another!

2. food/clothing - this can take on many different forms for different people at different times. Sometimes just water is needed, and sometimes food is needed for others, or both! Sometimes a job, cars or cleaning a yard or house is needed, but the essentials is what is most important!

3. Money - Sometimes financial support is needed and given. Now the church is to give financially to different areas in life. For instance to the poor, orphaned, widows and to advance the ministry and gospel of Christ!

4. Thank you - and last but not least, sometimes just a simple acknowledgement and thank you is needed! The appreciation of receiving a word, message or encouragement!

I ask that you think about these things in your life and who you can give too! IF it be the hungry person, or giving clothes to one who does not have! To the widow, orphaned or poor! To the one who needs help staying off drugs or rehabilitation or just a driver to the store or doctor! Perhaps one who ministers to you and how you can give back to them!

I ask that you remember this ministry as we advance the gospel, by teaching and counseling others in how to live by faith in Jesus Christ! By praying and giving financially it helps us to help those who need counsel in the Word! Who need stability and security! Who need their marriage reconciled and honoring God! I also ask that you reply back often with prayer request, and/or appreciation for our work! Let us know how your doing and if and how we helped, that encourages us, to keep going!
LET US GIVE "and" RECIEVE FROM ONE ANOTHER!

in grace,
Howard

Pray for ALL men and understand authority!
1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

PAUL ASK us to pray for all men! The Body of Christ needs to be a praying church and community! WHY? Because without bringing in the Spiritual realm we will end up doing things from a earthly, fleshly, carnal way! When we begin to pray for others, or give thanks for our food, or for anything we are saying that we honor the authority of God, the authority over man! The creator and the one who deserves our glory!

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

I RECEINTLY watched a show on Queen Elisabeth of England and I noticed that everyone bowed down to her as they do today to the Queen and royals! Now we are to bow to no one but God and give God the respect and sovereignty that is only His! BUT we are to respect those who are in authority and our government even if you do not agree with them! IT is the position we respect and who deserves this, NOT the person... because God has made and blessed this position! So let us pray for those who govern and have respect for them. All of them need our prayers NOT just our opinions and judgements! Otherwise we look like and act like unbelievers who just complain and demand their lustful and carnal way!

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

I LOVE THESES VERSES!!! Who would have ALL MEN to be saved!!! God loves His creation just as you and I love our kids! He wanted to be with them and spend time with them, so after man rebelled, He sent Christ to the cross so that He might reconcile Himself to them! He was the initiator, even though He was also the offended one! What a great example God is! To show us even when we are the offened we too can extend forgiveness!! Just wonderful and beautiful love shown! SO now all men every where are given the opportunity to come and be reconciled by faith! They have the free will to receive and to call JESUS, LORD!

7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity. 8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

PAUL says I am a preacher, a teacher and Apostile to the gentiles! He encourages us to pray in faith to God for others! To be free to lift up our hands if desire and to express our dependency and praise to God! To be free and transparent in our emotions and thoughts unto God! Allow yourself to express yourself, without seeking attention unto yourself, but only unto God! Only God deserves the praise and our attention not us!

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; 10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. 11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. 12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. 13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

NOW Paul encourages women to not seek attention, which again takes away from God who deserves the praise of man! Often women go to church to find a husband or even try to get men to stare, by dressing very provocatively, so they can feel good about themselves! Here we see again in a different way, to honor God as the authority!

There are also a lot of churches allowing women to be the lead pastor or even allowing women to teach and have authority over men. What this is saying is that God and God's Word is NOT the final authority but man! There is a reason why God wanted this in scripture. He designed men and women different and for different roles! Each ones make up in God's perfect design should be respected and honored by their roles, if they are not we begin to pervert God's creation and change His design! It was not God's intention to have one better or smarter, but rather for the protection, provision of their specific role for each to benefit and create one creature out of two! They are to praise and glorify God not each other! Out of this perfect design they will love, nurture and multiply!

Pray for ALL men, and respect ALL authority!

in grace,
Howard

Free will and choices!
2 Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The church has been divided for ever on whether or not there is free will, even though it has been shown over and over through scripture!

Here we see it again, we all have free will, we all make choices! Either responsible or irresponsible choices in life! And either way we are responsible for those choices! We must either gain or lose, succeed or fail, death or life it's up to each one of us! As individuals we must bear that burden of decision! We must either pay the price and sink or climb the mountain in victory!

God showed His love for us through Jesus Christ! He sent Him to the cross and He died for our sins and rose again, so that we may receive life and salvation through Him! So we have the choice to choose the truth that Jesus rose and that only through Him may we have eternal life! Now God offers this to ALL! if HE DID NOT then people would not have the opportunity to "...receive not...", to decline, as it says in verse 10! In order to decline, one must first be offered the gift and so salvation, truth and grace has been extended to all!

In life we all have choices to make, but it is our pride and fears that keep us from receiving! Receiving from God as well as others! So many people who are insecure and just coping with life are also the most prideful too! They won't ask for help, because they are scared of the advice or that it goes against what they really want which may be bad for them! OR they think they are smarter and know more then the person giving advice! Many times the person who is giving advice and counsel has even been through the exact same circumstances and perhaps chose wrongly and paid the price and so wants to help the person not go through that same experience! Others may not have went through the same experience but know what scripture says and can discern right from wrong, good and evil!

As a pastor-teacher and counselor, I have great empathy and sympathy for people, but if a person is bound and determined to do it there way I have no choice but to let that person go through life until life crushes them! I did not say that I wanted them to go through it, I am just saying that the only way this person is ever going to be humbled is to be crushed to the point of repentance and or death! Unfortunately many will go to the brink of death, or great loss, IF THEY COME AT ALL!!! and sadly that is what happens to many!

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. 16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, 17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

Before time began God wanted ALL men to worship and be saved through Jesus! He always loved His creation and wanted the best for us! He sent Jesus to die and too give us salvation. We simply need to believe and receive Him! Be comforted in God's GREAT LOVE! You have a free will so,
make wise choices, CHOOSE LIFE, CHOOSE CHRIST!

in Christ, by faith

FILTHY LANGUAGE! What you say can tell more about you than you think!
Col 3:8 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.

When I was young my Dad would cuss and use foul language and I remember at even a young age thinking, "I don't like that" and "that sounds really bad" or "the pastor and Sunday school teacher said that was bad dad"!!
I never got in the habit of cussing or telling bad sexual jokes and I am glad I didn't! Now some people do get in a habit a early age, and it seems normal and is just as hard to break as any other habit!
James 3:5 says....Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. 7 For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: 8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Just like drinking alcohol or smoking or any other bad habit it takes consistent awareness and prayer! Repenting (changing of mind...) and renewing of the mind and heart! To realize that something is sinful and that God loves you! He loves you, so you don't need to get attention by over emphasizing with cuss words, or being controlling and demanding or judgeing by cussing and usually yelling follows!

Another thing I see so much of in the world today is how so many professing people, who say they know God, but by their MOUTHS they deny Him!!! How you might say? By the same way they profess Him,... THEIR WORDS!!!! I see this a lot on social media! Facebook especially, when in one post one says "God is great" and "God First" and "I love God", and then in the next post four letter words that make a sailor blush!!!!

Your WORDS can tell more about you than you may think! They say how insecure you are and how you value others! How you put emphasis on certain words to show your feelings about it!
Your WORDS can tell the world that we are NO different than they are! No wonder many call the church and us hypocrites! While you may praise God with your lips, your cuss words show that you don't! STOP acting as if your words mean nothing because they do! Your heart and mind do not serve God but yourself!

WORDS can offend!
I once had a guy who used cuss words and hand gestures to get attention and than say to me "they are just words and fingers...I was the one who thought they were bad not him or others" But that is not true!!!! Some words and gestures are universal for their meaning and always offend! They are offensive to others no matter how you may think of them! As Christians we are called to edify the body with our words and actions!
1Co 14:26 ....... Let all things be done unto edifying.
Don't let cuss words keep you in bondage and not edify the body! Nothing can ruin your testimony faster than cuss words!

WHO do you serve, God or man!? God or yourself?
Take note of your language, and repent, renew and receive from God, receive and know His love which will bring security and take away that insecure tongue and heart!

in God's grace,
Howard

Faith in "What" or "Who"?
I hope you all had a great week!

Today I want share with you a point of view that most people in the world have, but get nothing out of, FAITH!
If you do not have faith, it may seem hopeless! So many of us do not believe in anything and therefore have no hope! Many are depressed and even take their own lives because they have no hope!

So faith is important! Almost everyone will say you need to believe in something! Either some religious thing or if nothing else yourself! We may say to ourselves "I am going to be more confident, bold and believe in myself more"!

Now the interesting thing about "that" is that while faith in something is important, "WHAT" you believe in is even more impotant!! For instance you may show great faith in a chair that you like and want to sit in it! It is looks manly or pretty and cool looking! It has a certain charm to it and you just like it, and so you put a great deal of faith in this chair to hold you up when you sit in it! So you go and sit, BUT it falls apart! You hit the ground and hurt yourself! Your chair is worthless! Your chair did not do what it was designd to do!

The same goes for religions and such things! Some put great faith in Buddha, but Buddha is dead! Muhammad is dead and even David of the bible all dead! They can not help or do anything! Even if their philosophy sounded good they are dead! A dead person can not save another dead person! They can not "hold" you up nor promise and do what they say they could!

Now you could believe in your self, yet you will die also! We have no power on our own, we sin, and "WE" need help not the other way around! We can not save ourselves! We can not forgive ourselves we are not the judge, but God is the judge!

God sent Jesus to die for our sins and take the punishment for all sins! Jesus then rose again, conquered death and HE IS ALIVE!!!! Only Jesus is ALIVE! Only Jesus can save us! ONLY JESUS!

You see it is not JUST that you have faith, but rather WHAT you PUT FAITH IN! Walk by FAITH IN JESUS!

Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! "WHO" shall deliver me from the body of this death? 25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

in grace,

When God is small and people are BIG!
Rom 8:15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

We are all born in fear! In Genesis Adam sinned and he was fearful because he was guilty and so sin and fear are apart of man! To live in fear is to live in sin, and therefore there is bondage! Fear can restrain us from venturing into all kinds of possibilities and all kinds of adventures in life! It can also keep us in bondage of self centeredness! Protecting ourselves at all cost! Not loving others as we are told and shown to do by Christ! Fear grips every person in some way, some how, no matter who you are! Some tuff men say "I fear no man or nothing", yet that same, very tuff man will be scared to go home after work and hear his 100 lb. wife gripe or say something to him! I have been known on occasion to say to those who say "I do not fear anyone or anything" "your a liar"....WHY? Because we all fear it is apart of our sinful flesh! Just because you don't see it or recognize it or admit it does not mean it is not there! ALL sin has some fear element to it! Either before we sin or during or after! We may fear we will get caught, before we even do it but do it anyway... we may fear as we are even doing it but enjoy it to much to stop.... we may fear the consequences that come after the sin......! Fear keeps us in bondage!

1Th 1:9 For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

The interest thing about fear is that what ever we fear has become a idol and BIG to us! We see it as much more powerful and bigger than God! God has become little because he is now on the backburner instead of the front burner of our minds!

As your sitting in your chair as you read this, just look at the light above your head on the ceiling, that's God! Now take your hand and put it right in front of your eyes and look at it! It blocks out the light and becomes BIG! Your hand has now become bigger to your eyes! It has become the idol that has blocked the light of God! Don't let your performance, works... or other people's opinions become BIG, your idols and fear them!

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
2Co 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Remember while people or performance may have become your idol and fear is gripping you and holding you in bondage, they are not the problem! We do not fight flesh and blood but rather everything that is exalted in our minds above God! We have allowed the person or thing to become exalted, Big, and therefore we fear! We have allowed fear to keep us in bondage! Just because you know that God is bigger does not mean that your flesh is not reacting to fear! Have you ever seen a movie and either began to cry or you get mad or your feelings begin to do something! You begin to react to the stimuli of what you are seeing! FUNNY AND SADLY IT IS NOT EVEN REAL! That is what Hollywood wants, but we are reacting to what we see, feel or desire!

Fear is a feeling that God allows us to have in order to show us we are exalting something else above Him! Don't be arrogant and say you do not fear, just recognize it, admit it and call what it is, and than bring your thoughts into obedience of Christ by receiving, and resting in His love for you!

If you want to know the antidote for fear it is Love! but not worldly love... Only God's love, WHY only God's love, because GOD IS LOVE!
1 Jo 4:8 ...for God is love. ... 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Put on God's love each and every day as well as everytime time you fear and walk in freedom instead of bondage!

Free at last, free at last,
THANK GOD ALMIGHTY, I AM FREE AT LAST!

Stop hiding behind Walls, Works and Words!
As I meet and counsel with couples.... one of the things I have to deal with is a build up of Walls! In relationships it easy to build up walls so that we can protect ourselves from being hurt and rejected! This is common with everyone to some extent! When our spouse hurts us we want to reject or take vengeance on them in some way! We may just shut down completely and not talk or share life with them! We also may say things like " I don't do what you do"...and "I am better than you, you do this or that......"! "and Why don't YOU love me the way a man (or women) is suppose to...doesn't the bible say your suppose to love me and give yourself to me....."! You see we use "OUR WORKS" (our performance or success...) against them, or to manipulate them! We use "OUR WORDS" and even quote the bible... to protect ourselves, defend our selves or to again manipulate them! Most of us can relate to this in some way....!

I have noticed in church's, pastor's, bible studies, social media and any other type of social places that we all do the same thing! We tend to "hide behind Walls, Works and Words"! We tend to use the bible to protect ourselves from being open and honest with one another! We quote scripture, throw out bill board answers and counsel from the word as well but not really listen to each other! We only want to "teach" and parrot doctrine, "God says this", "Paul says this" and "we need to rightly divided that"....... when really we haven't matured enough to even be honest with ourselves! Being honest with God and ourselves is the first step to being humble and submit to God to begin with! AND then hopefully we can be honest with the body also! IF we are hiding behind our works (successes and performance) and words (biblical words, doctrine ...) we begin to be even more prideful and arrogant! Paul said in 2 Cor. 12:9 that he would rather glory and boast about his infirmities, so that the power of Christ might rest on him and be shown through him!

Relating to God, your spouse, children and even your church, starts with being humble, taking a honest appraisal and look at yourself and just admitting it! Admitting your sin, isn't failure in fact it is the first step to being a mature Christian! Fearing rejection from others keeps you in bondage to THEM not free in Christ!
Stop building WALLS and start building Relationships, first with God than with others! Build a strong foundation using the 5 R's, Repentance, Renew, Rest, Reconciliation and Reach!
STOP HIDING AND START TAKING DOWN THOSE WALLS!

in faith, by grace,
Howard

Old verses New!
Perhaps this BLOG will date me a little, but when I was young we only had one phone and it hung on a wall in the hallway! When it rang it would be 1 or 2 or 3....rings so you knew who it was for, because it was a party line, meaning your neighbors all shared the same line! It also meant if you were nosey that you could listen in on their calls! OOPS!!! We can't imagine phones like that now could we! Things change, life changes!

Have you tried to put OLD car parts in a NEW car today they just don't work and even if you could it would really bog the car down and possibly make it worse! So we shouldn't do that, but I bet some people do or try too!

While all that sounds Old and ridicules, that is what many Christians do in life and with their understanding of the bible! The bible starts in Genesis..."in the beginning..." and ends in Revelation's! This is God's time table for man and shown and given for eternity! He has blessed us with a book that shows us everything from beginning to end, but we are not at the end yet! We are somewhere in the middle too end! God has shown us how He dealt with those in the beginning and the how He formed Israel to give man and the world structure and boundaries! Man had no Law or boundaries and was wicked so He allowed Israel to be the deliverer of those boundaries through the Law! They were not very good at following those Laws so God was going to send A Messiah to help them, redeem them and therefore the world! BUT they did not accept Him and they killed Him! This is all "OLD parts" in a way! It was Law and work and ordinances...., that Israel had to perform in order to be cleansed ,holy and accepted! Since the ones who were suppose to know and do these ordinances could not, or better said would not and than killed the deliverer... God said I will bring "NEW PARTS" to fix the problem! These "NEW" parts are simply found in Christ alone! Christ death, burial and resurrection was all the parts/work needed and if received by faith and "put in our car" it will be fixed eternally! Don't try to conform nor perform and put old parts, via law, works and ordinances into YOUR car, just remember your car is fixed by the greatest mechanic there is, JESUS!

The instruction manual for these "new" parts are found in Paul's writings. Trying to put Israel's parts into gentile cars will only result in a bogged down life! By the way Jesus earthly ministry was to Israel, (the books Matthew -John under law)! Peter, James and Johns books are addressed to Israel also,
so read Paul's books for your car to run properly and to ZOOM AWAY IN LIFE!
